Ans. Both SUNY Binghamton and FSU are highly ranked in terms of salary as per PayScale College Salary Reports. They are ranked well by other reports like emolument as well so you can rest assured about their employment reports. On average, their graduates earn 103,000-113,000 USD. Still, you may have some requirements or reasons of your own to consider so here is a rough comparison of both the universities for their MS in Computer Science: Please note that the salary mentioned is sector wise and it will vary with the choice of your major. Other factors like scholarships, tuition cost, location, residence and expenses will play a major role in your choice.  SUNY Binghamton has an edge over FSU because of: Ease of admission indicated by its higher acceptance rate Average Salary of its CS graduates Overall graduation rate More Scholarship opportunities ranging from 1,000 USD upto 20,000 USD More internships and job opportunities due to its location as compared to a rather isolated location of Florida State University Nevertheless, it can be said that while all both are in the same league, SUNY Binghamton is slightly better in terms of opportunities and average starting salaries.Read more

Ques. How is the Florida State University for MS in computer science?

    ● Top Answer By Subham Ghosh on 11 Jan 21

Ans. Florida State University is ranked well for its programs so you’re good to go with it. It has also seen a significant increase in the number of students recently in their Computer Science program which means you’re not wrong to go for it. Research-wise too the standards are pretty good and it is one of the highly funded universities, so if you’re going to pursue research later then it's a great place for your field. There is much research in collaboration with industrial giants as well as the US government which is another good reason to go for it.  The faculty of Computer science is also very experienced, one of the best professors being Mike Burmester in the field of Security. There have also been many new additions to their faculty recently all with excellent credits to their names. If you’re interested in Cyber-security then know their department focuses quite a lot on Cyber-security and hence offers many courses in the area of Cyber Security. The job prospects are pretty amazing for this course as well, following being the most popular: Computer Scientist/Engineer: 70,590 USD Systems Analyst: 59,180 USD Computer Programmer: 50,590 USD Here are some of the program’s highlights: However, there may be some drawbacks because of its location which does not offer as many internships. Those that are available are limited and you need to beat a lot of competition to get them. It would depend upon you if you are ready to move to a place with more opportunities after studying here.Read more

Ques. Is Florida State University better than the University of Central Florida?

    ● Top Answer By Karn Mehta on 11 Jan 21

Ans. Both the universities are well respected in different aspects. While UCF is significantly younger than Florida State University, it has great programs in Engineering, Business, Hospitality and Entertainment. On the other hand, FSU has excellent programs in Film Production, Screenwriting, Business, Teaching and Sciences. Here is a quick summary of both colleges: From this we can conclude: Graduates from both have somewhat similar average salaries  FSU has a significantly lower student population which means better interaction and facilities in classes. Admissions are more difficult at FSU than UCF Tuition Fees for both are not very different. UCF has a larger student body because of which more and more classes are being offered online. This may be helpful for some while others may find small class sizes in FSU preferable. Hence, it is safe to say that both colleges are good but FSU has an edge over UCF due to its graduation rate, placements, student-faculty ratio and reputation.Read more

Ques. What are the strongest academic programs at Florida State University?

    ● Top Answer By Shilpa Agrawal on 11 Jan 21

Ans. Any program's strength can't be determined by one person's perspective. You will need to decide your pathway and see how it grows in future. In terms of popularity, FSU has many strong subjects in the fields of Law, Criminal Justice and Political Science. With over 250 different degrees for undergraduate, master's and research, you will find a lot of options at FSU to go for. It has a great reputation for many programs in the field of Arts, Science and Technology. However, the program strength lies on many factors including your own perspective and the opportunities available after your choice of program.  As per Popularity and Rankings Florida State University is especially well ranked for its programs in Business, Psychology, Management, Criminal Justice, Marketing, Computer Science and Political Science by US News and other agencies. These are the most popular majors at FSU according to niche: As Per Placements and Average Salaries You can also get an idea about its strongest subjects by its graduates' average placements. Ques. How can I get into Florida State University?

    ● Top Answer By Deepika Arora on 11 Jan 21

Ans. Getting admitted into FSU depends on a lot of things: whether you're going to be a freshman or going for higher studies and research. The acceptance rate is around 37% which means the competition is very intense. If you are an international student, your acceptance rate reduces to 6%. In 2019 FSU received over 47,000 applications out of which only 15,830 were admitted, which means you need to work hard to be here. The requirements stay the same but the competition changes depending on the program you are opting for. It also depends on which session you're planning to join in. Admissions during Fall intakes are considered tougher due to a very large applicant pool. As a general rule, make sure that you: Have a high GPA (4.0 and above on the scale of 5.0) A stellar essay with all your extracurriculars, qualities and achievements Solid ACT or SAT scores (28-31 on ACTs or 1250-1360 on SATs) Strong letters of recommendation from teachers who know you well To have enough funds to support your first year of college and added expenses Leadership skills are desirable and improve your chances of admission. The admissions team looks at a candidate's overall personality and what value they would add to their college. Other than these, a resume, personal statement and other standardized tests like GMAT, GRE, TOEFL etc are very important too. International students specially need to demonstrate their skills in English through TOEFL or IELTS.Read more
