School of Visual Arts provides undergraduate degree BFA in 11 different visual and audio-visual majors. The college provides 4 different master's degrees, MFA, MA, MAT, and MPS.
The institute teaches Masters courses across 12 MFA, 2 MA, 1 MAT, and 5 MPS majors respectively. The students can also enroll in Summer Residency programs in 6 different subjects. The programs offered are in the fields of Visual Arts, Cartooning, Animation, Design, Film, Interior Designing, Humanities and Sciences, and Video and Photography.
Depending on the affordability of the students, single, double and triple bedroom residences are available for on-campus housing of the students. School of Visual Arts follows a Gender-Inclusive policy for on-campus housing, but they are given only on student's requests.
Otherwise, different housings are available for male and female students. The residence halls at the School of Visual Arts range from 16,600 USD to 19,950 USD. The institute was started in 1947 as Cartoonists and Illustrators School and was given its current name in 1956. Currently, it stretches through two vast campus blocks in New York, one at 209 East 23rd Street, and the other at 133/144 West 21st street. There are one student's center and one SVA Theatre inside the campus.
