Webster University International Student Admission

Webster University welcomes international students every year and has multiple campuses in several countries. They can apply to Webster University by fulfilling additional requirements like ELP, visa process and others.

Admission Requirements for International Students

  • Scanned copies of original transcripts.
    • The original documents must also be verified by an official of the university on arrival to the campus.
  • Proof of English proficiency in the form of TOEFL PBT, TOEFL iBT or IELTS, and PTE test scores.
    • Students can be admitted as ESL-Contingent if they do not fulfill these requirements.
  • Essay of 300-500 words, describing interests. The topic can be chosen by the student. A resume can also be submitted.
  • Letter of Recommendation (two)
  • Original and recent certificates of Finance must be submitted, as proof of financial support for 1 year, minimum.
  • Copy of Passport Id
  • Any additional requirements of specialty programs.

English Proficiency Test Scores

All international students must submit TOEFL PBT, TOEFL iBT or IELTS, and PTE test scores to qualify for admissions. The scores for undergraduate students differ from graduate students. The minimum score requirements are mentioned below:

Visa Process for International Students 

When applying for a Visa, students must fulfill the following :

  • During the admission process, submit proof of financial support, in the form of bank statements, letters, scholarship or loan approval letters, for all expenses in the first year. This applies to all F-1 and J-1 students.
  • A Form I-20, Certificate of Eligibility will be sent by the university to the student for F-1 Student Status or a Form DS-2019, Certificate of Eligibility for J-1 Exchange Visitor Status.
  • Pay I-901 SEVIS fee, as per the regulations of the United States Government. An F-1 student's fee is $200, while a J-1 student's fee is $180. Mode of payment is online transactions, mail, or wire transfer through Western Union.
  • Apply for a Visa within 120 days before receiving the Form I-20 or DS-2019. Complete the DS-160 Non-Immigrant Visa Application Form and print the confirmation page.
  • To pay the Visa Application Fee, students must follow the instructions on their local Consulate or US Embassy website.
  • Make an appointment for a Visa Interview online as soon as possible.
