Carroll University admissions run on rolling review for international applicants, with decisions typically issued within two weeks of a complete file — the entry floor is Class XII at 65 percent or higher for undergraduate and a Bachelor’s with 3.0 GPA (roughly 65 percent) for graduate programs, both with English proficiency evidence.

  • Primary intake: Fall 2027 (September) — recommended by 1 May 2027 for visa buffer.
  • Base UG tuition INR 39.43 Lakhs (USD 41,200); no application fee at any level.
  • UG: Class XII 65 percent plus; PG: Bachelor’s 3.0 GPA plus; IELTS 6.0 or TOEFL iBT 70.
  • Acceptance rate 67 percent per US News 2026 institutional data.

Popular programs for Indian students at Carroll University include Nursing, MBA, Doctor of Physical Therapy, and Physician Assistant Studies. Every accepted international student receives a guaranteed institutional scholarship of USD 26,000 to 29,000 (INR 24.88 to 27.75 Lakhs) per year, which sharply cuts the effective cost of attendance.

Admission Status: Rolling. Applications for Fall 2027 (September 2027, the primary intake where most programs open) and Spring 2027 (January 2027) are open now on the Carroll University application portal. No application fee. Decisions are issued within two weeks of a complete file. Submit Spring 2027 applications by 1 November 2026 (IST) to keep the F-1 visa timeline safe.

Carroll University Application Deadlines for Indian Students

Carroll University runs a rolling admissions cycle — undergraduate and graduate applications are reviewed year-round and each complete file gets a decision within two weeks. There are no fixed rounds, but Indian applicants must back-plan from their intake so an F-1 visa slot at a US consulate can be booked in time. Carroll’s primary intake for Indian students is Fall (September); most graduate programs and all undergraduate majors open here.

Currency note: All INR figures in this article use USD 1 = INR 95.70 (August 2026). Live rates may vary, so confirm with your bank before remitting.

Carroll University’s primary intake for Indian students is Fall (September) — most graduate programs and all undergraduate majors open here. Recommended-by dates below carry a visa buffer, per the Carroll international admissions page.

Application fee: No application fee — Carroll waives the application charge for every applicant. The MBA and PhD in Leadership follow slightly different rhythms (see those sections). Health science programs (DPT, Physician Assistant, Pathologists’ Assistant, Occupational Therapy) use centralised services with their own supplemental dates.

Planning note: A US student visa (F-1) requires an I-20 first. Add 8 to 12 weeks between offer and visa interview when planning intake dates.

Carroll University Admissions Eligibility for Indian Students

Carroll University uses institution-wide academic minimums with English proficiency evidence for every international applicant whose first language is not English. Indian applicants apply on the strength of CBSE, ICSE, or state board Class XII marks for undergraduate entry, and a three or four-year Bachelor’s for graduate entry.

Carroll Undergraduate Eligibility

  • Class XII: 65 percent or higher (indicative), CBSE, ICSE, IB, or state board.
  • Board translation: Secondary School Examination + Senior School Certificate Examination.
  • English test: IELTS 6.0 (all bands) or TOEFL iBT 70.
  • SAT or ACT: Test-optional for admission; needed only for merit uplift.

Carroll Postgraduate Eligibility

  • Bachelor’s: Three or four-year degree from a recognised Indian university.
  • GPA floor: 3.0 on 4.0 (around 65 to 70 percent Indian equivalent).
  • English test: IELTS 6.0 or TOEFL iBT 70 (rarely waived at PG level).
  • GRE or GMAT: Not required for MBA or most Master’s programs.

Carroll accepts five English tests: IELTS 6.0, TOEFL iBT 70 (or 550 PBT / 8 Essentials), PTE Academic 50, Duolingo English Test 105, and LANGUAGECERT Academic 65. Details live on the Carroll English proficiency page.

Carroll IELTS Waiver for Indian Students

Carroll does not offer a Medium-of-Instruction (MOI) waiver based on English-medium schooling in India, but several test-alternative pathways apply. Indian undergraduate applicants can substitute IELTS/TOEFL with any of the following, per the English proficiency page.

