CBSE Term 1 Exams 2021: On December 09, 2021, the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) smoothly conducted the Term 1 Geography examination of Class 12th. The examination started at 11:30 AM and it lasted for an hour and a half. Students were given 50 questions, which had to be done by 1:00 PM. Most of the students who appeared for today’s geography examination managed to complete the test before the finishing time.
CBSE Class 12 Geography Examination: Pattern of Questions
In the examination, the students were asked a total of 50 questions which had to be answered in 90 minutes. Students had to do 20 questions out of 24 in section A which was based on Human Geography. Section B also had a total of 24 questions out of which the students had to attempt 20. Section B consisted of India- People and Economy. Lastly, section C has a total of 12 questions out of which the students had to answer 10. Section C was on Practical-processing of Data and Thematic Map.
In the last section, the major emphasis was on the Map-based practical comprehension questions. All the 3 sections consisted of 15 marks each. 35 marks were allotted in total whereas the total weightage was 45 marks for 60 questions. All the 35 questions were mostly theoretical based on the new bifurcated syllabus of the Term 1 Geography exam.

Soma Majumdar, PGT Geography said, the geography examination was easy and balanced. The question in Section A was completely from the NCERT books. Section A had a combination of knowledge-based and application based questions. The level of difficulty for this examination was medium. Application and critical thinking were the main focus of section B.

Section A questions were a bit direct and completely based on the NCERT textbooks. Section B was completely focused on the combination of knowledge-based and application-based questions. The questions related to data and graphs were very easy to do.
“The examination was balanced but the application based questions were lengthy and tricky”

A high level of thinking was required for the application based questions. The best part was that the examination was balanced and I am expecting a score somewhere between 30 to 35.
