Webster University admissions serves Indian students through six graduate terms and two undergraduate semesters a year, with a bachelor’s floor of Class XII at 65% (about 2.75 GPA) and a master’s floor of a recognised bachelor’s degree at 60% (about 2.5 GPA) on a 4.0 scale.
- Next live deadline: Fall 2027 (Webster University’s primary August intake) closes 1 June 2027 for undergraduate and graduate international applicants.
- Base tuition and fees: Undergraduate full-time base tuition is USD 33,360 (about INR 31.91 Lakhs) per year, with a USD 50 (about INR 4,783) application fee on the direct portal (free through the Common Application for undergraduate applicants).
- Eligibility floor: Class XII at 65% (about 2.75 GPA) for bachelor’s; a recognised bachelor’s degree at 60% (about 2.5 GPA) for master’s; TOEFL iBT 80, IELTS 6.0, or Duolingo 110 for either level.
- Acceptance rate: Webster University admits about 86% of undergraduate applicants, per US Department of Education College Scorecard data.
Indian students most often apply to Webster University for the Master of Business Administration, MS Cybersecurity, MS Data Analytics, and BS Computer Science, drawn by the six-term calendar and flat undergraduate tuition. Peer reviews on the Webster University overview page point to hands-on faculty advising and generous transfer credit as the recurring highlights.

Webster University Application Deadlines for Indian Students
Webster University uses a rolling admissions model, with individual term cut-offs typically 10 weeks before classes begin. Indian applicants should track both the university’s own portal and the Common Application track for undergraduate admission, per the official international admission process page. Webster University’s primary intake for Indian students is Fall (August), when most programs begin and financial-aid consideration is widest.
| Intake | Level | App Opens | Deadline | App Fee | Portal |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Fall 2027 (Aug) Primary intake | UG | Rolling | 1 June 2027 | USD 50 (INR 4,783); free on Common App | applywu / Common App |
| Fall 2027 (Aug) Grad Term 1 Primary intake | PG | Rolling | 1 June 2027 | USD 50 (INR 4,783) | applywu |
| Fall 2027 (Oct) Grad Term 2 | PG | Rolling | 15 August 2027 | USD 50 (INR 4,783) | applywu |
| Spring 2027 (Jan) | UG and PG | Rolling | 15 October 2026 | USD 50 (INR 4,783); free on Common App (UG) | applywu / Common App |
| Spring 2027 (Mar) Grad Term 2 | PG | Rolling | 1 January 2027 | USD 50 (INR 4,783) | applywu |
Planning note: The 15 October 2026 Spring 2027 cut-off is the nearest live window, but F-1 visa slots at Indian consulates fill quickly for January starts. Aim to secure your I-20 by mid-November if you want a workable slot at the Mumbai or Delhi US Consulate.
Webster University Eligibility for Indian Students
Eligibility at Webster University is set by GPA thresholds and English-proficiency floors that apply institution-wide, though individual programs may set higher bars. The rules below track the Webster undergraduate catalog and the graduate admission catalog.
- UG general entry: Class XII at 65% or higher (roughly a 2.75 GPA on a 4.0 scale) preferred; transfer applicants need at least 2.5 GPA.
- PG general entry: A recognised three or four-year bachelor’s degree at 60% or higher (about 2.5 GPA) from an accredited institution; conditional admission possible at 2.0 to 2.4 GPA.
- English proficiency: TOEFL iBT 80 (PBT 550), IELTS Academic 6.0, Duolingo English Test 110, or Pearson PTE Academic; scores must be sent officially by the testing body.
- Test-optional for SAT/ACT: Undergraduate applicants may submit ACT or SAT scores but are not required to; self-reported scores accepted for review.
- Conditional admission: Applicants below the GPA or English floor may be routed to Webster’s INTO pathway or ELS Level 112 with restricted course loads until they meet full-admit criteria.
Webster IELTS Waiver Pathways for Indian Students
India is not on Webster’s list of 33 automatic English-exempt countries, so most Indian applicants will submit a TOEFL, IELTS, Duolingo, or PTE score. However, the university publishes three concrete waiver routes an Indian applicant can qualify for.
- Completed US coursework: One full academic year of regionally accredited US college coursework taught in English, with passing grades.
- Approved ESL completion: ELS Level 112 certificate or the University of Central Florida CMMS program.
- Prior degree from an exempt country: A completed degree from any of Webster’s 33 English-speaking exempt countries (India-issued degrees do not qualify).
Insider note: Indian applicants with a strong 12th-standard English board score sometimes ask for a Medium of Instruction waiver. Webster’s international office reviews these on request, but the default answer is that a formal TOEFL, IELTS, Duolingo, or PTE score is expected. Register for the test early rather than rely on a waiver.
