Courses

The university offers diverse courses for international students at undergraduate level which includes 34 majors, 37 minors and 8 programs.

Biological and Biomedical Sciences, English, Economics, Psychology and Social Sciences are the majorly pursued majors among the students. 

The college also offers various other programs like Domestic Exchange, First-Generation Scholars Program, Gordon-Zeto Center for Global Education, ROTC, Spelman Independent Scholars (SIS) and Study Abroad and International Exchange

The college campus is spread across a vast piece of land spanning around 39 acres which includes 26 buildings designed for different purposes. Based in Atlanta, Georgia, the city has lower cost of living and good employment opportunities to offer. 2,100 students from more than 43 states and 10 foreign countries have enrolled in Spelman college over the years, the majority being full-time students.

The Spelman college provides a wide variety of facilities to its students, like, Counselling Services, Wellness Centre, Student health services, Religious life, Public safety, among others.

The campus has 85 organizations to offer who cover everything ranging from academics, sports, religion, sorority, catering to disabled, special interests, etc. The Office of Student Life and Engagement provides an array of extracurricular activities, which develop the leadership potential, personal growth, and global understanding.

Housing/ Residential Facilities

The institute provides on-campus accommodation for its aspirants across its 11 residence halls that houses over 1,200 students. There are First-year residence halls and Upper-Class Residence halls mostly including double occupancy, however, some having singles, triples, quads as well as five occupant space as well.

There are four first-year residence halls namely, Stewart Living and Learning Centre (LLC1), Abby Aldrich Rockefeller Hall (Abby), Dorothy Shepard Manley Hall (Manley) and Howard-Harreld Hall (HH).

Upper-class residence includes seven halls which are Johnetta Betsch Cole Living-Learning Center II (LLC II), Bessie Strong Hall, MacVicar Hall, Morehouse-James Hall, Laura Spelman Rockefeller Memorial Hall (Laura Spelman), Beverly Daniel Tatum Suites (The suites) and Sally Sage McAlpin Hall (McAlpin).

The basic amenities provided in these halls are Twin sized beds, Dresser, Closet, Desk and chair, Phone Jacks, ethernet and Cable connections, kitchen, laundry rooms, tv and study lounges and meeting areas, et al.
