University of Findlay tuition for Indian students is $40,698 (INR 38.83 Lakhs) per year for standard undergraduate majors and runs from $495 to $999 per credit hour (INR 47,234 to INR 95,325) at the graduate level, with MBA, MS Computer Science, PharmD, Occupational Therapy, and Physician Assistant among the most sought programs by Indian applicants.

The Spring 2027 intake (January 2027) is the realistic entry point right now, with a 10 November 2026 international deadline. Fall 2026 is not workable given F-1 visa processing of three to eight weeks, so the meaningful decision is submitting a complete Spring 2027 file before November to lock the seat plus the auto-assessed merit scholarship.

Headline yearly rates for the 2026-27 fee year that will apply to Spring 2027 entrants at University of Findlay:

  • Standard undergraduate tuition: $40,698 (INR 38.83 Lakhs) per year
  • Animal Science / Pre-Vet undergraduate: $42,024 (INR 40.11 Lakhs) per year
  • Equestrian Studies undergraduate: $44,972 (INR 42.91 Lakhs) per year
  • Graduate tuition band: $495 to $999 per credit hour (INR 47,234 to INR 95,325)
  • Trustee Merit Scholarship (4.0 GPA): $25,000 (INR 23.86 Lakhs) per year, auto-awarded

A four-year Findlay BS with on-campus housing sits near INR 2.30 Crore gross and drops to roughly INR 1.34 Crore after the Trustee scholarship. A two-year graduate program lands between INR 30 Lakhs and INR 55 Lakhs depending on discipline.

Exchange rate used across this article: 1 USD = INR 95.42, from xe.com on the day of writing.

Spring 2027 Intake: Planning Window Is Open

Intake: Spring 2027 (January) is open for both UG and PG applicants from India, deadline 10 November 2026. Fall 2026 (late August) is closed in practice, an F-1 visa cannot be secured in the twelve days remaining. Fall 2027 (August) opens after Spring, deadline 20 June 2027.

Fee update: The 2026-27 rate applies to Spring 2027 entrants, UG standard $40,698 (INR 38.83 Lakhs), graduate band $495 to $999 per credit hour. Comprehensive cost with room and board is $56,868 (INR 54.26 Lakhs).

When to pay: A $500 (INR 47,710) non-refundable enrolment deposit is due within two weeks of admission to release the Form I-20. Full instalment structure sits in the payment options section below.

Scholarships: All Findlay merit awards are auto-assessed at admission, no separate application. India-side external awards (Inlaks 2027 cycle, JN Tata Endowment, KC Mahindra) open November 2026 to March 2027, aligning cleanly with the Spring 2027 offer window.

University of Findlay Tuition Fees by Programme

University of Findlay charges the same standard undergraduate tuition of $40,698 (INR 38.83 Lakhs) per year across almost every BA and BS major, with two specialised tracks priced higher. Graduate tuition is billed per credit hour and varies sharply by discipline, so the total cost of a Masters depends on how many credits your program requires.

Undergraduate Fees: Spring 2027 and Fall 2027 Entrants

All UG rates below are for the 2026-27 academic year, split evenly across the Fall and Spring semesters. Students taking twelve or more credit hours are billed at the annual rate below.

Graduate Fees: Spring 2027 and Fall 2027 Entrants

Graduate tuition is per credit hour, no annual flat rate. Program totals below assume the typical credit load Indian students carry per academic year.

Source: University of Findlay Tuition and Fees, 2026-27. General Service Fee of $65 per credit hour applies to all graduate students.

Note: Unlike UK universities that price by course band, Findlay’s UG tuition is uniform across almost all majors, so switching from Business to Computer Science or Biology after the first semester carries no fee penalty. On the graduate side, the per-credit model lets you spread cost across three semesters instead of two if cash-flow is tight.

University of Findlay Fee Trend by Year

Findlay’s comprehensive fee (tuition plus mandatory charges) rose 3.8 percent between 2025-26 and 2026-27, in line with the national US private-university average of roughly 4 percent. Historical data older than one prior year is not archived on the university’s live tuition page, so the confirmed window is short.

Academic Year Comprehensive UG Fee (USD) Comprehensive UG Fee (INR) YoY Change
2025-26$41,178INR 39.29 LakhsBaseline
2026-27$42,740INR 40.78 Lakhs+3.8%

Source: University of Findlay Tuition and Fees, 2026-27. 2025-26 comprehensive figure calculated by reversing the university’s stated 3.8 percent increase.

Key Insight: The Spring 2027 intake is billed at the 2026-27 rate you see above. The Fall 2027 intake, opening after Spring, will move to the 2027-28 rate, if the 3.8 percent trend holds that is roughly INR 1.49 Lakhs more per year for the same degree. Locking in Spring 2027 preserves the current rate for the whole first year.

