    Test score ranges for 25th to 75th percentiles were 720-770 on SAT Verbal, whereas SAT Match score range was 740-800. 86.7% of the accepted first-years in 2019 had an ACT score ranging from 33 to 35. About 92% of the accepted applicants were among the top 10% of their high school class.

    How to Apply for Yale University

    Apply through either:

    • Common Application : Students applying through Common App have to submit Yale specific questions. It’s easy for counsellors or teachers to fill LOR’s since they are familiar with the Common App. 
    • Coalition Application : If students apply through Coalition App, they might benefit from the resources offered to complete college applications. Also the unique digital locker helps them to collect those materials that are required for completing an application.

    Admission Requirements for International Students

    Students are required to submit either ACT or SAT score along with the application. These scores are valid for a period of 5 years only. Scores will not be accepted, if tests are taken after high school. The following table shows the average scores:

    Yale University Graduate Admission Requirements

    Different graduate schools at Yale University offer more than 2,000 courses to interested students. Most graduate courses at Yale have different requirements, application process and application fee.

    How to apply: There are different portals for desired courses. The applications are filed through their respective school’s website.

    When to apply: Deadlines vary with each course and school. Students are admitted in the Fall season only. The applications are accepted a year before course commencement.

    Other requirements that applicants must keep in mind while applying for visa are:

    • The cost of getting documents evaluated ranges from USD 85 to 140 USD, depending upon the duration of need of documents.
    • All documents that would be submitted by international students must be in English. If they are not in English, authentic translated copies of the documents should be uploaded or submitted from a qualified translator.
    • Students applying for Graduate courses must upload official financial statements before applying for a visa.
    • Students are notified of their admission status on Yale Admissions Status Portal, around March end.

    If accepted, international applicants will need to obtain an F-1 or J-1 visa to study at Yale University. Students must consult the OISS (Office of International Students & Scholars) to prepare well for their immigration-related procedure and queries.

    Only after the offer is accepted on or before May 1 (for UG), can international students apply for a US visa. The OISS usually issues immigration visa (I-20) within two weeks. After receiving the I-20 visa, international applicants can pay the SEVIS Fee of USD 350 for obtaining their F-1 visa.
