|---|---|---|
| Spring 2027 priority application deadline | 1 November 2026 | Applications continue on a rolling basis after this date until class capacity is filled |

Maryville University Admission Requirements for Indian Applicants 2027
Maryville University sets uniform academic and English-language thresholds for Indian applicants, with test minimums copied verbatim from the official international admissions page.
Postgraduate (masters and doctoral):
- Academic: Bachelor’s degree with cumulative 55% or CGPA 5.5/10 (recommended); MS Nursing and MA Education expect a higher 60% or CGPA 6.0/10
- English proficiency (verbatim): TOEFL iBT 79, IELTS 6.0 (6.5 for MS Nursing and MA Education), PTE Academic 47, Duolingo English Test 95
- Credential verification: WES or another NACES-member course-by-course evaluation of all transcripts
- Standout: GRE and GMAT are not required for most masters programmes; check the specific programme page before submission
Undergraduate:
- Academic: Class 12 completion with a minimum 2.5 GPA on 4.0 scale, which maps to roughly 65% to 70% for CBSE, ISC and state board applicants
- English proficiency (verbatim): TOEFL iBT 69, IELTS 6.0, PTE Academic 47, Duolingo English Test 95
- Credential verification: Course-by-course WES evaluation of Class 10 and Class 12 marksheets
Key insight: IELTS 6.0 is a lower bar than most private US universities demand, but Maryville does not waive the English requirement even for applicants from English-medium Indian boards. Submit a live test score with the application.
Maryville University Acceptance Rate 2027
Maryville University does not publish an official acceptance rate for international applicants, and third-party sources place the overall rate at 94% (estimated), making it one of the more accessible private US universities for Indian students with average academic profiles. This estimate is drawn from multiple third-party trackers and should be treated as an informed range rather than a verified figure.
| Year | Acceptance Rate | Trend |
|---|---|---|
| 2026 | 94% (estimated) | Stable |
| 2025 | 94% (estimated) | Stable |
| 2024 | 95% (estimated) | Slight tightening |
The high headline rate does not remove academic bars. Indian applicants still need to clear the 2.5 GPA floor for UG and the 55% Indian-scale floor for PG, plus the English test minimum, before an offer is issued.
Reality check: A 94% acceptance rate applies to complete applications only. Missing WES evaluation, low IELTS band or an unfunded financial affidavit will still trigger a denial or a hold, even for applicants who meet the academic threshold.

- Location and transport: 20 miles west of downtown St. Louis, served by MetroBus lines to Clayton and the Central West End MetroLink station; car ownership is common among senior students

What Indian students say: On-campus housing is easy to secure in the first year but off-campus apartments in Clayton and Chesterfield are the preferred move by year two; part-time jobs in campus dining and the library are the most reliable source of pocket money for F-1 holders.

As per US News 2026, Maryville is also ranked #250 in Top Performers on Social Mobility, a category that measures graduation outcomes for lower-income and first-generation students, and holds a US News Best Global Universities position of #249 as of the 2024 edition.
Key insight: Maryville sits outside the top 200 global rankings, which matters if your family or future employer in India uses a QS-band cutoff for reimbursement or hiring. For direct US employability the US News national rank and STEM-OPT eligibility do more of the work.

Maryville University Placements and Career Outcomes 2027
Maryville reports strong post-graduation outcomes across its career-focused programmes, driven by industry partnerships in healthcare, business and technology across the St. Louis metro.
- Employment or graduate school within 6 months: 97% of graduates
- Median salary six years post-graduation: $55,047 (₹52.61 Lakh) per year (market median, US Dept of Education College Scorecard)

