Weber State University admissions follow an access-oriented model, meaning most qualified Indian applicants gain admission. Undergraduate applicants need Class XII 65 percent, while postgraduate applicants need Bachelor’s 75 percent alongside an English score.

  • Next deadline: Spring 2027 UG priority closes 1 November 2026, four weeks away.
  • Fees: Base tuition from USD 21,462 (INR 20.28 Lakhs) yearly plus USD 60 (INR 5,670) application fee.
  • Eligibility: Class XII 65% with IELTS 6.0 for UG, Bachelor’s 75% with IELTS 6.5 for PG.
  • Acceptance: Weber State admits nearly all applicants meeting minimum requirements under open enrollment.

Popular Indian-student picks include BS Computer Science, MS Nursing, and the Goddard MBA. Students note responsive advising and Ogden’s affordable living costs. See the Weber State University overview for campus and student-life detail.

Admission status: Closing Soon. The Spring 2027 undergraduate priority deadline closes 1 November 2026, only 4 weeks away. Weber State’s primary Fall 2027 intake remains open through 1 May 2027 for UG and 1 April 2027 for PG. The international application fee is USD 60 (around INR 5,670), payable on the WSU admissions portal.

Weber State University Application Deadlines

Weber State University operates rolling admission with priority deadlines that shape scholarship review and I-20 processing. Indian applicants should target the earliest date to leave room for financial documentation and visa slots. Deadlines below are sourced from the Weber State international admissions page.

Weber State’s primary intake for Indian students is Fall (August), where nearly every undergraduate and graduate program opens.

Currency note: All INR figures in this article use USD 1 = INR 94.50, the live rate on 8 September 2026. Live rates may vary, so confirm with your bank before remitting.

Application review begins once every document reaches the WSU International Admissions office. Missing an English test score or a bank statement will stall the review, so Indian applicants target 60 to 90 days before the deadline for document readiness.

Planning note: If the Spring 2027 window slips, pivot straight to Fall 2027. Building buffer time before a US embassy F-1 slot search is more valuable than rushing an incomplete Spring file.

Weber State University Eligibility for Indian Students

Weber State University sets simple, published minimums that Indian applicants can meet without a specialised profile. Academic thresholds sit low by US standards, and English requirements have several waiver routes for English-medium Indian schools.

  • UG general entry: Class XII with 65 percent or higher, no subject group locked.
  • UG STEM entry: Class XII with Mathematics and Science, 65 percent or higher.
  • PG general entry: Bachelor’s degree with 3.0 GPA (around 75 percent in Indian terms).
  • PG competitive entry: Bachelor’s with 3.25 GPA (around 78 percent) for MBA, MSN, MPAcc.

English-language proof is required unless a waiver applies. Weber State accepts the tests listed below, and Indian applicants can pick whichever they scored highest on.

Weber State University IELTS Waiver for Indian Students

Weber State University waives the English test for Indian applicants in three defined cases. This is stated on the WSU English proficiency page.

  • English-medium prior study: A completed degree or two years of full-time study at an English-medium institution.
  • SAT/ACT alternative: SAT Evidence-Based Reading 480+ or ACT English 18+ substitutes for undergraduate English proof.
  • WSU LEAP pathway: Completion of Weber State’s Learning English for Academic Purposes program at level 5.

Insider note: Indian students from CBSE, ICSE, or IB schools should ask their school to issue a Medium of Instruction (MOI) certificate on institutional letterhead. Weber State accepts this for the English-medium waiver.

Weber State University PG Programs and English Scores

Weber State’s Goddard School of Business, Dumke College of Health Professions, and College of Science host the largest graduate cohorts for Indian applicants. Program-specific requirements often add prerequisite coursework, especially in health and business fields.

Base graduate tuition starts at USD 18,900 (INR 17.86 Lakhs) yearly for international students. Program-specific rates and cost of attendance sit on the detailed fee breakdown page.

Weber State University MBA Admissions

The Goddard School MBA runs three tracks tailored to different applicant profiles. Full-time and online tracks admit Indian applicants for Fall and Spring intakes, with priority deadlines set well before the term. Dates below come from the Goddard MBA admissions page.

Weber State University MBA GMAT and Waiver Policy

The Goddard MBA requires GMAT 500 or GRE 300, but four documented waivers apply. Indian applicants with strong professional records commonly qualify for waivers.

  • Work experience waiver: Five years of professional experience with progressive responsibility.
  • GPA waiver: Undergraduate cumulative GPA of 3.5 or higher (roughly 82 percent).
  • Terminal degree waiver: Existing master’s or doctoral degree from an accredited institution.
  • Professional certification waiver: Active CPA, CFA, CMA, or equivalent professional licence.

Weber State University MBA Interview Process

Shortlisted applicants attend a virtual admissions interview after document review. Interviews last 20 to 30 minutes and focus on career goals, quantitative readiness, and MBA fit. Base MBA tuition sits at USD 19,224 (INR 18.16 Lakhs) yearly. Graduate assistantships and departmental awards are listed on WSU’s funding options for Indian students.

Insider note: The Weber State MBA is AACSB accredited, which matters for Indian regulators and employers evaluating a US MBA. Confirm the accreditation status of the specific track before enrolling.

Weber State University Application Process

Weber State University uses a single online application for both undergraduate and graduate levels. The steps below follow the official WSU admissions portal workflow for international applicants.

