Framingham State University admissions, with an acceptance rate of 73%, are not extremely competitive. The university generally accepts top-scoring candidates as 48% of total first year candidates holding GPA of 3.0 or higher..University had a total enrolment of 5691 students for fall 2018. Framingham State University International Student Admissions

The admission process for international applicants is same as that for the US applicants. However, international applicants have to meet additional requirements. Also, they have to carefully review their visa related documents.

FSU also offers admission to international transfer applicants and enrolls approximately 600 transfer students every year.Transfer applicant does not require anything special, just the standard documents such as ACT/SAT scores, CLEP/AP examinations scores etc.

Admission Requirements for International Students

  • Academic records/transcripts & also the evaluation of transcripts will only done by following organizations :the Center for Educational Documentation (CED) or World Education Services (WES)
  • SAT/ACT Scores
  • GRE/GMAT exam scores as per program requirement.
  • English proficiency test scores for non-native English speakers.
  • Must have an overall GPA of 2.75 and a GPA of 3.00 in the major.
  • Letter of recommendation with cover forms
  • A copy of personal statement (If applicable)
  • Resume or written description of activities

English Proficiency Test Score for International Students

International applicants can submit the TOEFL and/or IELTS scores to demonstrate English proficiency. The minimum required scores by the university are given below. However, applicants must note that several departments may different score requirements.

Visa Process for International Students

  • To obtain an I-20 send the following documents to university
    • Completed registration form
    • Completed Certificate of Finances form
    • Official bank letter (not bank statement)
    • Photocopy of the picture page of the passport.
  • If I-20 is approved, then it will be sent to applicant’s U.S. contact or mailed to there respective foreign address.
  • Once the I-20 is received, candidates have to log on to the SEVIS website to pay the required $200 fee and obtain the necessary receipt needed to apply for the F-1 Visa at their local U.S. embassy.
  • After obtaining F-1 Visa, contact the ELP office to register and pay for classes.

English proficiency scores are the same for all graduate programs (minimum score of 550 paper-based or 79 IBT or IELTS 6.0)

For Graduate programs, Deadlines for International applicants is July 1 (Fall) & Nov 1 (Spring)

Admission to Framingham State University is little bit assertive, not all candidates satisfying these minimum standards can be admitted. The applicant needs to exceed these requirements to get admission. The university gives the application decision within 3-4 weeks of submission, however, students who are selected for secondary review will be issued their final admissions decision 2 weeks prior before the commencing of classes.

International applicants are advised to fill the application 1-2 week prior to the deadline to avoid any late requirements (which often tends to rejection)
