Carroll University Admission Requirements for Indian Applicants 2027

The threshold below is the minimum for a complete Indian file; individual programmes may set higher subject cutoffs.

Postgraduate applicants must submit:

  • Bachelor’s degree with 60% or CGPA 6.0/10 (recommended), evaluated course-by-course by a NACES-member agency
  • English proficiency: TOEFL iBT 70 (PBT 550), IELTS 6.0 (all bands), PTE 50, or Duolingo 105
  • Credential verification report from WES, ECE, SpanTran or IEE, uploaded to the application portal
  • Programme-specific extras where applicable: MSN requires an RN license; DPT requires prerequisite science coursework

Undergraduate applicants must submit:

  • Class 10 and Class 12 mark sheets with 65% (recommended) aggregate, plus a school-issued English translation for any non-English document
  • English proficiency: TOEFL iBT 70, IELTS 6.0, PTE 50, Duolingo 105, or an approved waiver route such as IGCSE English grade B
  • Passport copy and proof of financial support (bank statement) before the I-20 is issued

Key insight: Carroll does not appear on its own IELTS waiver country list for India, so an English test is effectively mandatory even for CBSE and ICSE candidates from English-medium schools.

Carroll University Acceptance Rate 2027

Carroll University publishes a first-year acceptance rate of about 67% (estimated), placing it in the moderately selective tier for regional US private universities. The figure reflects an overall pool rather than a Indian-specific rate, and clinical health-science programmes admit far fewer applicants than the overall number suggests.

Business, education and liberal-arts majors sit closest to the overall admit rate, while the DPT, PA Studies and MSN Direct Entry tracks are meaningfully more selective. A file with an English score above the minimum, verified transcripts and clear financial documentation carries a strong chance at admission through the standard rolling review.

Reality check: A published 67% rate does not translate to a 67% chance for every Indian file. Clinical programmes with fixed cohort sizes routinely admit less than one in three applicants.

Carroll University Rankings 2027

Carroll University’s strongest current benchmark is US News Best Regional Universities Midwest, where it ranks #32 of 161 in the 2026 edition. It is not ranked in the global QS, THE or ARWU tables, which is typical for US regional teaching-focused universities.

The Regional Midwest category groups universities that offer a full range of undergraduate degrees plus master’s and some doctoral programmes but focus on teaching rather than global research. As per US News 2026, Carroll’s #32 placement puts it in the top 20% of the Midwest regional cohort.

Key insight: Absence from QS or THE does not affect F-1 or H-1B eligibility, and the US News regional rank is what Wisconsin and Illinois employers actually reference during campus hiring.

Carroll University Placements and Career Outcomes 2027

Median earnings for Carroll University graduates run about 25% above the national median for US bachelor’s holders at the same career stage, reflecting the strong clinical and business track record.

  • Six-year median earnings after enrolment: USD 54,456 (INR 51.64 lakh) per year
  • First-year retention rate: 79% (Carroll University official disclosure)
  • Six-year graduation rate: 69.6% for the full-time first-time undergraduate cohort
  • Top employer sectors: Healthcare and hospital systems, K-12 education, regional banking and insurance, professional services in the Milwaukee-Chicago corridor
  • Post-study work rights: Standard 12-month OPT for F-1 graduates; STEM-designated majors qualify for the 24-month OPT extension

Insider note: Indian graduates from Nursing and Physical Therapy tracks report the fastest OPT-to-full-time conversion, driven by regional health-system hiring pipelines around Milwaukee.

Carroll University vs Peer Universities

The peer set below draws from Midwest private and public institutions that Indian applicants routinely cross-shop with Carroll on tuition, guaranteed aid and clinical-programme depth.

UniversityUS News 2026 CategoryAnnual International UG TuitionNotable Difference from Carroll

Concordia University WisconsinRegional Universities MidwestVerify at official pageLutheran affiliation with a larger nursing intake
University of Wisconsin-MilwaukeeNational Universities categoryVerify at official pagePublic R1 alternative with lower out-of-state tuition

Key insight: Carroll’s edge over the peer set is the automatic international award; on published sticker prices, Marquette and UW-Milwaukee sit higher, and only Concordia comes close on the net-cost calculation.

Carroll University suits Indian applicants who want a compact private-university experience with a guaranteed institutional scholarship of USD 26,000-29,000/year and a total annual investment near USD 30,000, against a six-year median salary of USD 54,456 that pays back tuition within two full-time years. Its Wisconsin location plugs directly into the Milwaukee-Chicago healthcare corridor, making it a strong fit for Nursing, MOT, DPT and MBA applicants.