Webster University Graduate Programs and Test Scores
Webster University’s graduate portfolio spans over 60 master’s programs across the George Herbert Walker School of Business and Technology, School of Communications, and School of Education. Standard graduate base tuition is USD 800 per credit hour (about INR 76,528) for 2026-2027; cost-of-attendance detail and per-course rates live on the Webster University course-wise fees breakdown.
| Programme | Duration | Minimum Eligibility | English Req. Min. |

| MA Media Communications | 2 years | Bachelor’s at 60% with writing samples or portfolio | TOEFL 80 / IELTS 6.0 |
| MA Counseling | 2 to 3 years | Bachelor’s at 60%; interview stage after shortlist | TOEFL 80 / IELTS 6.0 |
Note: Program-specific entry requirements, fees, and intake availability may differ from the institution-wide minimums shown above. Always confirm on the official Webster University international admissions page for your chosen program before applying.
Webster University Undergraduate Programs and Requirements

Conservatory tuition sits higher at USD 38,780 (about INR 37.10 Lakhs) per year.

Webster University MBA Admissions and Requirements
The Webster University MBA runs from the George Herbert Walker School of Business and Technology, with rolling entry across the six graduate terms and the option to take one course at a time in 8 or 9-week blocks. Indian applicants can complete the degree in 18 to 24 months at the Saint Louis home campus or through Webster’s global network of study locations.
Webster MBA Requirements for Indian Applicants
- Academic floor: Recognised three or four-year bachelor’s degree at 60% or higher (about 2.5 GPA) from an accredited university.
- GMAT/GRE: Not required for standard MBA admission; the graduate catalog does not list a mandatory standardised test.
- Work experience: Not mandatory for the standard MBA, but professional experience strengthens the application and is expected for the Executive MBA track.
- English proficiency: TOEFL iBT 80, IELTS 6.0, or Duolingo 110.
- Interview: Case-by-case, requested by the admissions committee after transcript review for borderline profiles or Executive MBA applicants.
Webster MBA Duration, Fee, and Redirects
MBA credits fall under Webster’s standard graduate rate at USD 800 per credit hour (about INR 76,528). A typical 36-credit MBA runs to roughly USD 28,800 (about INR 27.55 Lakhs) in tuition alone. Detailed per-course pricing and merit funding for Indian students sits on the Webster University detailed fee breakdown.
WU EdD and Doctorate Admissions
Webster University’s doctoral offering centres on the Doctor of Education (EdD), aimed at working education leaders. Webster does not run a full range of research PhDs in the way an R1 university does, so Indian applicants seeking a research doctorate should confirm scope with the department before applying.
- EdD eligibility: Master’s degree at 3.0 GPA or higher in education, leadership, or a closely related field.
- Application materials: Statement of purpose, three professional references, current CV, and transcripts from all prior institutions.
- English proficiency: TOEFL iBT 80, IELTS 6.0, or Duolingo 110, same as master’s-level admission.
- Tuition: EdD tuition is USD 940 per credit hour (about INR 89,920) for 2026-2027; military and first-responder rate is lower at Webster Groves.
Reality check: Webster’s EdD is a practitioner doctorate, not a funded research PhD. Indian students expecting stipends similar to a US R1 assistantship should look elsewhere, but the programme suits mid-career educators returning to school on employer or self-funding.
Webster University Application Process
Indian applicants can apply to Webster University through two routes: the university’s own applywu portal for all levels, or the Common Application for undergraduate first-year and transfer applicants. The steps below follow the sequence used by the international admissions office.
- Choose your application route: create an account on the Webster University applywu portal (all levels) or on the Common Application Webster page (undergraduate only, no fee).
- Pay the application fee of USD 50 (about INR 4,783) on the applywu portal, or submit through Common App at no cost for eligible undergraduate applicants.
- Upload official transcripts from Class X, XII, and any prior college, with certified English translation for non-English documents.
- Send TOEFL, IELTS, Duolingo, or PTE scores officially from the testing body to Webster University.
- Attach a 300 to 500-word essay or a current resume, plus a copy of your passport ID page.
- Upload financial documentation (bank statement or sponsor letter, dated within three months of term start) covering at least one academic year of tuition and living costs.
- Submit letters of recommendation if requested by your program (Counseling, EdD, and some MA programs require them).
Admission Decisions at Webster University
Rolling review means decisions typically land within 2 to 4 weeks of a complete file. Admitted students receive an official offer letter and the I-20 form (Certificate of Eligibility) once financial documents clear review. Offers can be deferred to a later term within the same admission year on written request, so an Indian applicant admitted for Spring 2027 can defer to Fall 2027 if visa timing slips.
