Credential verification through WES or a comparable NACES member is standard for Indian transcripts and should be initiated at least six to eight weeks before the target deadline. The graduate tuition deposit is USD 500 after admission, while undergraduate applicants pay a USD 150 tuition deposit and a USD 250 housing deposit.
Planning note: Indian applicants targeting Fall 2027 should submit the Common App or graduate portal application by early May 2027 so that the I-20 issuance, US embassy visa slot and pre-departure processes complete before the August orientation window.

Saint Peter’s University Admission Requirements for Indian Applicants 2027
Saint Peter’s University Admission Requirements for Indian Applicants 2027 focus on academic transcripts, English proficiency, and program-specific documentation. The university is test-optional for standardized tests and charges no application fee at any level.
Postgraduate applicants:
- Academic: Recognised bachelor’s degree with 55% or CGPA 5.5/10 (recommended); STEM MS tracks may prefer quantitative undergraduate coursework
- English test (any of): TOEFL iBT 79 (0-120 legacy scale), IELTS 6.5, PTE Academic 53, or Duolingo English Test 120
- Credential verification: WES or comparable NACES-member evaluation of Indian transcripts
- Below-threshold pathway: Interview with the program director required if English scores fall short of the minimum
Undergraduate applicants:
- Academic: Class 12 completion with 70% to 85% (recommended); Nursing tracks favor Class 12 Science at 75% or higher
- English test (any of): TOEFL iBT 79 (0-120 legacy scale), IELTS 6.5, or PTE Academic 53; medium-of-instruction substitution is not accepted for Indian applicants
- Test-optional: SAT and ACT scores are optional for admission but may be considered for the highest merit scholarships
Key insight: Indian applicants who cannot meet the TOEFL 79 or IELTS 6.5 threshold should request an interview with the program director rather than assume rejection, as the international FAQ page confirms a below-threshold pathway is available.
Saint Peter’s University Acceptance Rate 2027
The Saint Peter’s University Acceptance Rate 2027 sits at 90% (estimated), based on Research.com and Niche aggregate data for the 2024-2025 cycle. The university does not publish an institutional acceptance-rate figure directly, so this number should be treated as an aggregate estimate rather than an official disclosure.
The high admit rate reflects Saint Peter’s University’s mission-driven, access-focused Jesuit profile in Regional Universities North. Selectivity varies by program, and STEM-designated MS tracks maintain higher standards on quantitative preparation than the headline rate suggests.
Reality check: A 90% aggregate acceptance rate does not mean automatic admission for Indian applicants. Undergraduate merit scholarship consideration still requires strong Class 12 grades or optional SAT scores, and STEM MS admissions committees review quantitative coursework closely.

Saint Peter’s University Campus, Facilities and Student Life
The Saint Peter’s University main campus is set in Jersey City’s McGinley Square neighbourhood, about 25 minutes from Midtown Manhattan by PATH train. The compact urban campus houses roughly 3,500 students across undergraduate and graduate programs.
- Location and transport: Journal Square PATH station connects to Manhattan in 15 minutes, and NJ Transit buses reach Newark Liberty International Airport in around 30 minutes
- Housing: On-campus residence halls host first-year and sophomore undergraduates, with graduate students typically renting shared apartments in Journal Square or the Bergen-Lafayette area
- Notable facilities: The Frank J. Guarini School of Business houses IBM-integrated MBA labs, and the Yanitelli Center anchors athletics and NCAA Division I basketball
- Indian student community: The South Asian Student Association organises Diwali and Holi events, and Indian graduate cohorts in Data Science and MBA tracks form the largest single international group on campus
- Career location advantage: Jersey City hosts a growing financial services and fintech cluster, and Indian students regularly intern at nearby New York metro firms alongside those at other universities in USA
What Indian students say: The Manhattan proximity is the single biggest draw for Indian graduate students, since weekend internships and networking events across the river remain accessible on a student budget. On-campus dining is limited, so most Indian students cook at home or order from South Asian restaurants along Newark Avenue.
Saint Peter’s University Scholarships 2027
Saint Peter’s University Scholarships 2027 include four verified named awards for international applicants, with merit funding concentrated at the undergraduate level and limited academic merit awards at the graduate level per the international FAQ.
| Scholarship | Type | Award Value | Eligibility | Deadline |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| International Student Scholarship | Merit | Verify at official page | High-achieving international undergraduates | Aligned with admission deadline |
| Presidential Scholarship | Merit | Significant tuition offset (verify at official page) | Top academic performers at undergraduate level | Fall intake priority |
| Bishop John Barres International Mission Scholarship | Merit-Service | Verify at official page | International students with humanitarian service in home country | Fall intake priority |
| Athletic Scholarship | Athletic | Verify at official page | NCAA-eligible student-athletes | Rolling per coach recruitment |
Graduate applicants should contact the Dean of International Enrolment directly for current scholarship availability, since the university notes limited academic merit awards for graduate students on its international FAQ. External funding from the JN Tata Endowment and Inlaks Shivdasani Foundation is worth exploring for Indian applicants.
Planning note: Indian undergraduate applicants who submit optional SAT or ACT scores unlock the highest merit-based awards, including the Presidential Scholarship, so a strong test score can meaningfully reduce the USD 41,770 sticker tuition.

Key insight: Saint Peter’s University’s absence from QS and THE world tables does not affect US F-1 visa eligibility or STEM OPT rights. Indian applicants should weigh the #2 Best Value and #5 Social Mobility recognitions as more actionable signals for return on tuition invested.

