Wilmington University offers 27+ merit scholarships, of which 10+ are accessible to Indian applicants at UG, PG, and doctoral levels.
The largest single award for Indian undergraduates is the Global Wildcat Scholarship, capped at USD 35,000 per year (INR 33.41 Lakhs). Applicants are auto-considered on admission, so no second form is needed.
- Standard UG tuition: USD 12,645 per year (INR 12.07 Lakhs).
- With the Global Wildcat top tier: the net UG bill drops close to zero for high-scoring Indian applicants.
- PG stack (Global Wildcat plus College Dean’s Merit): trims published fees by USD 15,000 to 30,000 (INR 14.32 to 28.63 Lakhs).
- Next Indian-accessible deadline: November 30, 2026 for Spring 2027 admission (tentative, based on 2025 cycle).
Currency Note: All INR conversions use the live rate of 1 USD = INR 95.45 as of August 2026. Wilmington University bills tuition per credit hour, so the annual figure assumes a standard 30-credit load; part-time enrolment cuts both the bill and credit-based awards.

Wilmington University Scholarships for UG Students
Indian undergraduates at Wilmington University draw most of their aid from two internal awards plus a small set of program-specific pots. US federal aid is closed to Indian F-1 visa students (international students on a US study visa). WilmU still opens its own merit purse to internationals who clear the GPA and English-score bars.

Reddit Insight: Indian first-years posting on r/IntltoUSA report Global Wildcat awards of USD 6,000 to 12,000 per year for GPAs of 3.4 to 3.7. The USD 20,000+ band is reserved for a 3.8+ GPA plus IELTS 7.0 or TOEFL 90+.
Indian UG applicants should target the Global Wildcat as the primary award and layer a program-specific pot on top. The Wilmington University overview page lists the six academic colleges you can stack against.
Wilmington University Scholarships for PG / Master’s Students
Master’s applicants have the deepest scholarship bench at WilmU. Every one of the six colleges runs a USD 5,000 Dean’s Merit award, and Indian students qualify at a 4.0 undergraduate GPA.
| Scholarship | Amount (USD per year) | INR Equivalent | Eligibility | Deadline (2027 cycle) |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Wilmington University Graduate Scholarship | Up to 5,000 | Up to 4.77 Lakhs | Any master’s applicant, 2.5 GPA | Tentative April 15, 2027 |
| College Dean’s Merit Scholarship | 5,000 | 4.77 Lakhs | Master’s applicant in that specific college, 4.0 undergraduate GPA | Tentative April 15, 2027 |

| Future of Nursing Excellence Award | 500 to 2,000 | 0.48 to 1.91 Lakhs | MSN or health-sciences master’s, 3.0 GPA | Tentative April 15, 2027 |
Cybersecurity and MBA aspirants report the strongest stack: Global Wildcat plus the College of Business and Information Technology Dean’s Merit. The Wilmington University fees breakdown shows how each award applies against per-credit billing.
India-Specific Scholarships at Wilmington University
Wilmington University does not run an Indian-passport-only scholarship. Two internal awards, however, function as the de facto India-specific route because they target the international pool that Indians dominate.
| Scholarship | Amount (USD per year) | INR Equivalent | Who Qualifies | Application Note |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Global Wildcat Scholarship | 2,000 to 35,000 | 1.91 to 33.41 Lakhs | New international UG applicants with strong Class 12 marks and English test scores | No separate form; award decision arrives with the I-20 |
| International Student Merit Scholarship | 2,000 to 10,000 | 1.91 to 9.55 Lakhs | International UG or PG applicants with a strong academic record | Automatic on admission review; renewable at 3.0 GPA |
Two key notes for Indian applicants:
- Class 12 marksheets must be attested by a WES-affiliated evaluator; WilmU does not accept raw CBSE, ICSE, or state-board sheets for scholarship review.
- The medium-of-instruction English waiver does not extend to scholarship review; you still need IELTS 6.5 or TOEFL 80 for the top Global Wildcat tiers.
Applying early beats applying late. WilmU reviews scholarship budgets in the order applications arrive. An Indian applicant submitting by December 15, 2026 has a stronger shot than a mid-January filer.
Wilmington University PhD Scholarships
Doctoral funding at Wilmington University is thinner than at top-tier US research universities. WilmU is a teaching-first private school, so PhD aid is limited to a handful of program-specific pots plus external routes.
| Scholarship | Amount (USD per year) | INR Equivalent | Eligibility | Deadline (2027 cycle) |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Virginia A. and David L. Danner Doctoral Nursing Scholarship | 5,000 | 4.77 Lakhs | DNP program enrolment, 3.0 GPA | Tentative October 15, 2026 (Spring 2027 intake) |
| College Dean’s Merit (Doctoral tier) | 5,000 | 4.77 Lakhs | Doctoral applicant in that specific college, 4.0 master’s GPA | Tentative April 15, 2027 |
| Wilmington University Doctoral Grant | Up to 5,000 | Up to 4.77 Lakhs | Any Ed.D., DNP, or DBA applicant, 2.5 graduate GPA | Tentative April 15, 2027 |
| Global Wildcat Scholarship (Doctoral) | 2,000 to 20,000 | 1.91 to 19.09 Lakhs | New international doctoral applicant | Automatic on admission |
Indian doctoral candidates should pair a WilmU internal award with a Fulbright-Nehru Doctoral Research Fellowship. That combination is what most Ed.D. and DNP candidates from India use to close the funding gap.
External Government Scholarships for Wilmington University Indian Students
Indian students at WilmU lean heavily on external India and US-India scholarships. The internal pool does not fully cover tuition plus Delaware living costs. The awards below are the ones Indian passport holders actually win.
| Scholarship | Amount | INR Equivalent | Eligibility | Deadline |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Fulbright-Nehru Master’s Fellowship | USD 35,000 to 45,000 per year | 33.41 to 42.95 Lakhs per year | Indian citizen, bachelor’s degree, 3 years work experience | Tentative May 15, 2027 (for 2028-29 cohort) |
| Fulbright-Nehru Doctoral Research Fellowship | Full stipend plus tuition plus airfare | Fully funded (6 to 9 months) | Indian citizen registered for PhD at an Indian institution | Tentative July 15, 2027 |
| Inlaks Shivdasani Foundation Scholarship | Up to USD 100,000 total | Up to 95.45 Lakhs total | Indian citizen under 30, first-class undergraduate degree | Tentative March 24, 2027 |
| JN Tata Endowment Loan Scholarship | INR 1 to 10 Lakhs | 1 to 10 Lakhs (soft loan) | Indian citizen, PG or PhD abroad | Tentative March 25, 2027 |
| KC Mahindra Scholarship for Post-Graduate Studies | Up to INR 8 Lakhs | 8 Lakhs (interest-free) | Indian citizen with admission to a foreign PG program | Tentative March 31, 2027 |
| Aga Khan Foundation International Scholarship | 50% grant plus 50% loan | Varies (need plus merit) | Indian applicants from selected districts, PG only | Tentative March 31, 2027 |
| Narotam Sekhsaria Foundation Scholarship | Interest-free loan up to INR 20 Lakhs | Up to 20 Lakhs | Indian citizen under 30 with a top overseas admission offer | Tentative April 20, 2027 |
Reddit Insight: On r/developersIndia, WilmU cybersecurity applicants stack Global Wildcat (USD 8,000 to 15,000) with a JN Tata soft loan of INR 6 to 10 Lakhs. This keeps yearly out-of-pocket cost near USD 8,000 (INR 7.64 Lakhs).
Delaware is a low-cost living state compared with New York or California. Housing near WilmU’s New Castle campus runs USD 800 to 1,100 per month (INR 0.76 to 1.05 Lakhs). A Fulbright-Nehru stipend covers rent, groceries, and health insurance with room to spare.