  • SAT Evidence-Based Reading and Writing 510+ or ACT English 18+.
  • IB English Standard Level 5+ (IB Diploma students).
  • IGCSE, GCSE, or O Level English at grade B or higher.
  • AP English score of 3 or higher.

Graduate applicants may satisfy the requirement by holding a Bachelor’s from a US institution or from a listed English-speaking country. There is no waiver based on English-medium schooling in India alone.

Insider note: An IGCSE English B or an IB English SL 5 saves the IELTS retest — many Indian IB and Cambridge board students already qualify without a fresh test booking.

Carroll University Postgraduate Programs and Admission Requirements

Carroll University offers 20 plus graduate programs across the College of Health Sciences, the School of Business, and the School of Education and Human Services. Base graduate tuition is charged per credit hour (USD 590 to 970 depending on program) — a full course-wise breakdown lives on the Carroll University fees page. Two clinical programs, Physician Assistant and Pathologists’ Assistant, are cohort-priced on an annual basis.

Carroll University MBA Admission for Indian Students

The Carroll University MBA is a 30-credit, two-year graduate business degree delivered in a HyFlex format — students can attend each class in person on the Waukesha campus or join the same session live online. Courses run in an eight-week block cycle, so a full-time international student on an F-1 visa can complete the degree in two years while switching modes between sessions.

Carroll MBA Eligibility and Admission

  • Bachelor’s degree in any discipline from a recognised university.
  • 3.0 undergraduate GPA (around 65 to 70 percent Indian equivalent).
  • GMAT and GRE: Not required for admission.
  • Work experience: Preferred but not mandatory for full-time entry.
  • English test: IELTS 6.0 or TOEFL iBT 70; no MBA-specific waiver.

Carroll MBA Concentrations and Cost

Five concentrations are on offer: Business Analytics, Business Management, Health Informatics and Artificial Intelligence, Healthcare Leadership, and Organizational Development. Tuition is USD 780 (INR 74,646) per credit — 30 credits total works out to USD 23,400 (INR 22.39 Lakhs) tuition across the degree. Multiple start dates run through the year; check the funding options for Indian students page for MBA-specific awards. F-1 visa holders must enroll full-time, which typically means two eight-week blocks per semester.

Reality check: The HyFlex model is attractive, but F-1 rules cap online-only credits at one course per full-time term. Plan an in-person schedule.

Carroll University PhD Admission for Indian Students

Carroll University offers one doctoral research degree at present: the PhD in Leadership and Organizational Development. It is a 54-credit programme designed for working professionals across business, education, government, and non-profit sectors — completion runs from three to seven years with the typical cohort finishing in four to five.

Carroll PhD Eligibility and Format

  • Master’s degree from an accredited institution.
  • Minimum GPA 3.0 at the graduate level.
  • Cohort intake: Fall admission only (September start).
  • Format: Hybrid — asynchronous online coursework plus one weekend on campus per month.
  • Interview: By invitation after the written application is reviewed.

Carroll PhD Cost and Dissertation Track

Tuition is charged at USD 905 (INR 86,608) per credit for the Leadership and Organizational Development doctorate — 54 credits works out to roughly USD 48,870 (INR 46.77 Lakhs) across the programme. Candidates begin dissertation coursework in the first semester and continue through Year 3 (LEA 8606, LEA 8607). Because the format is hybrid with weekend on-campus days, this doctorate does not typically qualify for a full-time F-1 visa — Indian applicants should confirm visa eligibility with the international office before applying.

Note: The Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) is a professional doctorate, not a research PhD — apply through the DPT programme page and PTCAS.

Carroll University Application Process for Indian Students

The Carroll application is direct — not through Common App or a centralised service (except for health science programs, which use PTCAS or CASPA). Indian applicants follow a five-step sequence for undergraduate and general graduate programs.

  1. Create an account on the apply.carrollu.edu portal and select intake plus programme.
  2. Upload unofficial transcripts (Class XII marksheet for UG, Bachelor’s transcript for PG) plus an English test score.
  3. Send transcripts for NACES (National Association of Credential Evaluation Services) evaluation — WES, ECE, IEE, or SPANTRAN. Evaluation costs USD 150 to 195.
  4. Submit personal statement and one to two letters of recommendation where a program asks for them.
  5. No application fee is charged at any level — submit and wait for the decision (issued within two weeks of a complete file on the apply.carrollu.edu portal).