Maryville University vs Peer Universities
Maryville is best compared with mid-tier private US universities in the Midwest that carry similar acceptance rates, tuition bands and Indian intake volumes.
| University | US News National 2026 | Collegedunia Study Abroad | Avg Annual PG Fee (USD / INR Lakh) | One-line differentiator |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Maryville University | #283 | #59 of 413 in USA | $26,000 (₹24.83 Lakh) | Hybrid delivery, zero application fee, iPad-issued technology programme |
| Saint Louis University | #105 (market median) | Ranked (verify) | $30,000 to $40,000 (₹28.67 to ₹38.23 Lakh) | Older Jesuit research university with medical school and larger STEM footprint |
| Webster University | Regional (market median) | Ranked (verify) | $28,000 (₹26.76 Lakh) | Global campus network with small class sizes and strong education programmes |
| Lindenwood University | Regional (market median) | Ranked (verify) | $18,000 (₹17.20 Lakh) | Lower PG tuition band and athletics-heavy campus culture |
[Source: US News Best Colleges 2026 and Collegedunia Study Abroad USA. Peer PG fees are market-median estimates; verify on each official page.]
Maryville stands out on two variables that matter to Indian applicants: the no-fee application removes a $50 to $75 barrier per shortlist university, and the iPad-based Digital World programme means every enrolled student receives a working device on arrival, cutting first-year setup costs. Peer alternatives in the region deliver stronger brand ranking but higher sticker price and application friction.
Maryville University is a strong fit for Indian applicants targeting career-focused masters in Cyber Security, Data Science or MBA, with a total investment of $28,000 to $30,000 (₹26.76 to ₹28.67 Lakh) per year against a median post-graduation salary of $55,047 (₹52.61 Lakh) that produces workable payback within four to five years. The STEM-OPT eligibility for technology programmes gives Indian graduates a 36-month runway to land H-1B sponsorship at USA universities after graduation.
Maryville is not the right pick for applicants who need a top-100 global brand for family or employer reimbursement, or who want a research-heavy PhD environment with named laboratories. Saint Louis University sits ten miles away with a stronger US News national position and full medical-research infrastructure, and is worth a parallel application for candidates chasing that profile.
Maryville University FAQs
Ques. What is the application fee for international applicants at Maryville University?
Ans. Maryville University charges no application fee for undergraduate or graduate international applicants, including students from India. This is unusual for a US private university, where fees typically run $50 to $100 per application. Indian students can therefore shortlist Maryville alongside three or four paid applications without extra financial commitment, which lowers the total cost of the US shortlist stage.
Ques. Does Maryville require GRE or GMAT scores for masters programmes?
Ans. Most Maryville masters programmes, including the MBA, MS Data Science, MS Cyber Security and MS Data Analytics, do not require GRE or GMAT scores as of the 2027 cycle. Certain healthcare-focused programmes like Speech-Language Pathology may request GRE, and the requirement is programme-specific rather than university-wide. Indian applicants should confirm on the individual programme page before booking a test slot.
Ques. Can Indian students get IELTS or TOEFL waivers at Maryville University?
Ans. Maryville University does not offer conditional admission or blanket IELTS and TOEFL waivers based on English-medium instruction in India, and this is explicitly stated on the international admissions page. Every Indian applicant whose first language is not English must submit a live TOEFL iBT, IELTS, PTE Academic or Duolingo English Test score with the application, even graduates of CBSE or ISC English-medium schools.
Ques. Which Maryville programmes are STEM-designated for the OPT extension?
Ans. Maryville lists MS Data Science, MS Data Analytics, MS Cyber Security and BS in the same disciplines as STEM-designated programmes on the CIP code list, which makes graduates eligible for the 24-month STEM OPT extension on top of the standard 12-month OPT. This gives Indian graduates a full three years to secure H-1B sponsorship, a strong advantage over business-only masters at other US universities.
Ques. How many hours can F-1 students work on campus at Maryville University?
Ans. F-1 visa holders at Maryville can work up to 20 hours per week on campus during active term time and up to 40 hours per week during official university breaks like winter and summer vacation. On-campus roles include library assistants, dining services, and administrative support in academic departments, with pay typically in the $12 to $15 per hour band. Off-campus work requires CPT or OPT authorisation.
Ques. What transcript evaluation does Maryville accept for Indian applicants?
Ans. Maryville University accepts course-by-course transcript evaluations from any NACES-member agency, with WES the most commonly used option among Indian applicants. The evaluation must convert Indian percentage or CGPA scores to the US 4.0 GPA scale and list all subjects with US credit-hour equivalents. Order the evaluation eight to ten weeks before the priority deadline to avoid processing delays for admission or F-1 visa issuance.
Ques. Are graduate students at Maryville University eligible for institutional scholarships?
Ans. Graduate students at Maryville University are not eligible for institutional merit or need-based scholarships; this is explicitly confirmed on the international admissions page. Masters applicants should treat the programme as self-funded through savings, family support or an Indian education loan against approved lenders like SBI, HDFC Credila or Prodigy. External scholarships from bodies like Inlaks and JN Tata Endowment may still be pursued independently.
Ques. Does Maryville University offer January intake admission for Indian students?
Ans. Yes, Maryville confirms a Spring intake starting mid-January every year with a priority application deadline of 1 November, and this intake is open to most masters and undergraduate programmes. Some healthcare programmes like MS Nursing and Doctor of Physical Therapy admit in Fall only, so Indian applicants targeting January entry should verify programme availability before booking WES and English tests.

Overview
I knew I wanted to study music therapy and Go to school in Missouri. There are only three schools in Missouri who offer music therapy so I chose the one in my own city. They also have the best program in the state and best placement.
Fees
The total cost of the school is 23,000 dollars but with scholarships, I pay 11,000 dollars. I am a commuter so I don't have to pay for housing or food on campus.

It is mandatory for all international students with English as a secondary language to submit a valid English Language Proficiency test score. However, there are certain criteria that will exempt international students from submitting this score. You can check the exemption criteria from the English Language Requirement page on the university’s website.
