Visa Process for International Students

International students need to apply for an F1 or a J-1visa to study in the USA. University of Texas Austin will issue the I-20/DS2019 form required for the visa application to the accepted students.

  • The applicant needs to pay the SEVIS fee and print out the SEVIS Form I-901 receipt.
  • After the submission of the completed I-20/DS2019 form and payment of the SEVIS fee, students can schedule an interview.
  • Applicants must provide the following documents for visa application:
    • Signed I-20/DS2019 form
    • Passport
    • Acceptance letter issued by the university.