Cost of Living in Findlay Ohio for University of Findlay Students

Findlay is a small Ohio city of roughly 40,000 people, one of the cheapest college towns in the Midwest. The university’s own published cost of attendance puts room and board at $13,704 (INR 13.08 Lakhs) per year for on-campus residents, well below what Indian students pay in Boston, New York, or the Bay Area.

Expense Monthly (USD) Monthly (INR) Annual (INR) Notes for Indian Students

Sources: University of Findlay official 2026-27 room and board; Numbeo Findlay Ohio cost-of-living index for off-campus items.

Note: Findlay’s on-campus housing requirement applies to most first-year UG students, so budget the full $13,704 (INR 13.08 Lakhs) for room and board in year one. Graduate students and UG students past sophomore year can move off-campus and typically cut living costs by 20 to 30 percent.

Off-campus rent within a fifteen-minute walk of campus starts at $495 per month for a room in a shared apartment, per listings on ForRentUniversity and Apartments.com. That sits at INR 47,240 per month, less than half of what a Boston or San Francisco equivalent costs.

Currency Tip: Your first Spring 2027 tuition payment is due at registration in January 2027. Send it via Flywire (Findlay’s official international payment partner) or a forex card, both save 2 to 3 percent versus a raw SWIFT wire from an Indian bank. Split the transfer across two dates in December to hedge USD-INR volatility on the Spring 2027 instalment.

Total Cost of Studying at University of Findlay

The all-in Year 1 cost for a standard UG major at University of Findlay is $59,937 (INR 57.19 Lakhs) before scholarships, dropping to $34,937 (INR 33.33 Lakhs) after the Trustee award for high-GPA applicants. Graduate students on a standard 30-credit-per-year Masters land near INR 40 Lakhs.

Scenario Tuition (USD) Room + Board (USD) Mandatory + Visa Fees (USD) Total Year 1 (USD) Total Year 1 (INR)

PG MS Physician Assistant (30 credits, off-campus)$29,970$14,400$3,085$47,455INR 45.28 Lakhs

Mandatory fees include Student Activity Fee $300, General Service Fee $1,200, Registration and Orientation $250, plus first-year visa spend (SEVIS $350, MRV $185, Visa Integrity Fee $250). Books and personal spend budgeted separately at roughly $3,000 (INR 2.86 Lakhs).

A four-year Findlay BS with the Trustee scholarship (renewable annually at the same GPA threshold) totals roughly $140,000 or INR 1.34 Crore over four years. A two-year MBA lands near INR 65 Lakhs including living costs, comfortably financed by an SBI or HDFC Credila education loan of INR 40 Lakhs, with an approximate EMI of INR 54,000 per month over 10 years at 10.5 percent.

Key Insight: For the Spring 2027 intake, the single biggest controllable cost lever is your admission GPA. A 4.0 GPA (or 90 percent CBSE / ISC equivalent) triggers the auto-assessed Trustee award of $25,000 (INR 23.86 Lakhs) per year, four-year saving of INR 95 Lakhs. Submit official transcripts before the November 10 deadline to lock this in for Year 1.

University of Findlay Scholarships for Indian Students

All Findlay merit scholarships for international undergraduates are auto-assessed at admission with no separate application. Graduate students receive a smaller flat award. Layering an India-side external scholarship on top can push the net cost below INR 25 Lakhs per year.

Deadlines refreshed for the 2027 intake cycle. Verify current-year specifics on each foundation’s own site before applying.

Tip for Indian Students: For Spring 2027 admission, submit your class 12 marksheet with a certified 4.0-equivalent GPA (roughly 90 percent CBSE / ISC or 8.5 CGPA) before the 10 November 2026 deadline. This alone triggers $25,000 (INR 23.86 Lakhs) in Trustee funding, no essay, no interview. If you also plan to apply to Inlaks for a Masters, stack the timelines: Findlay admission letter by mid-December feeds cleanly into the March Inlaks deadline.

University of Findlay Tuition Deposit and Payment Options

Once admitted, a $500 (INR 47,710) non-refundable enrolment deposit releases your Form I-20 (the document you need to apply for the F-1 Student Visa) and secures your Spring 2027 seat. The deposit credits back to your Findlay student account against Year 1 tuition, so it is not an extra fee, just an earlier payment.

