Visa Requirements for International Applicants

To study in the US, the applicant has to apply for an F1 visa through the local US Embassy or Consulate. For this particular type of Visa, the validity is 60 months, the applicant can have multiple entries in the country and the documents required are as follows:

  • Passport with validity for at least 6 months beyond the period of study
  • Non-immigrant Visa Application, Form DS-160
  • Photograph
  • Certificate of Eligibility
  • Transcripts, degrees, diplomas or certificates of previous education
  • Standardized test scores required by the school
  • Intent to depart the US upon completion of course of study
  • Method or means of payment of all educational, living and travel costs.

As part of the application process, the applicant will have to schedule an interview with the consular officer and at the end, the biometric information of the applicant will be taken in to record.
