University of Mary Hardin Baylor Application Deadlines and Intakes
University of Mary Hardin Baylor uses a rolling-admission calendar for international students, but each intake carries a recommended completion date so the university can issue the I-20 (the US government form F-1 visa holders need to enter the country) in time for classes. Miss the recommended date and the file may still be reviewed, but visa scheduling gets tight. UMHB’s primary intake for Indian students is Fall (August), where the widest set of master’s and undergraduate programs opens.
Recommended completion dates per the UMHB graduate international admissions page:
| Intake | Level | App Opens | Recommended Deadline | App Fee | Portal |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Spring 2027 (January) | UG & PG | Rolling | End of October 2026 | USD 75 (INR 7,155) | apply.umhb.edu |
| Summer 2027 (May) | UG & PG | Rolling | End of February 2027 | USD 75 (INR 7,155) | apply.umhb.edu |
| Fall 2027 (August) — Primary intake | UG & PG | Rolling | End of May 2027 | USD 75 (INR 7,155) | apply.umhb.edu |
UMHB advises submitting the complete file at least two months before the semester begins, since the I-20 issuance, visa slot booking at a US consulate in India, and travel all sit downstream of the offer. Apply early rather than at the recommended date if you also need on-campus housing.
University of Mary Hardin Baylor Eligibility and English Requirements
Academic eligibility at University of Mary Hardin Baylor uses standard US regional-university floors and a single institution-wide English band that applies across nearly every program. The academic thresholds below come from the official UMHB international admissions and graduate admissions pages.
- UG general entry: Class XII at 65 percent, plus a high school diploma or completion certificate.
- PG general entry: Four-year Bachelor’s degree with a 3.0 US GPA (around 75 percent in Indian terms) on the final 60 credits or cumulative.
- MBA specific: Bachelor’s plus a resume showing at least 2 years of professional experience. No GMAT or GRE required.
- 3-year Indian Bachelor’s: UMHB expects a 4-year undergraduate degree. Applicants with a 3-year BA or BSc typically need a course-by-course WES (World Education Services) evaluation, and may need bridging credits.
All international applicants must show English proficiency. UMHB accepts the following tests at institution-wide floors:
| Test | UG Minimum | PG Minimum |
|---|---|---|
| IELTS | 6.0 in each band | 6.0 in each band |
| TOEFL iBT | 80 with 20 in each band | 80 with 20 in each band |
| TOEFL paper-based | 550 | Not applicable |
| SAT / ACT (UG only) | Acceptable English section score waives TOEFL | Not applicable |
University of Mary Hardin Baylor English Waiver Options
Waivers are narrow and Indian applicants should not assume one applies. The UMHB undergraduate English page grants exemption only to citizens or applicants with recent full-time education in Britain, Australia, New Zealand, Canada, or the British West Indies. India is not on that list, so Indian UG applicants must sit IELTS or TOEFL.
For master’s applicants, the graduate English page allows a discretionary waiver if the student "has attended an English-speaking college or preparatory school before admission to UMHB." Indian applicants with a full English-medium Bachelor’s may request review by writing to the Chair of the MFL Department at UMHB. The waiver is not automatic and should be requested before the application closes.
University of Mary Hardin Baylor PG Programs Admission
University of Mary Hardin Baylor runs around 10 master’s-level programs open to international students, spanning business, information systems, nursing, education, counseling, health sciences, and public health. All PG programs share the institution-wide 3.0 GPA and IELTS 6.0 floor, though clinical programs (occupational therapy, physician assistant) add profession-specific prerequisites. Base tuition for most PG programs runs at USD 865 (INR 82,521) per credit hour plus a USD 75 (INR 7,155) per-credit technology fee, which puts a typical 36-credit master’s at roughly USD 33,840 (INR 32.28 Lakhs) in total tuition. Full course-by-course figures live on the detailed course-wise fees breakdown.

University of Mary Hardin Baylor UG Programs Admission
University of Mary Hardin Baylor offers over 60 undergraduate majors across business, nursing, education, arts, sciences, music, and exercise science. All four-year Bachelor’s programs use the same institution-wide floor: Class XII around 65 percent, English proficiency at IELTS 6.0 or TOEFL iBT 80, and full-time enrollment of at least 12 credits per semester to keep F-1 visa status. SAT or ACT is not mandatory but a strong English section score can waive the TOEFL requirement.
| Programme | Duration | Minimum Eligibility | English Req. Min. |
|---|---|---|---|
| Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) | 4 years (120 credits) | Class XII at 65 percent | IELTS 6.0 |
| Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) | 4 years | Class XII at 65 percent with Biology and Chemistry | IELTS 6.0 |

| Bachelor of Music (BM) | 4 years | Class XII at 65 percent plus audition | IELTS 6.0 |
Nursing (BSN) and pre-health BS majors are more competitive than general BA tracks and often carry higher effective admit standards even though the published floor is the same. Indian applicants aiming for BSN should show strong Class XII marks in Biology and Chemistry.