Wilmington University Scholarships: Frequently Asked Questions
Ques. What is the maximum scholarship stack an Indian student can secure at Wilmington University?
Ans. The realistic ceiling is around USD 45,000 per year (INR 42.95 Lakhs) for a master’s candidate. That combines a Global Wildcat award of USD 20,000, a College Dean’s Merit of USD 5,000, and an external Fulbright-Nehru stipend of USD 20,000. Full-ride combinations are rare because WilmU does not publish tuition waivers larger than USD 35,000.
Ques. When should Indian applicants apply for Wilmington University scholarships?
Ans. Submit your admission application by mid-February 2027 for the Fall 2027 intake to hit the peak scholarship review window. Global Wildcat decisions arrive with the I-20 packet, usually within 4 to 6 weeks of a complete application. External awards like Fulbright-Nehru close much earlier, so plan those tracks in parallel with the WilmU application.
Ques. How does the Global Wildcat Scholarship application work?
Ans. There is no separate form. Every international UG applicant is auto-considered when the admission file is reviewed. The award amount is set by your Class 12 percentage or GPA, IELTS or TOEFL score, and any prior college credits. Higher scores map to higher tiers, with USD 35,000 reserved for applicants above 3.8 GPA plus IELTS 7.5 or TOEFL 100.
Ques. What GPA do Indian students need for a Wilmington University merit scholarship?
Ans. The floor is 2.5 GPA on a 4.0 scale, roughly 65% in Class 12 CBSE or ISC. That opens the base Wilmington University Graduate Scholarship and Career-Based awards. To hit the USD 5,000 Dean’s Merit tier you need a 4.0 GPA, which maps to 85% or higher in Indian marking. Top Global Wildcat bands require the same 85%+ threshold.
Ques. Does the Global Wildcat Scholarship cover living costs in Delaware?
Ans. Not fully. At the maximum USD 35,000 award, tuition of USD 12,645 is wiped out and USD 22,000+ remains for living expenses. That covers rent, groceries, and utilities in New Castle. The annual cost of living for a single student sits at USD 14,000 to 18,000 (INR 13.36 to 17.18 Lakhs). Lower-tier Global Wildcat awards only clear tuition, leaving Indian students to fund living costs themselves.
Ques. Which Wilmington University programs offer the strongest scholarship packages for Indians?
Ans. The MBA and Cybersecurity master’s tracks pull the most WilmU scholarship dollars because both are flagged as high-need fields. Indian applicants in these programs frequently secure USD 10,000 to 12,000 combined per year through the Global Wildcat plus a Dean’s Merit or Career-Based award. Nursing doctoral candidates also do well through the Danner endowment. Review the Wilmington University programs list to match your fit.

- No Scholarships Available for International Students. Only for Domestic Students.
- No Financial Aid for me.
- And also, college does not have any health insurance, so we need to purchase off-campus.
- No on-campus hostels or dorms for the students, everyone should look for apt outside.
- I did not receive my scholarship. I'm not sure of avg no of students receiving scholarships.
- I used many WhatsApp groups from telegram channels and also the Yocket app to find someone to interact with students studying there before going there and finding an apartment or a room to live in.
- The monthly rent was around 350-400, all facilities included, water, electricity. This is so prob with accommodation, as we usually share an apartment with 8-10 students at a time, and also I have almost moved to 4 apartments in 2 years of my master's. My accommodation is 13miles from the college we have to take two buses to reach college.

- I got my accommodation through my senior, whom I used to know from the past 3 years. It's very easy to find accommodation off campus. There are some WhatsApp or Telegram groups available; if we post our needs available, most people will get a response. Monthly rent depends on the number of people living in that house, it costs around 500-700$ or maybe less than that amount.