Methods of Payment for International Students

  • Flywire: Findlay’s official international payment partner. Local-currency INR payment from Indian bank accounts, no hidden FX markup, 2 to 3 percent cheaper than a raw SWIFT wire.
  • Bank transfer / telegraphic transfer: Standard SWIFT wire to Findlay’s US bank. Lead time 3 to 5 business days; carries a $25 to $45 wire fee plus the Indian bank’s FX spread.
  • Forex card: Load USD once, spend across tuition instalments and daily expenses. Best for on-campus card payments.
  • Education loan disbursement: SBI Global Ed-Vantage, HDFC Credila, or Avanse can disburse directly to Findlay after Form I-20 is issued.

Steps to Pay the Tuition Fee for International Students

  1. Accept the University of Findlay offer letter (via the international admissions portal).
  2. Pay the $500 (INR 47,710) enrolment deposit within two weeks of admission.
  3. Receive the digital Form I-20 by email from Findlay’s international office.
  4. Pay the Year 1 first-semester tuition balance at registration in January 2027 (Spring intake).
  5. Retain every payment receipt, the F-1 visa file requires proof of financial capacity plus deposit paid.

Findlay does not currently offer a documented full-year advance-payment discount, but the Spring 2027 balance can be paid in two instalments through the Nelnet payment plan (Findlay’s official monthly plan provider) for a small $50 (INR 4,771) sign-up fee per semester.

Source: University of Findlay International Apply Now page, deposit and I-20 workflow.

Tip for Indian Students: For Spring 2027 entry, pay the $500 (INR 47,710) deposit no later than 1 December 2026 so your Form I-20 arrives by mid-December. That leaves four to six weeks for the F-1 visa interview and visa stamping before Spring classes begin in mid-January 2027, right at the edge of the three-to-eight-week processing window.

Hidden Costs of Studying at University of Findlay

Beyond tuition and room-and-board, Indian students routinely under-budget for the following. Add roughly $5,000 to $6,000 (INR 4.77 to 5.73 Lakhs) to Year 1 for the categories below.

  • SEVIS I-901 fee: $350 (INR 33,397) paid once, before F-1 visa interview.
  • F-1 visa MRV fee: $185 (INR 17,653) at any US consulate in India.
  • Visa Integrity Fee: $250 (INR 23,855), in force since October 2025 for all F-1 applicants.
  • Mandatory US student health insurance: $2,000 to $3,000 (INR 1.91 to 2.86 Lakhs) per year through Findlay’s approved provider; waiver possible only with equivalent US-based coverage.
  • Books and course materials: $800 to $1,500 (INR 76,336 to 1.43 Lakhs) per year, higher for PharmD and PA programs.
  • Winter clothing setup: $300 to $500 (INR 28,626 to 47,710), Findlay winters drop below zero Celsius.
  • India-to-Ohio airfare: $900 to $1,400 (INR 85,878 to 1.34 Lakhs) one-way, higher near intake.
  • Bank transfer / FX spread on each tuition instalment: $150 to $400 (INR 14,313 to 38,168) per wire, cheaper via Flywire.

Total Year 1 hidden-cost budget: INR 5 to 6 Lakhs on top of the sticker tuition and room-and-board.

Note: The line item Indian families most often miss is US student health insurance. It is not optional, Findlay auto-enrols you and bills the plan (typically $2,400, INR 2.29 Lakhs per year) to your student account if you have not submitted a waiver by day one of Spring 2027. Budget it up front.

Fee Saving Strategies for University of Findlay Indian Students

The highest-value lever for a Spring 2027 applicant is the Trustee scholarship, which reduces the sticker fee by INR 23.86 Lakhs per year, four times the value of every other cost-cutting move combined. After that, five levers meaningfully move the total.

  • Maximise the merit tier: A 4.0 GPA gets $25,000 (INR 23.86 Lakhs) per year for four years. Even moving from Faculty (3.3 GPA, $20,000) to Trustee is a four-year INR 19 Lakh delta.
  • Move off-campus from year two: Shared 2-bed rentals at $500 to $700 per month cut room-and-board by INR 3 to 4 Lakhs per year vs on-campus.
  • Work up to 20 hours per week on campus: F-1 rules allow on-campus employment from day one. Findlay pays roughly $12 to $15 per hour, netting $10,000 to $12,000 (INR 9.54 to 11.45 Lakhs) per academic year.
  • Section 80E tax deduction: Interest paid on an Indian education loan (up to 8 years) is fully deductible under Section 80E of the Income Tax Act, saving 30 percent of interest for taxable parents.
  • OPT plus STEM extension: After a STEM Masters (MS Computer Science, MS Environmental Safety, MS Data Science), Optional Practical Training gives 12 months of post-study work plus a 24-month STEM extension, three years of US earnings at $65,000 to $90,000 to repay the education loan.