Health science programs add supplemental requirements: PTCAS (Physical Therapist Centralized Application Service) for DPT, CASPA for Physician Assistant Studies, and shadowing hours evidence for both. The MBA uses the standard Carroll portal with an added resume upload.

Before you apply: Order the NACES credential evaluation early — WES processing runs 20 to 35 business days from receipt of Indian transcripts.

Carroll University Admission Decisions and Offer Timeline

Carroll University issues admission decisions on a rolling schedule — the university commits to a decision within two weeks of receiving a complete application file. Complete means transcripts (unofficial acceptable at review stage), English test score, and any programme-specific supplements have been uploaded to the applicant portal.

  • Offer letter: Emailed via the applicant portal within two weeks of a complete file.
  • Acceptance step: Confirm intent to enrol in the portal — no upfront deposit required for admission acceptance at most programs.
  • Conditional offers: Issued if English test score is pending — final I-20 is held until scores arrive.
  • I-20 issuance: Triggered by proof of financial support (bank statement covering one year of costs).
  • Deferral: One-term deferral to the next available intake is usually granted on request.

The two-week promise is enforced by Carroll’s admissions office, which is unusually fast for a US private university. Indian applicants who submit a fully documented file in September typically hold an offer by early October, leaving four months for the F-1 visa cycle before a January intake.

Carroll University Documents Required for Indian Students

Carroll University asks Indian applicants to prepare a compact document set. Nothing here is unusual for US applications, but the NACES credential evaluation is worth ordering early since it typically takes three to five weeks.

  • Passport bio page (colour scan, valid for at least six months beyond intended stay).
  • Class XII marksheet and passing certificate (UG applicants) — with certified English translation if not in English.
  • Bachelor’s degree certificate and consolidated marksheet (PG applicants).
  • NACES credential evaluation report from WES, ECE, IEE, or SPANTRAN.
  • English proficiency test score report (IELTS, TOEFL, PTE, Duolingo, or LANGUAGECERT Academic).
  • Personal statement or statement of purpose (500 to 750 words).
  • One to two letters of recommendation (academic or professional, depending on programme).
  • Resume or CV (mandatory for MBA, PhD, and mid-career professional programs).
  • Financial support proof (bank statement showing one full year of cost of attendance) — needed post-acceptance for I-20.
  • Sponsor affidavit if funds are held by a parent or relative rather than the applicant.
  • PTCAS or CASPA verification for DPT and Physician Assistant applicants.

Carroll University Acceptance Rate for Indian Students

Carroll University reports an institutional acceptance rate of 67 percent per US News 2026 data — an access-oriented rate, meaning the university admits most applicants who meet its stated academic and English requirements. The rate is stable across recent cycles and does not shift meaningfully for international applicants.

What the 67 Percent Rate Signals

Carroll is a non-selective private university in Wisconsin’s Regional Universities Midwest category (US News ranking band #32 for 2026). For an Indian applicant with a genuine Class XII 65 percent plus and IELTS 6.0 plus, an offer is the base case rather than the exception. Applicants who fall a few percent below the floor sometimes receive conditional offers tied to a pathway English course or a transcript revision.

Where the Rate Tightens

Three programs run tighter than the institutional headline: Doctor of Physical Therapy (cohort-limited, PTCAS-graded), Physician Assistant Studies (cohort of about 30, CASPA-graded), and Pathologists’ Assistant Studies. These clinical programs require prerequisite coursework, shadowing hours, and interview stages that push their effective admit rate below 20 percent for external candidates.

Insider note: A 67 percent institutional rate is not the number to plan by for DPT or PA. Those cohorts see roughly one in six external applicants admitted — plan the file accordingly.

