Insider note: The 21 August 2026 Fall date is the Office of International Affairs’ hard close, but individual graduate departments (Luddy, Kelley, McKinney Law) often close applications several weeks earlier. Always confirm your specific program’s cutoff before the campus-wide date.

Freshman decisions typically arrive within 4 to 8 weeks of the completed file. Graduate decisions run 6 to 12 weeks depending on the department’s review committee schedule.

- Bachelor’s degree certificate and consolidated marksheets for all semesters (PG applicants).

Comparison against the campus ranking band can help calibrate expectations.
Indiana University - Purdue University Indianapolis Chances for Indians
Indian applicants at the median (Class XII 75%+, IELTS 6.5, one internship) typically clear campus-level review comfortably. The campus offers SAT/ACT test-optional review for freshman admission. The middle 50% of admitted freshmen who submitted tests scored SAT 1030 to 1240 or ACT 21 to 29. Indian applicants can safely apply test-optional if their Class XII aggregate crosses 75%.
Insider note: The 76% rate reflects general freshman review. Selective majors (Nursing BSN, Kelley Business) admit at closer to 55 to 60%, and Luddy graduate tracks run tighter still. Weigh the program-specific yield, not just the campus number.

I got admitted into IUPUI through an accelerated Master's program in MOU with my undergrad institute Nalla Malla Reddy Engineering College in Hyderabad, India. The admission and transition wasn't a hassle as IUPUI had a great international student services team who helped me with almost everything.

Overview
Indiana University Purdue University, Indianapolis is a unique place for doctoral candidates. Courses here will feel more like discussion forums than classrooms. Typical student strength in a course is 4-6. Attention is paid by faculty to every student individually. Doctoral students are treated well and they even have lunch with faculty on a daily basis. Mostly it’s a research-centric institution and the highlight is the Doctoral programs, like for IITs the highlight is the undergraduate programs. The science departments are Purdue accredited which has a good global standing. These were some reasons for me to choose IUPUI.
Scholarship
I have a university fellowship of $22,000/year. There was no separate application for it. It was just a kind of award.
Overview
Closeness to the downtown industry, making it easier and more manageable to have internships during the school year, amazing program with professors with lots of experience and connections, I like being downtown and not in such a small college town feeling space.
Overview
Great psychology program as well as many opportunities for students to do well. There are many programs and a variety of them. There are so many different things you can do. The city is great for us to do well.