University of Mary Hardin Baylor MBA Admission
The University of Mary Hardin Baylor MBA is a 36-credit hour program aimed at working professionals. It is one of the more open-door US MBAs for Indian applicants because it does not require GMAT or GRE, and the professional experience threshold is only 2 years. That combination is unusual among US MBAs and is the main reason Indian applicants shortlist UMHB alongside larger state universities.
Core MBA admission requirements from the official UMHB MBA admissions page:
- Undergraduate degree: Four-year Bachelor’s from a regionally accredited institution.
- GPA: 3.0 or higher in the final 60 credit hours or cumulative.
- Work experience: Resume showing at least 2 years of professional work experience.
- English proficiency: IELTS 6.0 in each band or TOEFL iBT 80 with 20 in each band.
- Application fee: USD 75 (INR 7,155) for international applicants.
MBA base tuition runs at USD 865 (INR 82,521) per credit hour plus a USD 75 (INR 7,155) per-credit technology and general services fee. A full 36-credit MBA therefore costs roughly USD 33,840 (INR 32.28 Lakhs) in tuition and fees. UMHB does not publish a formal interview stage for MBA admissions; the file review is document-based, with the graduate program office contacting applicants only if clarification is needed. Rolling deadlines apply, with the same primary Fall intake window as the rest of the graduate programs.
Insider note: Because the MBA has no GMAT and only 2 years of experience, the file gets judged heavily on the resume narrative and Bachelor’s transcript quality. Indian applicants should ask a manager for a work-experience letter on company letterhead confirming role, dates, and responsibilities, even though a formal LOR is not universally mandated.
University of Mary Hardin Baylor Application Process
The University of Mary Hardin Baylor application runs through a single online portal for both undergraduate and graduate applicants. Steps below are drawn from the official international admissions instructions and typically take 30 to 45 minutes for a first pass, followed by document upload over the next few weeks.
- Create a portal account at apply.umhb.edu and pick the correct application type: International Undergraduate or International Graduate.
- Complete the online application with personal details, academic history, intended program, and Statement of Understanding.
- Upload academic transcripts from Class X, Class XII, and any Bachelor’s transcripts with certified English translations.
- Upload English test score (IELTS or TOEFL) and passport identification page valid for at least 6 months from enrollment.
- Pay the application fee of USD 75 (INR 7,155) on the apply.umhb.edu portal at the end of the form.
- Submit financial documents: a signed Affidavit of Support and bank statement showing at least USD 28,030 (INR 26.74 Lakhs) available for one year of study.
- Meningitis vaccine or booster proof is required under Texas state law before enrollment.
- Course-by-course transcript evaluation from WES or an equivalent NACES member is submitted after I-20 issuance for degree posting.
University of Mary Hardin Baylor Admission Decisions Timeline
Because UMHB is rolling, applicants typically hear back within 4 to 8 weeks of the file being marked complete, provided every document is on file. Offers arrive as an admission letter and, once financial and passport documents are cleared, an I-20 is issued so the applicant can book the F-1 visa interview at the US consulate in New Delhi, Mumbai, Chennai, Kolkata, or Hyderabad.
- Offer letter: 4 to 8 weeks after the file is complete.
- I-20 issuance: After the Affidavit of Support and passport copy clear.
- Offer acceptance: Confirm acceptance through the applicant portal before I-20 is released.
- Deferral: Admitted students may request deferral to a later intake by writing to International Student Services.
- Conditional offers: Applicants below the English floor may enter through the ESOL (English for Speakers of Other Languages) pathway with a conditional letter.
University of Mary Hardin Baylor Documents Required
Paperwork below is the standard document set UMHB expects from Indian applicants. All academic and identity documents should be in English or accompanied by certified translations. Keep scanned PDFs under 5 MB each for the portal.
