University of Indianapolis Admission Requirements for Indian Applicants 2027

University of Indianapolis publishes one set of academic and English proficiency requirements for international applicants. Individual graduate programmes may set higher thresholds. For test details, see the GMAT and GRE exams for USA reference.

University of Indianapolis Postgraduate Requirements 2027

  • Academic: Four-year Indian bachelor’s with a preferred minimum of 60% or CGPA 6.0/10, verified through WES or IEE.
  • English proficiency: TOEFL iBT band 4 (1-6 scale) / 79 (0-120 legacy scale), IELTS 6.5, PTE Academic 49, or Duolingo English 95.
  • Credential evaluation: Official course-by-course NACES or AICE report, with IEE as UIndy’s recommended service.
  • Standout requirement: No GRE or GMAT is required for most master’s programmes, though strong scores support competitive applications.

University of Indianapolis Undergraduate Requirements 2027

  • Academic: Higher Secondary Certificate (Class 12) with a preferred minimum of 70% (recommended); official school-board transcripts.
  • English proficiency: TOEFL iBT band 4 (1-6 scale) / 61 (0-120 legacy scale), IELTS 5.5, PTE Academic 49, or Duolingo English 95.
  • Application fee: USD 50 (INR 4,775), non-refundable, paid online at submission.

Key insight: TOEFL iBT reports carry both scales since 21 January 2026. UIndy accepts the new band-4 score and the legacy 61 or 79 equivalents.

University of Indianapolis Acceptance Rate 2027

University of Indianapolis has a headline acceptance rate of 82% (estimated) across recent undergraduate cycles. UIndy does not publish a separate international admit rate. The figure is derived from third-party admissions data.

Meeting the published GPA and English proficiency floors typically yields an offer within four to six weeks. Master’s programme selectivity varies by department, with health sciences the most competitive.

Reality check: An 82% headline rate does not remove the need for strong grades. Indian applicants below the recommended cut-offs still see conditional offers with pre-sessional English placements.

University of Indianapolis Placements and Career Outcomes 2027

University of Indianapolis reports strong career outcomes for graduate programmes, particularly in health sciences, business analytics and psychology. The Professional Edge Center supports every international student on OPT documentation, resume review and employer connections.

  • Employment within six months: 92% for graduate students (institutional survey, all programmes combined).
  • Median starting salary, Indianapolis market: USD 62,000 (INR 59.2 lakh) per year (market median, not university-disclosed).
  • Top hiring sectors: Healthcare, education, data analytics, professional services and manufacturing.
  • Representative employers: Eli Lilly, Roche Diagnostics, Salesforce, Community Health Network and Indiana University Health.
  • Career support: One-to-one advising, semester career fairs and an alumni mentor network across 30 US states.

Insider note: Indianapolis is a lower-cost job market than the coasts. USD 62,000 here stretches further than a coastal USD 80,000 for early-career Indian graduates.

University of Indianapolis vs Peer Universities

The natural peer set for University of Indianapolis includes mid-sized private and public universities in Indiana. Comparisons focus on fees, selectivity and career outcomes for master’s programmes. Butler University Indianapolis is the closest private peer by location.

Key insight: University of Indianapolis wins on tuition affordability and rolling admissions. Butler wins on brand recall and regional employer reach.

University of Indianapolis fits Indian graduate applicants who want an English-taught US master’s under USD 35,000 (INR 33.4 lakh) total. Rolling admissions and STEM OPT eligibility in Data Analytics or Computer Engineering seal the case. Two-year investment lands near USD 105,000 (INR 100.3 lakh) against a median salary of USD 62,000 (INR 59.2 lakh).

UIndy is not the right fit for applicants targeting an R1 research university. It also misses the mark for a global brand rank inside the QS Top 500 or funded doctoral routes. Applicants with those goals should compare Purdue University or Indiana University Bloomington instead.

To qualify for an I-20 for the 2023-2024 academic year, you should submit documentation showing the equivalent of USD 53,552 in savings, minus the amount of any scholarship you receive from UIndy. This amount is to cover tuition, fees, room, food, books, supplies, medical insurance, personal expenses, and any emergencies for one year. I suggest you to visit the Get a Student Visa page on the university’s website for more information.
