Programs, Campus and Accommodation

Campus

  • The vibrant 22-acres campus is located in the heart of Milwaukee, just a few miles away from Lake Michigan.
  • The Campus Center is the social centre of the university campus where the students meet to play pool and other games. 
  • There is an on-campus library and a bookstore. The campus also has 24/7 security services.
  • It has over 90 student’s organizations which foster student’s interaction.
  • The city life is excellent. Just around the campus, you will find 17 museums, 25 theatres and many more.
  • Campus is located at a convenient location from where sports, music and shopping facilities are in close vicinity. Within the walking distance one can find 30 seasonal festivals, 17 museums and more than 100 miles track for walking or cycling.

Housing Facilities/Residence

  • The university provides 3 residence halls which are Johnson Hall, Loock Hall and Regents Hall.
  •  It is necessary for freshmen and sophomores who are under 21 to stay at the campus unless their home lie within 30 miles. However, one of the residence halls is dedicated to only the upper class.
  • The residence halls have Themed Living Communities where various extracurricular activities take place like Robotics, Outdoor Adventures, etc.
  • Each hall has both single rooms and double rooms. All the rooms have all the required furniture. 
  • Multiple services are offered to the residence halls like laundry services, cable-TV, high-speed internet service and many more.
  • There is also a cafeteria on the ground floor of Johnson Hall.

Courses

  • The institute provides an array of courses for international students that includes 15 bachelor’s degree courses taught across its 8 departments.
  • Despite focusing on bachelor’s degrees, the school offers 11 master’s degree programs in engineering, nursing and business.
  • Apart from that, it also offers a number of professional courses to the students.
  • As per the U.S. News & World Report 2020, some of the best engineering programs are offered by the institute.
  • These programs include Mechanical Engineering, Computer Science Engineering, Electrical Engineering and Civil Engineering.

Scholarships/Financial Aid

The institute provides different types of financial aids for its candidates like grants, loans and scholarships for international students to study in the USA. Around 99% full-time undergraduate students receive some form of financial aid from the university. The average need based scholarship offered to the students is of USD 25,716 each.

Federal Pell Grant is a need-based scholarship. It is given to the undergraduate students who meet the Satisfactory Academic Progress. The students must fill up the Free Application for Federal Student Aid application form to apply for the scholarship. No financial grant is given to the graduate international students.

Merit-based scholarships: 

  • The institute does provide merit-based awards for its candidates, the amount for which range up to half of the total tuition fee.
  • The eligibility depends on the splendid merit performance judged through overall GPA and ACT/SAT scores.

Students can also opt for work-study by working part-time on campus. However, they must ensure to manage their studies and jobs to not let their education be compromised in any way.

Alumni Network

  • University alumni network is quite extended and numerous services are provided to the alumni.
  • The alumni can spend the summer at MSOE and catch up with their old friends and faculty. They get free admission to The Grohmann Museum.
  • Career Services are also provided to the alumni. They get access to the Walter Schroeder Library.
  • Some of the notable alumni include Robert Bettinardi, Dwight Diercks and James I. Finley.

Placements

The Annual Career Service Fair 2019 has attracted over 330 employers. About 80-85% of students receive internship opportunities prior to graduation.

The average salary of a B.S. graduate is 65,428 USD. The students of the 2018-2019 batch were hired by 221 employers.

    They gave me the most financial aid out of all the schools I applied to. All of my tuition was covered by the college. They were also really close to home and the program at this school was good for what I wanted to study.
