With an acceptance rate of roughly 65%, Cornell College admissions are lightly competitive. Cornell makes use of a block schedule. This special academic calendar, named One Course at a Time (OCAAT), consists of eight blocks of 18 days each.

  • Applications are invited for fall and spring sessions.
  • Applicants can apply either through the Cornell Application or the Common Application.

Cornell College International Admissions

For Cornell College admissions, international applicants must submit academic transcripts from all previously attended institutions sent directly to the admission office. Official transcripts that are not in English must be accompanied along with the certified English translation.

Admission Requirements for International Students

  • Evidence of English proficiency for non-native English speakers.
  • Teacher’s recommendation (optional).
  • An updated portfolio consisting of all the work done up to date.
  • Secondary School Report concluded by the candidate or the Guidance Counselor.
  • A personal essay or writing sample
  • 2 Short answer questions for applicants opting for no-test option
  • Cornell College International Financial Ability form with an attached financial statement.

Visa Process for International Students

  • International applicants will be issued Form I-20 from the college
  • Applicants will need to provide the following documents to receive the Form I-20:
    • Copy of passport
    • Proof of financial support
    • Bank statement
    • Sponsor letter, if applicable
  • Complete the I-20 and pay the SEVIS I-901 fee.
  • Applicants then need to apply for the F-1 or J-1 visa. Submit the form and pay the application fee.
  • Schedule and attend the visa interview

Cornell College Undergraduate Admissions

Cornell College offers more than 30 undergraduate programs.

Admission Requirements: Applicants must provide the following documents at the time of admission:

  • High school diploma/transcript
  • SAT/ACT scores are considered but not compulsory

The students who apply under the Early Action plan must postmark their application by November 1. By applying Early Action, applicants will receive priority admission and scholarship consideration. If admitted to the college, a $300 deposit is due by May 1.

Regular Decision applicants will be notified of their admission status no later than April 1.