- Class X and Class XII mark sheets and passing certificate (UG applicants)
- Bachelor’s degree certificate and consolidated marks memo (PG applicants)
- Copy of the passport identification page, valid at least 6 months beyond enrollment
- IELTS or TOEFL score report sent from the testing agency
- Signed Statement of Understanding form
- Signed Affidavit of Support with sponsor bank statement showing USD 28,030 (INR 26.74 Lakhs) available
- Meningitis vaccine or booster certificate
- Resume with dated work-experience entries (MBA applicants, at least 2 years)
- Course-by-course WES evaluation (submitted after I-20 issuance)
- Two passport-size photos in the specification set by the portal
Note: UMHB does not require SAT, ACT, GMAT, or GRE from Indian applicants for most programs. Standardized-test score reports are optional supporting documents.
University of Mary Hardin Baylor Acceptance Rate
University of Mary Hardin Baylor does not publish a formal Common Data Set acceptance rate on its admissions pages. Third-party estimates place the acceptance rate at around 79 percent, based on rolling-admission patterns typical of open-enrollment private universities in Texas. In practice this means most Indian applicants who meet the Class XII 65 percent or 3.0 GPA floor and the IELTS 6.0 minimum are admitted.
What Tips the University of Mary Hardin Baylor Decision
Even at a high admit rate, individual files can be denied where transcripts are incomplete, English scores fall short, or the financial affidavit does not show USD 28,030 (INR 26.74 Lakhs) available. Nursing and health-science programs (BSN, MSN, DPT, OTD) run on cohort caps and are the harder-to-crack tracks. UMHB sits in the QS Global 801-1000 ranking band, and its US News Regional West placement often influences employer awareness in Texas.
Insider note: Because UMHB is rolling and access-oriented (meaning it admits most applicants who meet the stated requirements), the biggest deciding factor is completeness. A file that arrives with WES evaluation, IELTS, and Affidavit of Support already attached often clears review within two weeks; incomplete files sit for months.
USA F-1 Student Visa for University of Mary Hardin Baylor Applicants
Indian students accepted to University of Mary Hardin Baylor apply for the F-1 non-immigrant student visa. Once UMHB issues the I-20, applicants pay the SEVIS (Student and Exchange Visitor Information System) I-901 fee of USD 350 (INR 33,390), complete the DS-160 online visa form, and book a biometrics and interview slot at the US consulate in New Delhi, Mumbai, Chennai, Kolkata, or Hyderabad. Documents at interview include the I-20, passport, DS-160 confirmation, SEVIS receipt, UMHB offer letter, financial proof, and transcripts. Full walkthrough on the F-1 and J-1 student visa guide.
2026 update: US consulate interview slots in India have tightened during peak summer months. Book the F-1 interview within one week of receiving the I-20 to secure a slot before the Fall intake start.
Tips for University of Mary Hardin Baylor Admissions
The following tips are drawn from Indian-applicant patterns at University of Mary Hardin Baylor and address the recurring bottlenecks.
- Apply 8 to 10 months ahead: Rolling does not mean fast. Aim for the Fall intake by starting the file the previous August.
- Book IELTS early: Test slot backlogs in Indian metros can push the IELTS date by 4 to 6 weeks in peak season.
- Get WES ordered by month 3: WES course-by-course evaluations take 20 business days after all transcripts arrive.
- Front-load the Affidavit of Support: Submit the signed affidavit plus bank statement in the first document upload to avoid I-20 delays.
- Ask about the MFL waiver early: PG applicants from English-medium Bachelor’s programs can email the MFL Department Chair before uploading IELTS.
- Confirm meningitis vaccination: Texas state law requires the vaccine within 5 years of enrollment for students under 22.
- Keep scans clean: UMHB rejects blurry or partial mark-sheet uploads, adding weeks to processing.

- Flexible with online classes, we can just visit twice per semester.
- Easy assignments as they are mostly theory and can be found online resources easily.
- Low fee compared to other universities and since it is in Texas even the cost of living is less
Dislikes
- Not many specializations included for MS. If we have completed our bachelor’s in engineering, then we only have one/two options.
- The standard of syllabus and faculty experience is not as per current requirements.
- Less chances of working as assistant professors as they are limited branches. May be one or two posts and that too professors are very biased in selecting as they are done on merit or performance matrix.
Scholarship
- There is no scholarship for immigrants. For those who worked in US military there is a fee waiver. Regarding the scholarship we get a 2000$ for everyone who secure 4/4 cgpa. None of my friends nor classmates has received financial aid.
- I have received the scholarship just as many of them receive for securing 4/4cgpa. There is no particular name for this. We can either transfer this amount to bank account or get the reduced amount for next semester