USA Student Visa for Carroll University Admissions

Indian students admitted to Carroll University need an F-1 student visa to enrol in a full-time degree. Carroll issues Form I-20 (the SEVIS-generated eligibility certificate) after admission and proof of financial support are on file. The I-20 is emailed via the applicant portal, and the student then pays the SEVIS I-901 fee of USD 350 (INR 33,495) on the official SEVIS website before booking the US embassy interview.

The F-1 file at the consulate needs: signed I-20, SEVIS I-901 receipt, valid passport, DS-160 confirmation (the US non-immigrant visa application), photograph, financial support documentation (bank statement covering one year of costs — roughly USD 60,000 or INR 57.42 Lakhs for undergraduates), and the visa application fee of USD 185 (INR 17,705). Interview slots at US consulates in India (Mumbai, Delhi, Hyderabad, Chennai, Kolkata) run tight during the June to August peak — visa appointments can be scheduled up to 365 days before the programme start date, so book early. On arrival in the US, students must report to Carroll’s international office within 15 days for SEVIS registration.

2026 update: US consulates in India are prioritising F-1 slots for the September 2026 intake through August 2026. Book Spring 2027 interviews from November 2026.

Tips for Carroll University Admissions

The following tips are drawn from Indian-applicant patterns at Carroll University and cover the moves that reliably move the needle at this institution.

  • Apply by December 2026 for Fall 2027 — the guaranteed scholarship band (USD 26,000 to 29,000) is capacity-managed and early files land at the top of the range.
  • Submit an SAT score of 1200 plus for merit stacking beyond the guaranteed award, even though Carroll is test-optional.
  • Order WES evaluation before applying — it takes three to five weeks and delays the two-week decision clock if missing.
  • Choose IB English SL 5 or IGCSE English B as an IELTS substitute if your school offers it — one fewer test to book.
  • For DPT and Physician Assistant, complete prerequisite courses at an accredited Indian university with clear NACES-friendly grading.
  • Use direct admission tracks (3+1 MBA, 3+3 DPT) at the undergraduate application stage to lock in a reserved graduate seat.
  • Confirm health insurance — the mandatory USD 2,538 (INR 2.43 Lakhs) plan is billed on the I-20 whether or not you already carry cover from India.

Carroll University Admissions Checklist

The following steps cover what Indian applicants typically complete in the six months before their target intake at Carroll University.

  • Six months out: Book IELTS or TOEFL slot; order Class XII or Bachelor’s transcripts from the board or university registrar.
  • Five months out: Submit transcripts to WES, ECE, IEE, or SPANTRAN for NACES credential evaluation.
  • Four months out: Create account on apply.carrollu.edu; upload unofficial transcripts, English score, personal statement.
  • Three months out: Track the two-week decision; on offer, prepare bank statement covering one year of cost of attendance.
  • Two months out: Accept offer in portal; upload financial documents so Carroll issues Form I-20; pay SEVIS I-901 fee of USD 350.
  • Six weeks out: File DS-160, book F-1 interview at nearest US consulate, pay USD 185 visa fee.
  • Two weeks out: Complete pre-arrival portal (housing, orientation, registration); arrange onward travel to Waukesha, Wisconsin.

Carroll University pairs a 67 percent access-oriented acceptance rate with a guaranteed USD 26,000 to 29,000 international scholarship and zero application fee — the total effective UG cost lands close to INR 30 Lakhs a year. Rolling review with two-week decisions means Indian applicants can safely apply four to six months out from intake.

Overview

Direct admittance into the athletic training pre-physical therapy program. I wanted to play tennis. I wanted a small college so I would have smaller classes. I also wanted to know familiar faces on campus.

Scholarship

Carroll Gives an academic scholarship. Financial aid is OK. I definitely wish there was more help available to the students. Carroll seems to be all about money. There are additional scholarships available but they are very hard to get.

Overview

When doing my college search, I did overnight visits to the schools that I was most interested in. During my overnight visit, Carroll provided a home-like feel. Everyone was welcoming and friendly, the academic faculty was knowledgable, and the campus had a great overall vibe. I appreciated the small class sizes that Carroll offers and the ability to receive assistance from a professor directly and not a TA.

Scholarship

Yes- Carroll offers academic scholarships based on GPA and ACT scores. 99% of students receive some type of financial aid.
