High Point University International Students Admissions

The admission process for international applicants is the same as that for US applicants. However, international applicants have to meet a few additional requirements. Also, the visa process review is also done very carefully.

Admission Requirements for International Students

Along with the application, the following documents must also be submitted:

  • Certified and translated academic records/transcripts
  • Students’ guidance or counsellor should submit completed Common App’s School Report Form.
  • Letter of recommendation.
  • SAT or ACT scores if considered for Presidential Scholarship or Honors Scholar Program. The result should be sent to the office of the admissions.
  • Advanced proficiency in English- TOEFL/ IELTS/Duolingo/MELAB/iTEP scores.
  • Certificate of financial support.
  • Copy of passport, visa, or permanent residence card.

Visa Process for International Students

International students can obtain the F-1 Visa through the following steps-

Candidates should respond to the acceptance letter, mailed from the Undergraduate Admissions office. To receive the Form of I-20 from the University Admissions Office, students must submit the following documents:

  • Certificate of Financial Support
  • Photocopy of passport
  • Deposit of 500 USD (paid online by login to MyHPU page)
  • If an international student already has an F-1 visa, they must complete the F-1 visa transfer document
  • Complete the online non-immigrant visa application
  • Pay the SEVIS fee
  • Apply for F-1 Visa at U.S. Embassy or Consulate and prepare for an interview
  • Requisite Documents for Visa Interview- Valid passport (at least 6 months), Non-Immigrant Visa Application Form DS-160 confirmation page, Fee receipt and I-20 Form.