Saint Peter’s University Placements and Career Outcomes 2027
Saint Peter’s University Placements and Career Outcomes 2027 draw from the university’s Jersey City proximity to the New York metro job market, especially in financial services, healthcare and technology consulting.
- Employment rate: Not officially disclosed by the university; market context suggests strong New York metro employability for STEM-designated MS graduates
- Median starting salary (market range): USD 50,000 to USD 65,000 (INR 47.87 lakh to INR 62.24 lakh) for bachelor-level graduates in the region
- Top sectors: Financial services, healthcare administration, technology consulting, and public sector organisations in the tri-state area

Insider note: Indian graduates from the STEM-designated MBA and MS Data Science tracks typically use the 24-month STEM OPT extension to secure H-1B sponsorship, since the longer work window meaningfully improves H-1B lottery odds compared with the 12-month base OPT.

Comparison focuses on Collegedunia Study Abroad standing where available and the typical graduate profile for Indian applicants when benchmarked against other MBA universities in USA.

Saint Peter’s University stands out on cost-per-credit for STEM MS tracks and on the zero-application-fee policy across all programs, which lowers Indian applicant entry friction. The Jersey City location also delivers Manhattan access without New York City tuition premiums.
Saint Peter’s University fits Indian applicants who want a STEM-designated MBA or MS Data Science route into New York metro roles. The total invested cost sits near INR 34 lakh against a market-median salary of INR 48 to INR 62 lakh. Jersey City location, no application fee, and F-1 STEM-OPT eligibility together anchor the value proposition.
Applicants targeting a top-tier world research university or a lower tuition ceiling should look elsewhere. Rutgers University or NJIT offers stronger research funding and larger cohorts for that applicant profile.
Saint Peter’s University FAQs
Ques. Does Saint Peter’s University charge an application fee for Indian applicants?
Ans. Saint Peter’s University charges no application fee at any level for Indian applicants, including undergraduate, graduate and international admissions. The zero-fee policy is confirmed on the Common Application profile and the university’s international FAQ page. Indian applicants save the typical USD 50 to USD 100 per-application charge that most US private universities levy, which makes Saint Peter’s viable as either a primary target or a low-cost secondary application.
Ques. Can Indian students waive the English test at Saint Peter’s University?
Ans. Saint Peter’s does not grant an English-test waiver for Indian applicants based on medium of instruction. The waiver applies only to nationals of Canada, Australia, Ireland, New Zealand and the United Kingdom. Indian applicants must submit TOEFL iBT 79, IELTS 6.5, PTE Academic 53, or Duolingo 120 for graduate programs. Applicants who fall short can request an interview with the program director as an alternative pathway to admission consideration.
Ques. Do Saint Peter’s University graduate programs require GRE or GMAT?
Ans. Saint Peter’s University is test-optional for graduate admissions, and MBA and MS applicants can typically apply without a GRE or GMAT score. Program directors may request scores case by case if the undergraduate transcript is borderline on quantitative preparation. Applicants with strong scores are still encouraged to submit them, since a competitive GRE or GMAT can strengthen scholarship consideration and offset any perceived gaps in undergraduate coursework.
Ques. How many hours can international students work at Saint Peter’s per week?
Ans. F-1 international students at Saint Peter’s University can work up to 20 hours per week on-campus during active academic terms and full-time during official breaks, per standard US federal regulations. Off-campus work requires Curricular Practical Training authorisation after the first academic year for internships tied to the curriculum. Post-graduation, Optional Practical Training authorises 12 months of full-time employment, extendable by 24 months for STEM-designated program graduates.
Ques. Which Indian banks recognise Saint Peter’s University for education loans?
Ans. Saint Peter’s University is a US Department of Education recognised accredited institution, which makes it eligible for education loans from most Indian lenders including SBI, HDFC Credila, Axis Bank, ICICI Bank, Avanse Financial Services and Auxilo. Indian applicants should submit the university admission letter, I-20 and estimated cost of attendance to lenders. Collateral-free loans up to INR 40 lakh are available from select non-banking financial companies for STEM-designated MBA and MS tracks.
Ques. Is health insurance mandatory for Indian students at Saint Peter’s University?
Ans. Health insurance is mandatory for all F-1 international students at Saint Peter’s University for the duration of enrolment, per US federal visa compliance and university policy. The university enrolls international students in a group student health insurance plan by default, and the premium is added to the semester tuition invoice. Indian students can request a waiver only if they hold a comparable US-based plan that meets the university’s minimum coverage standards.
Ques. Should Indian applicants use Common App or the direct portal at Saint Peter’s?
Ans. Undergraduate international applicants must apply via the Common Application, which opened for the 2026-27 cycle on 1 August 2026 and remains the only accepted platform for freshman admissions. Graduate applicants should use the direct online portal on the Saint Peter’s University international apply page, since Common App does not process graduate admissions. Both platforms are free of charge, and choosing the correct route from the outset avoids downstream document duplication issues.
Ques. Which Saint Peter’s University graduate programs carry STEM designation?
Ans. Saint Peter’s University’s STEM-designated graduate programs include MBA concentrations in Business Analytics, Cyber Security, Data Science, Artificial Intelligence and Strategic Management, and AI and Machine Learning, alongside the standalone MS Data Science, MS Business Analytics and MS Cyber Security tracks. STEM designation qualifies international graduates for the 24-month STEM OPT extension on top of the standard 12-month OPT. This makes these tracks the most popular choices among Indian applicants prioritising US work authorisation.