  1. Create your applicant account on the WSU admissions portal using a valid email and passport-matching name.
  2. Choose your programme and intake, selecting Fall 2027 as the primary intake for the widest program access.
  3. Pay the application fee of USD 60 (around INR 5,670) on the WSU admissions portal by credit card or wire.
  4. Upload transcripts, marksheets, and passport in scanned PDF form during the online submission stage.
  5. Send English test scores directly from IELTS, TOEFL, PTE, or Duolingo to Weber State using code 4941.
  6. Submit financial documentation showing at least USD 32,000 (around INR 30.24 Lakhs) available for the first year.
  7. Track your file in the applicant portal and respond to any document requests within 10 days.

Admission decisions typically arrive within 2 to 4 weeks of a complete file. Offers stay valid until the intake start date, and Indian students may request a one-year deferral in writing before their I-20 is issued.

Weber State University Documents Required

Weber State University accepts scanned uploads at the application stage, with originals or attested copies required after admission. The paperwork list below reflects the WSU International Admissions checklist for Indian applicants.

  • Valid passport with the biographic page scanned in colour, valid for the full duration of study.
  • Class X and Class XII marksheets and pass certificates from CBSE, ICSE, or state board.
  • Bachelor’s transcripts and degree certificate (for PG applicants), consolidated marksheet with year-wise breakdown.
  • English test score report sent directly from the testing agency to Weber State University.
  • Statement of Purpose (SOP) of 500 to 700 words, tailored to the specific programme and career goals.
  • Two Letters of Recommendation (LORs) from professors or supervisors, submitted through the LOR portal link.
  • Updated CV or resume covering academics, internships, projects, and any published work.
  • Financial affidavit and bank statement proving USD 32,000+ (INR 30.24 Lakhs) in liquid funds for year one.
  • Passport-size photographs in US visa format for I-20 processing.
  • Program-specific documents such as a portfolio for BFA Digital Media or RN licence for MSN.

Planning note: Weber State does not require WES or ECE evaluation at the application stage. However, some graduate programs, especially nursing and education, request a course-by-course WES evaluation post-admission for licensure alignment.

Weber State University Acceptance Rate

Weber State University maintains an open enrollment policy, resulting in an acceptance rate of nearly 100 percent for undergraduate applicants meeting the stated minimums. This access-oriented approach applies to Indian applicants who clear the Class XII 65 percent and English score floors.

Weber State University Open Enrollment Approach

Open enrollment means admission is based on meeting published minimums, not competitive selection against a fixed cohort size. Weber State applies this to nearly every undergraduate programme, with two exceptions: nursing and certain health sciences use a secondary competitive review after prerequisite completion.

Weber State University Admission Standards for Indian Students

Graduate programs are more selective. MBA, MSN, MPAcc, and MHA typically admit 60 to 75 percent of qualified applicants. Rejection at graduate level usually stems from GPA below 3.0, missing prerequisites, or incomplete files rather than headcount limits. See Weber State’s ranking band for context on peer institutions.

Insider note: Open enrollment does not mean automatic admission. Indian applicants still fail on incomplete financial docs, expired English scores, or unreadable transcripts. Treat the application seriously even at an open-enrollment school.

USA F-1 Student Visa Process for Weber State University Students

Indian students admitted to Weber State University need the F-1 student visa to enter and study in the United States. The process begins after Weber State issues a Form I-20 confirming full-time enrolment.

Applicants pay the SEVIS I-901 fee of USD 350 (around INR 33,075) before scheduling the visa interview. The DS-160 online application is completed next, followed by the MRV visa fee of USD 185 (around INR 17,483). F-1 slots are booked at US consulates in Delhi, Mumbai, Chennai, Kolkata, or Hyderabad. Applicants attend a short in-person interview, present financial and academic documents, and typically receive the visa within 3 to 10 business days. Full step-by-step guidance sits in the USA F-1 visa process article.

Weber State University’s Designated School Official (DSO) supports Indian students on I-20 issues, SEVIS transfers, and OPT applications after arrival in Ogden. Post-study work options include 12-month OPT for most degrees, extended to 36 months total for STEM programmes.

2026 update: The US embassy in India resumed regular F-1 slot releases through May-July 2026 with expanded consular capacity. Book your Ogden intake at least 90 days ahead of program start to leave visa refusal buffer.

Weber State University Application Tips and Checklist

The following tips and steps are drawn from Indian-applicant patterns at Weber State University over the past three intakes. Combine them with your programme-specific timeline.

  • Book IELTS 6 months early: Test dates in Delhi and Mumbai fill up 8 to 10 weeks before Fall and Spring peaks.
  • Request transcripts 8 weeks before deadline: Indian boards and universities often take 4 to 6 weeks for attested copies.
  • Draft the SOP in three passes: First covers career goals, second aligns with Weber State programme, third tightens language.
  • Line up LOR writers by early September: Give recommenders four weeks and share your SOP with them for context.
  • Apply for the MOI certificate first: Most Indian schools issue this within a week and it unlocks the IELTS waiver.
  • Prepare financial docs 45 days before F-1 interview: Bank balance must be stable, not a last-minute large deposit.
  • Confirm scholarship overlap: Weber State merit awards apply automatically at admission, no separate application needed.
  • Schedule your visa slot on I-20 receipt day: Slots move fast during May-June and November-December.

Weber State University offers a straightforward admissions path for Indian students seeking a US degree at accessible cost. Its access-oriented model, published minimums, and USD 60 application fee make it a reasonable target for Indian applicants ready with a Class XII 65 percent record and IELTS 6.0.
