Eligibility & Entry Requirement
Following are the requirement of the program:
- All students must demonstrate an appropriate level of mathematics and computer science proficiency.
- A student must maintain a GPA of 3.0 or better for all prerequisites and all graduate courses are taken at the University of Houston.
Computer Science provides a theoretical and applied understanding of various specialties in the computing field. This program places a strong emphasis on a specialty to ensure students gain the in-demand skills and knowledge necessary for today’s careers in computing. Students can also complete a minimum of 30 credit hours, with no thesis requirement.

During work-study, students with demonstrated financial need work a part-time job, on- or off-campus to earn money toward their college expenses. Most students work 12 to 20 hours each week during the academic year.
