Indiana University of Pennsylvania was founded in 1875 and offers admissions to more than 140 undergraduate degree programs, 55 master’s programs and 14 doctoral courses. The institute is a renowned name in the US Education System that received some 12,177 applications in the Fall of 2019 and offered admissions to around 2,110 postgraduates and 9,215 undergraduates. 

This reflects a high acceptance rate of nearly 93% observed by the institute which makes it a very lightly selective university in the country. Furthermore, it also highlights that any candidate with an impressive GPA and standardized scores is eligible for enrollment at the university. The average score of the admitted applicants for the SAT was 1050 and ACT was 22. An average GPA for the admitted students was somewhere around 3.39 and above.

The institute also provides an option of early admission to many of its graduate programs when students are still in their junior year of college. In order to apply for the Early Admissions program, students must have earned at least 15 credits in their major and 90 credits overall. They must also maintain a cumulative GPA of 3.25 or above.

Visa Process for International Students

Apply for a visa to study in the USA by following the below mentioned steps:

  • Pay the Student and Exchange Visitor Information System (SEVIS) fees.
  • Take an appointment for the visa process and be ready with documents like I-20 or DS-2019, SEVIS 1-901 fee receipt, Visa fee 160 USD, Valid passport, one passport photo, IUP acceptance letters, bank statements, etc.
  • Take the visa interview
  • Track your visa approval status on Visa application status.

Indiana University of Pennsylvania Undergraduate Admissions

Unless and until a student wants to enrol in an intensive English program at the American Language Institute, IUP does not allow international students to start their studies during summer.

Admission Requirements:

  • Complete an Undergraduate Application. Students can apply online or email in order to get an application to be mailed to them.

  •  All the international students that wish to take admission at IUP need to demonstrate their English Proficiency. However, residents of some countries are not required to do so.