Documents Required for Webster University Applications
Webster University’s document checklist for Indian applicants is compact by US private-university standards, but every item must be current and formally certified. Prepare originals plus at least two colour scans of each item before opening the portal.
- Class X and XII marksheets and passing certificates (certified English translation if the original is not in English).
- Bachelor’s degree transcript and provisional or final degree certificate (for graduate applicants).
- Copy of your passport ID page, valid for at least six months past the intended entry date.
- Official TOEFL, IELTS, Duolingo, or PTE score report sent directly by the testing body.
- Statement of purpose or personal essay of 300 to 500 words, or an updated CV.
- One or more letters of recommendation from a teacher, professor, or employer (if requested by your program).
- Bank statement or sponsor affidavit (Certificate of Finance) confirming funds for one year of tuition and living costs.
- Digital passport-style photograph for the applywu profile.
Before you apply: Certified English translations from an Indian notary or sworn translator are accepted, but sealed university envelopes are still expected for bachelor’s transcripts. Do not open envelopes issued by your prior university before couriering them to Webster.
Webster University Acceptance Rate
Webster University’s institutional acceptance rate for undergraduate first-year applicants sits at about 86%, per US Department of Education College Scorecard data. That places the university among the more accessible US private institutions, particularly in the Midwest region, and reflects an admissions model that reviews prior academic accomplishment rather than filtering by test score alone.
Webster UG Acceptance Rate and Profile
Admitted first-year students sit in the 1110 to 1310 SAT range or 18 to 25 ACT range (middle 50%), with an average high school GPA of 3.64. Indian applicants with strong Class XII marks (75% or better) and a solid English score typically clear admission without difficulty; the challenge is scholarship stacking, not admission itself. Webster University’s Midwest regional ranking band gives useful peer context.
Webster PG Selectivity and Program Variation
Graduate acceptance is program-driven rather than a single institutional number. The MBA and MA programs are open-access at the stated GPA floor; MS Cybersecurity, MS Computer Science, and the EdD run more selective reviews because of cohort caps and prerequisite screening.
Insider note: A high acceptance rate does not mean guaranteed admission. Webster still rejects roughly one in seven undergraduate applicants and rejects a higher share at the graduate level when GPA sits below the floor or when English scores are marginal. Meet the floors properly rather than assume you will squeak in.
USA F-1 Student Visa Process for Webster University
Indian students admitted to Webster University enter the United States on the F-1 student visa, issued after the university sends the I-20 form (Certificate of Eligibility for Nonimmigrant Student Status). The process below is standard across US universities and is what the Webster international office walks Indian admits through after offer acceptance.
After receiving the I-20, pay the SEVIS I-901 fee of USD 350 (about INR 33,481), then complete the DS-160 online application and pay the visa fee of USD 185 (about INR 17,697). Book a visa interview slot at the US Consulate in Mumbai, Delhi, Kolkata, Chennai, or Hyderabad and attend with your I-20, passport, DS-160 confirmation, SEVIS receipt, financial proof, admission letter, and academic documents. STEM-designated programs at Webster (including MS Cybersecurity and MS Data Analytics) qualify for a 24-month OPT extension on top of the standard 12-month post-completion OPT.
2026 update: US Consulates in India continue to run heavy visa interview backlogs from June through August each year. If your Webster University I-20 is issued for Fall 2027, book your visa interview by April 2027 to avoid the peak-season slot crunch.
Webster University Tips and Application Checklist
The tips and steps below are drawn from Indian-applicant patterns at Webster University and are anchored to the rolling admissions calendar. Use them alongside the deadlines table above rather than as a substitute for it.
- Register for TOEFL or IELTS 4 months before your deadline: Indian test slots at high-demand centres (Delhi, Mumbai, Bengaluru) book out 8 to 10 weeks ahead.
- Request university transcripts 8 weeks before your deadline: Many Indian universities take 4 to 6 weeks to issue sealed transcripts, and delays are common near board result season.
- Apply through Common App for undergraduate admission where possible: Free of application fee, and reviewed on equal footing with the direct applywu route.
- Bundle documents for the I-20: Once admitted, upload financial proof within 10 days so the I-20 issues in time for the F-1 visa slot booking window.
- Ask for the Webster Global Grant early: International merit funding is finite and awarded on a rolling basis; a June 2027 application competes for a smaller pool than a January 2027 one.
- Choose Fall over Spring when you can: Fall entry gives access to a wider slate of program starts, on-campus employment openings, and orientation cohorts.
