Texas A&M University Application Deadlines for Indian Students

Texas A&M has a Fall (August) primary intake and a smaller Spring intake for Indian applicants. Most undergraduate, master’s, MBA and PhD programmes open in the Fall, making it the main intake for international students.

Planning note: MBA Round 2 is the fellowship-consideration round at Mays, so Indian applicants targeting scholarships should aim for the 28 January 2027 window rather than the May 2027 final.

Texas A&M University Eligibility for Indian Students

Texas A&M splits its eligibility into an academic floor and an English proficiency floor. Indian applicants should match both before paying the application fee of $90 (₹8,618). All figures below come from the Texas A&M admissions and Graduate and Professional School pages.

• UG general entry: Class XII at 75% or higher, with Mathematics studied through Class XII for STEM majors.
• Graduate general entry: A four-year Bachelor’s equivalent to a US degree, with a 3.0 GPA (65%) on a 4.0 scale.
• English proficiency: TOEFL iBT 80, IELTS Academic 6.0, TOEFL Essentials 8.5, or an accepted substitute, with test dates within two years.
• Credential evaluation: Indian transcripts are reviewed in-house, but some programs request a WES or ECE report.

Three-year Indian Bachelor’s degrees are generally not equivalent to a US four-year degree for most Texas A&M graduate programs. Indian applicants with a BA, BSc, or BCom (three-year) are usually asked to complete a Master’s degree first or hold a four-year honours Bachelor’s such as a BE, BTech, or BArch.

Texas A&M University PG Programs and English Score Requirements

Texas A&M offers around 270 graduate programmes, with Indian students commonly choosing Engineering, Computer Science, Business Analytics and Petroleum Engineering. International graduate tuition starts at USD 11,550 (INR 11.06 lakh) per year, while Engineering and the Mays MBA have higher fees.

Texas A&M University Undergraduate Admissions

Texas A&M admits international freshmen through ApplyTexas or the Common App, with no preference between the two platforms. International freshman applications opened for Fall 2027 on 1 August 2026, close on 1 December 2026, and the document deadline is 15 December 2026. Indian students apply alongside domestic applicants but review happens on a holistic basis.

Reality check: Mays Business admits roughly one in five international freshmen even when the overall institutional acceptance rate reads near 57%, so Indian applicants to BBA should treat Mays as a reach rather than a target.

Texas A&M University MBA Admissions Process

Mays Business School runs the Full-Time MBA, Professional MBA (part-time), and Executive MBA. Indian applicants almost always target the Full-Time MBA at College Station, which admits on a three-round calendar. The Mays portal opened on 1 August 2026 for Fall 2027.

Mays Full-Time MBA Rounds for Fall 2027

• Round 1: 30 October 2026, closest live deadline.
• Round 2: 28 January 2027, the fellowship consideration round.
• Final deadline: 26 May 2027, admit decisions still issued but funding largely allocated.

Round 2 is the strategic deadline for Indian applicants chasing merit aid. The application fee is $90 (₹8,618), paid directly on the Mays portal.

Mays MBA Test Scores and Work Experience

Mays Business School generally requires GRE or GMAT scores, with a median GMAT of around 600–630. A test waiver may be available to applicants with at least three years of work experience and a strong undergraduate GPA. For English proficiency, the IELTS requirement is 7.0 for Mays, compared with the university-wide minimum of 6.0, unless the applicant qualifies for a waiver.

Full-Time MBA interviews are by invitation only and are conducted virtually for Indian applicants after the initial application review. Candidates should be prepared to discuss their career goals, post-MBA plans and fit with the Aggie network.

Texas A&M University Application Process

Indian applicants to Texas A&M follow one of three application routes depending on level. Freshmen use ApplyTexas or the Common App, graduate applicants use the departmental portal or a Centralised Application Service (CAS), and Engineering graduate applicants use EngineeringCAS.

1. Pick a platform. For UG, open ApplyTexas or the Common App. Both opened for Fall 2027 on 1 August 2026. For graduate programs, check the department page to confirm which CAS it uses.
2. Create the account. Enter your name exactly as on your passport, your Class XII marks for UG, or your Bachelor’s details for graduate.
3. Upload documents. Transcripts, passport bio page, SOP, LORs, resume, and English score upload happen here.
4. Pay the application fee of $90 (₹8,618) on the Texas A&M portal. Engineering graduate applicants pay a combined $148 (₹14,171) on EngineeringCAS.
5. Submit and track. You receive an acknowledgement within 48 to 72 hours and can view status on the Texas A&M Applicant Information System.
6. Respond to the offer. Accept the offer, pay the enrolment deposit, and request the I-20 for your F-1 visa.

Decisions are typically released between late January and early April for Fall international freshmen, and on a rolling basis for graduate programs once departments complete their review. Deferral is available for one semester subject to department approval, after which a fresh application is required.

Texas A&M University Documents Required

Keep every document ready in PDF format at under 10 MB each, named clearly, before you open the ApplyTexas or GraduateCAS portal. Indian applicants often lose two to three days chasing an attested transcript or an updated passport, so start this list six to eight weeks before the deadline.

• Passport bio page valid for at least six months beyond intake.
• Class X and XII mark sheets plus the Class XII provisional or final certificate.
• Bachelor’s transcripts and degree certificate for graduate applicants.
• Statement of Purpose (SOP) tailored to the department.
• Three Letters of Recommendation (LORs), two academic and one professional preferred for graduate.
• Resume or CV with internships, projects, and publications.
• TOEFL, IELTS, or TOEFL Essentials scorecard sent electronically from the test centre.
• GRE or GMAT score for programs that require it, dispatched via the test provider.
• Proof of funds (bank statement or affidavit) for the I-20, typically covering one year of expenses.
• Credential evaluation report (WES or ECE) if the department asks for it.

Texas A&M University Acceptance Rate for Indian Students

Texas A&M has an institution-wide acceptance rate of 57%, but admission rates vary significantly by programme. Competitive areas such as Mays Business, Dwight Look Engineering and Petroleum Engineering can be more selective than other undergraduate fields, so the overall rate should not be treated as a programme-specific figure.

Texas A&M University Student Visa Process in the USA

Admitted Indian students at Texas A&M University study on an F-1 student visa. After accepting the offer and submitting financial proof, Texas A&M issues the I-20. Students then pay the SEVIS I-901 fee of USD 350 (INR 33,513), complete the DS-160, and book a visa interview at a US consulate in India. The visa application fee is an additional USD 185 (INR 17,714).
