Grand Canyon University had an enrollment of about 90,000 students for Fall 2018 in undergraduate and graduate programs. The admission committee is moderately selective with acceptance rate of 73% in 2018 which increased from 67% in 2017.

The university has various undergraduate and graduate courses in the fields of business, education, fine arts, nursing, science, and engineering. The admission is merit-based. Evaluation of students for admission is on the basis of academic scores and performance in tests such as GRE/GMAT.

Visa process for International Students

Applicants will have to apply for an F class student visa from the US embassy in their country. They are required to arrange all the documents and apply for an appointment for a U.S student visa interview through the VFS website. Documents required for visa interview:-

  • A valid passport and previously issued passports
  • 2 or 3 recent passport size photograph.
  • DS-160 confirmation page with barcode
  • HDFC visa application fee receipts
  • VFS appointment letter
  • SEVIS receipt and I-120

Over 54,139 first year students and 13,289 transfer students enrolled in undergraduate programs for Fall 2018. University admitted 3,965 new students at the undergraduate level in Fall 2018 admission.

Admission requirements:

For first-year students:

  • High school GPA of 3.0 or above.
  • High school GPA of 2.5 or higher with an ACT score of 19 or SAT score (maths and reading only) on a 2400 point scale should be 1380 before January 2016 and 1000 after January 2016.
  • Following GED and transcript of all credit-bearing coursework:

For transfer students:Students transferring from another university/college must meet one of the following requirements:

  • 25-90 transferable college credits: Post-secondary (college) transcripts with an unweighted GPA of 2.25 or above
  • 6-24 transferable college credits: Post-secondary (college) transcripts with an unweighted GPA of 2.75 or above
  • 1-5 transferable college credits: See admission requirements for high school students
  • Bachelor's degree with an unweighted GPA of 2.0 or above

Grand Canyon University Graduate Admission

University offers admission to masters and doctoral programs at the graduate level. A GPA of 2.8 in Bachelors is required for masters admission while a GPA of 3.4 in Masters is required for admission to doctoral programs.

  • Undergraduate degree with a 2.8 GPA or higher.
  • GMAT score of 500 or above.
  • GRE score of 1000 combined verbal/ quantitative before August 2011 or 300 combined verbal/ quantitative after August 2011.