It is a weaker fit for applicants targeting global brand recall through QS or THE rankings, or those aiming for research-doctorate pathways in engineering and pure sciences. Applicants in that bracket should also compare Marquette University, which sits in the US News National Universities category and offers a broader research portfolio.

Carroll University FAQs

Ques. What documents does WES need for Indian transcripts at Carroll University?

Ans. WES requires all Class 10, Class 12 and Bachelor’s mark sheets plus consolidated grade reports and the degree certificate, each attested by the issuing board or university. Indian applicants request WES ICAP for a course-by-course evaluation and forward it directly to Carroll University’s admission office; the standard turnaround is seven to ten business days after documents reach WES.

Ques. Can Indian students work part-time on-campus at Carroll University?

Ans. Yes, F-1 students at Carroll University can work up to 20 hours per week on-campus during the academic term and up to 40 hours per week during official breaks. Typical roles sit in the library, dining services, the wellness clinic and the Center for Graduate Studies. Off-campus work needs prior CPT or OPT authorisation and cannot start in the first academic year.

Ques. Does Carroll University waive IELTS for English-medium Indian applicants?

Ans. Carroll University does not list India on its English-proficiency waiver country list, so CBSE, ICSE and state-board applicants must submit a test score. Accepted options are TOEFL iBT 70, IELTS 6.0, PTE 50 or Duolingo 105, and IGCSE English grade B or higher can substitute at the undergraduate level. Contact the international office if in doubt.

Ques. How much financial proof must Indian students submit for the I-20?

Ans. Carroll University requires financial documentation equal to the full first-year cost of attendance before issuing the I-20, which is USD 59,794 for on-campus international undergraduates in 2026-27. Acceptable proof includes bank statements dated within six months, education loan sanction letters from Indian banks and sponsorship affidavits. The guaranteed international scholarship is deducted from the required proof amount.

Ques. Which Indian education loan lenders recognise Carroll University degrees?

Ans. All major Indian public and private lenders sanction education loans for Carroll University, since it is a regionally accredited US degree awarder. Common lenders include HDFC Credila, Avanse, Auxilo, ICICI Bank, State Bank of India, Bank of Baroda and Prodigy Finance for graduate cohorts. Interest rates and collateral requirements vary; loans up to INR 40 lakh are typically approved without collateral for STEM programmes.

Ques. Does Carroll University require the SAT for Indian undergraduate applicants?

Ans. Carroll University is a test-optional institution and does not require SAT or ACT scores from any applicant, including Indian undergraduates. Applicants who submit a strong SAT or ACT can use it as evidence for competitive merit scholarships like MacAllister. Class 12 board results are the primary academic input for the admission and scholarship decisions, so submit them in full.

Ques. Can Indian students bring dependents on an F-2 visa?

Ans. Yes, F-1 students at Carroll University may sponsor a spouse and unmarried children under 21 on the F-2 visa. Additional financial proof is required at the I-20 stage: roughly USD 6,000 for a spouse and USD 4,000 per child per year. F-2 dependents cannot work in the US but children can enrol in Waukesha public schools free of charge.

Ques. What is the refund policy if the F-1 visa is refused after paying tuition?

Ans. Carroll University refunds paid tuition and housing deposits in full if an admitted student receives a documented F-1 refusal from the US embassy or consulate before the term start date. The enrolment deposit may be non-refundable but is often waived on a refusal with a copy of the 214(b) letter. Academic programme fees are non-refundable after the term begins.

Overview

Direct admittance into the athletic training pre-physical therapy program. I wanted to play tennis. I wanted a small college so I would have smaller classes. I also wanted to know familiar faces on campus.

Fees

There are a lot of hidden fees that show up on your statement. They also make everyone pay an activity fee even when you are commuter. There are also upper-level class fees. And class fees for your major on top of the very overpriced Tuition.

Overview

When doing my college search, I did overnight visits to the schools that I was most interested in. During my overnight visit, Carroll provided a home-like feel. Everyone was welcoming and friendly, the academic faculty was knowledgable, and the campus had a great overall vibe. I appreciated the small class sizes that Carroll offers and the ability to receive assistance from a professor directly and not a TA.

Fees

Annual tuition for Carroll is around $32,000 for the next school year. There are a few other fees that usually add up to around $1,000. Other charges include housing and meal plans. Carroll offers a variety of housing and food plan options which make it affordable for everyone.
