Programs

Courses at the UMFlint include more than 100 bachelor’s and 35+ postgraduate degrees, doctoral degrees and certificate programs.

UMC Programs

The different schools are the College of Arts & Sciences, College of Health Sciences, School of Management, School of Education & Human Services, School of Nursing and Office of the Provost.

Campus

Located in Flint, Michigan, the campus is smaller as compared to the subsidiary one in Ann Arbor. Often referred to as the Downtown campus, the Flint campus is positioned among the top safest college campuses in Michigan, United States.

UMC Campus

Being only an hour’s drive to Ann Arbor, East Lansing, Saginaw, Canada, Detroit, and other destinations, it is at the center of Flint’s reinvention.

Quick fact: The students of UMFlint are often referred by their nickname “Wolverines”. 

Accommodation

University of Michigan – Flint offers separate on-campus housing to undergraduate as well as graduate students. To be considered for accommodation at the campus, students will have to fill up the housing application and sign the contract along with a housing deposit fee of 250 USD.

First Street Residence Hall is for freshmen and undergraduate students and offers apartment-style housing. The four-storey building is keyless and has suites with 4 or 2 bedrooms and double suites with 2 bedrooms. The suites consist of kitchen, wireless internet, laundry services, etc.

Graduate and upper-class students are housed in Riverfront Residence Hall which has apartment-style suites with a capacity of up to 5 students along with optional meal plans available.

Application Process

Where to Apply: International undergraduates can either head over to the official application portal or apply through the common application. Whereas, graduates may refer to the international graduate application website. 

Application Fee: Graduates are required to submit a non-refundable application fee of 55 USD while for undergraduates the application(paper-based) fee is 30 USD

Scholarships and Financial Aids

University of Michigan- Flint offers Freshman Merit Scholarships to incoming freshman students. No separate application is required and the students are selected for the scholarship on merit basis. The scholarships are renewable and range from 3,000 USD to 7,000 USD. Minimum requirements to be eligible for the scholarship are -

Alumni Network

University of Michigan – Flint has an alumni network of more than 46,000 alumni. 80% of the alumni are natives of Michigan. The alumni of the university are spread across the world and have started careers and businesses. A number of benefits are given to the alumni. They receive a free one- year membership Alumni Association of the University of Michigan (AAUM).

The career service staff is there to assist them with a job search or career change. The Alumni Scholarship for Excellence is offered to the children, spouse or grandchildren of the alumni of UM-Flint.
