Programs offered at Knox College

The college offers a bachelor of arts and bachelor of science degree in various disciplines. There is a total of 42 majors and 51 minors to choose from. Some of the popular majors include history, architecture, medicine, nursing, business and management, computer science, music, philosophy, psychology, biology, and many others.

Some of the popular minors include health studies, Japanese, journalism, archaeology, astronomy, Chinese, design, statistics, dance studies, arts administration and many more.

Residence Facilities at Knox College

More than 95% of students choose to stay on campus. Three different housing facilities are available, residence halls, apartments, and houses. There is a total of 9 residence halls namely, Conger neal halls, Elder Campbell halls, Griffith Longden drew Simonds halls, Hamblin Hall, Post hall, Raub sullen hall, Seymour Hall, Sherwin Neifert furrow hall, Williston hall.

Students can choose single or double occupancy rooms as per their requirements. Apartments are only made available to the upper-class through a lottery system.

Houses accommodate a dozen or so of students. There is a total of 25 houses available for students.

Knox College was established in 1837. The college is spread across 82 acres of land in Galesburg, Illinois, US. The campus includes 45 residential and academic buildings. The college holds a student body of more than 1200 students. Among these, more than 95% of students reside on campus. With a total of 120 faculty members, the student-teacher ratio accounts to be 11:1.

The college supports more than 100 students clubs and organizations which are responsible for conducting various student development programs.

English Proficiency Requirements:

English proficiency requirements: 80 on internet-based TOEFL, 6.5 band score in IELTS, 105 in Duolingo English test, 1200 in Global test of English communication. (Any one of the mentioned test scores)

Financial aid for international students

International students can avail financial aids in the form of various scholarships. Students are required to fill the form for financial aid at the time of application for admission.

Scholarships can be availed on an academic basis or on the basis of any other talent which one possesses like an artist, musician, composer, poet, award winner, entrepreneur, etc.

Such scholarships for international students to study in the US are provided after proper auditions and portfolio submissions. Scholarships are renewable as long as the required academic criteria are fulfilled. The scholarship is limited to tuition fees only. Any expense crossing that limit will not be covered under any scholarship.

    KNOX'S COLLEGE REVIEW

    I chose Knox for its population size. We have less than 3000 people on campus, including faculty and staff. And being introverted, I really think that is important. I also was very taken with their study abroad programs.


    Course Curriculum - 

    I think it is very challenging because it is a trimester system. Which makes the courses feel more intense than they actually are. It would be better if it were spaced out over the course of a semester.