Tip for Indian Students: Your single most valuable Spring 2027 action is not a cost-cut, it is a document-cut. Have your class 12 official transcript in the international office’s hands before 10 November 2026 so the merit auto-assessment triggers at the top of the queue, not the bottom, that alone can be the difference between the Trustee ($25,000) and Faculty ($20,000) tier if borderline, worth up to INR 19.08 Lakhs over four years.

Is University of Findlay Worth the Cost for Indian Students

A four-year Findlay UG runs INR 1.34 Crore after Trustee scholarship, and a two-year Masters lands near INR 50 to 65 Lakhs. Weighed against a first-job US salary of $50,000 to $80,000 (INR 47.71 to 76.34 Lakhs) after OPT, that is a repayable investment for most disciplines, especially STEM.

Findlay is regionally ranked in the US News Best Regional Universities (Midwest) category and is best known for Pharmacy (PharmD), Occupational Therapy, Physician Assistant, Animal Science / Pre-Vet, and Equestrian Studies. Its 12:1 student-faculty ratio and a US News-reported six-year graduation rate above the national private-college average make it a solid mid-tier private option rather than a research heavyweight.

Post-study, Optional Practical Training gives every F-1 graduate 12 months of US work rights, and STEM-designated programs (MS Computer Science, MS Environmental Safety, MS Data Analytics) qualify for the additional 24-month STEM extension, a total of 36 months to earn in USD before considering an H-1B visa transfer.

An INR 40 Lakh education loan at 10.5 percent over 10 years carries an EMI of approximately INR 54,000 per month. Against a Findlay-graduate first-year salary near $65,000 (INR 62 Lakhs annually, roughly INR 5.16 Lakhs per month gross in the US), that EMI is 10 to 12 percent of gross monthly income, well within the 30 percent affordability rule of thumb.

Key Insight: For a Spring 2027 UG entrant with the Trustee scholarship, net Year 1 outflow is $31,937 (INR 30.47 Lakhs) instead of $56,937 (INR 54.32 Lakhs). Across four years, that is a saving of INR 95 Lakhs, enough to bring the total US degree cost inside a single INR 1.35 Crore loan bracket that a working parent can comfortably co-sign and service.

University of Findlay is a mid-tier US private university with a rare pricing quirk in your favour, uniform undergraduate tuition across majors and a per-credit graduate model that lets you flex load to cash-flow. Spring 2027 is the realistic first move for any Indian applicant reading this now, deadline 10 November 2026, deposit by 1 December, F-1 visa in January. A 4.0 GPA drops your net year-one cost to roughly INR 30 Lakhs and puts a four-year US Bachelors well within INR 1.35 Crore. If STEM-major, the OPT plus STEM extension gives you three post-study years to earn in USD, an EMI of INR 54,000 per month against a $65,000 first-job salary makes the math work.

  • The course was completely about case studies and real-life examples. Students were expected to read the topic before the lecture. No spoonfeeding or traditional teaching was given.
  • There were no negatives; I really liked the faculty members and their style of teaching. it was very friendly and there were lots of discussions. It was never the teacher speaking and you getting bored; also, the teachers equally respected all students and had no air of authority.

Fees

  • The fee was to be paid every semester, which was 7000 USD in 2016. As international students, to maintain F1 status, we took 9 credits every semester. Each subject was worth 3 credits. My monthly expenses were around 300-400 USD which included groceries, insurance and personal expenses. I did not have housing expenses, as housing was provided by the university as part of the assistantship program.

  • Since I was interested in learning something new that could help my career, it was pretty easy for me, and I was able to maintain a 4.0 CGPA throughout my Masters. I have seen a lot of my friends struggling as they were not interested in academics and were focusing more on part-time jobs.
  • If you really want to learn some skills that could help you get a job, this is a nice course at a cheaper price. Our course has some subjects with exams; that is where most of the students failed in clearing the subjects and had to retake some of them again.
  • We usually have 2-3 classes per day and only 2 times a week for each subject, which is much less than what we had during our bachelors in India. 90% of the students are Indians, some from Nepal, Bangladesh, Ghana, and 1 or 2 Americans in the class. Each class typically has 10-15 students.

Fees

  • My course includes 33 credit hours, excluding the pre-requisite courses. Each credit hour is $765 and other miscellaneous expenses can cost around $7k-$8k per semester.
  • Overall, my masters course cost me around $33,000, including my prerequisite courses. Without pre-requisite courses, masters would cost around $28,000. Monthly expenses would come around $250-400, depending on the number of people living with you.

General education/core classes are 100% waste of time. Courses that are specific to your major are very, very good. I love my classes and feel like they are preparing me for the field. GE classes have taught me little to nothing and I could have spent that time taking more major-specific classes.

Fees

Tuition is around 40k a year, but with aid, it is cut down to about 20k. There are a lot of hidden fees within courses, but they are added into your tuition each semester.
