North Bengal University Result 2026 is out course-wise for UG and PG exams. The latest batch came out on September 24, 2026. It covered PG Applied Geology, Chemistry and Microbiology, Semesters 2 and 4.

The University of North Bengal (NBU), Darjeeling, publishes results in two places. UG students search by registration number on nbuexams.net. PG result sheets appear as PDFs on the nbu.ac.in results page.

UG 6th semester results under FYUGP came out on July 24, 2026. The reassessment window for them closed on August 10, 2026. Pass marks are 40 percent in aggregate for each paper.

The steps differ for UG and PG students. UG students get a personal marksheet. PG students get a department-wise result sheet.

Steps for UG Students

1. Open nbuexams.net.
2. Go to the Results section on the home page.
3. Choose the "Search the Results" option.
4. Enter the NBU registration number.
5. View the result and download the marksheet.

Colleges usually get access first. For the July 24 result, colleges logged in at 1:00 pm. Students got access at 1:30 pm.

Steps for PG Students

1. Open the NBU results page.
2. Click Post Graduate Results.
3. Find the subject and semester, then click download.
4. Search the PDF for the roll number.

Example: An M.Sc. Chemistry 2nd semester student opens the September 24, 2026 sheet. The sheet shows the roll number, registration number, total marks and SGPA.

What the NBU Grade Card Shows

The provisional result shows only total marks and SGPA. The full grade card comes after the semester ends. It lists each course code, title, marks, credits and grade. It also shows SGPA for that semester and CGPA across semesters.

UG marksheets reach students through their college. Colleges collected 6th semester marksheets on July 30, 2026. PG 4th semester students collect original grade cards from their department.

Note: PG students must show the admit card and clearance certificates. These come from the department, library, finance office and hostel.

NBU Grading System and SGPA Calculation

NBU turns the marks in each paper into a grade point. The FYUGP regulations set these bands.

SGPA is the total credit points divided by total credits. Credit points are credits multiplied by the grade point.

Example: A student takes five 4-credit papers. The grades are O, A+, A, B+ and C. Credit points add up to 156 over 20 credits. So the SGPA is 7.80.

How to Apply for Revaluation and Scrutiny After the NBU Result

NBU offers two options after the result. Post-Publication Review (PPR) means a fresh evaluation of the answer script. Post-Publication Scrutiny (PPS) only checks marking and totals.

PPR and PPS Rules

• PPR is allowed in up to 50 percent of theory papers.
• Practicals, orals, projects, fieldwork and OMR papers cannot be reviewed.
• PPR and PPS cannot be taken for the same paper.
• A change above 20 percent of full marks needs a third examiner.
• A lower PPR mark never turns a pass into a fail.

UG 1st semester PPR and PPS results came out on August 25, 2026. They appeared on nbuexams.net and nbuexams.com.

Important: NBU never refunds the PPR fee once paid.

NBU Result Problems and Corrections

Most result problems come from the portal, the sheet format or a data error. PG sheets list roll numbers, not names.

• Result not found: PG students should check the PDF sheet, not nbuexams.net.
• Wrong name or marks: The college Principal sends corrections to assistantcont1@nbu.ac.in. For the July 24 result, the last date was August 7, 2026.
• Result briefly offline: FYUGP results can go offline for a short time. This happened to Semester II and IV results in September 2025.

Ans: SNC means Semester Not Cleared. The student failed one or more papers. The student retakes only those papers in the next matching semester.

Ques: What does Q mean on the NBU marksheet?

Ans: Q means Qualified. The student has passed every paper in that semester.

Ques: What are the minimum pass marks at NBU?

Ans: The semester-end exam needs 30 percent. Practicals need 40 percent. The overall total for the paper must reach 40 percent.

Ques: How to convert NBU CGPA to percentage?

Ans: NBU multiplies the SGPA or CGPA by 10. A CGPA of 6.95 equals 69.5 percent.

Ques: Can internal assessment marks be improved after the result?

Ans: No. There is no re-test for internal assessment. The marks carry over to later attempts.