- Confirm STEM designation for OPT planning: MS Cybersecurity, MS Data Analytics, and MS Computer Science carry the 24-month OPT extension, but not every business or MA program does.
Webster University admissions rewards early, complete applications more than heavily engineered ones. Meet the GPA and English floor cleanly, submit official documents on time, and file the F-1 visa paperwork the day your I-20 arrives, and the process runs to schedule for most Indian applicants targeting Fall 2027.
Webster University Admissions: Frequently Asked Questions
Ques. What is the application deadline at Webster University for Indian students?
Ans. Webster University uses rolling admissions with term-specific cut-offs. For international applicants, Fall 2027 (primary August intake) closes 1 June 2027, and the nearest live deadline is Spring 2027 (January intake) on 15 October 2026.
Ques. What is the minimum TOEFL and IELTS score for Webster University?
Ans. Webster University requires TOEFL iBT 80 (PBT 550), IELTS Academic 6.0, or Duolingo English Test 110 for both undergraduate and graduate admission. Pearson PTE Academic is also accepted.
Ques. How much is the application fee for Webster University?
Ans. The application fee on the applywu portal is USD 50 (about INR 4,783). Undergraduate first-year and transfer applicants can apply through the Common Application at no cost.
Ques. What GPA is required for Webster University graduate admission?
Ans. Full graduate admission requires a bachelor’s degree at 2.5 GPA or higher on a 4.0 scale (about 60% in Indian terms). Conditional admission is possible at 2.0 to 2.4 GPA, with a one-course-per-term limit until the student advances to candidacy.
Ques. Does Webster University accept the Common Application?
Ans. Yes. Webster University accepts the Common Application for undergraduate first-year and transfer admission, giving equal consideration to both the Common App and the direct applywu route. Graduate applicants must use the applywu portal.
Ques. Is GMAT or GRE required for the Webster MBA?
Ans. No. The Webster University graduate catalog does not list GMAT or GRE as a required test for MBA admission. A strong bachelor’s transcript and clear statement of purpose carry the review.
Ques. Can Indian students get an English test waiver at Webster University?
Ans. Yes, through three published routes: one full year of accredited US college coursework in English, completion of ELS Level 112 or UCF CMMS, or a completed degree from one of Webster’s 33 English-exempt countries. India-issued degrees do not qualify for the country waiver, so most Indian applicants take TOEFL, IELTS, Duolingo, or PTE.
Ques. How long does Webster University take to send admission decisions?
Ans. Under rolling admissions, decisions typically arrive within 2 to 4 weeks of a complete file. The I-20 form for F-1 visa processing is issued after financial documents clear separate review, usually another 1 to 2 weeks.
Ques. What documents do Indian students need for Webster University?
Ans. Class X and XII marksheets, bachelor’s transcript and degree certificate (for graduate applicants), passport copy, official English test score, a 300 to 500-word essay or resume, letters of recommendation where requested, and financial proof covering one academic year.
Ques. What is the undergraduate tuition fee at Webster University for Indian students?
Ans. Undergraduate full-time base tuition is USD 33,360 (about INR 31.91 Lakhs) per academic year for 13 to 18 credit hours in 2026-2027. Conservatory tuition is higher at USD 38,780 (about INR 37.10 Lakhs) per year.
Ques. What visa do Indian students need for Webster University?
Ans. Indian students need the F-1 student visa. The process starts with Webster issuing the I-20 form after offer acceptance and financial verification, then involves the SEVIS I-901 fee (USD 350, about INR 33,481), the DS-160 form, and a visa interview at a US Consulate in India.
Ques. Is Webster University’s acceptance rate high enough for Indian applicants to feel confident?
Ans. Webster University admits about 86% of undergraduate applicants, which is accessible relative to US private universities. Indian students who meet the GPA and English floors cleanly clear admission, but graduate programs like MS Cybersecurity apply tighter prerequisite review than the institutional rate suggests.

- Job placement support is not effective.
- For foreign students there is no proper guidance provided for jobs, inside the university.
- Scholarships are not easily provided to students.
Overview
The overall experience, if I have to rate, I will choose 5/10. For me the academic part is good. The syllabus was globally effective. Majority of the teachers were helpful and approachable. The only complain I have from this University is that their marketing campaign is partially vague. They said that anyone can get a part-time job easily. But for me and many other students, it was difficult to get jobs in foreign countries. Also from University, we didn't get proper reference to get a job. After finishing the studies as well we didn't get a proper placement support. So, the life in a different country gets a bit tough, without earnings.
Scholarship
Yes, I have received 5 lakh INR scholarship.
