Queensland University of Technology Application Deadlines

QUT runs two coursework intakes a year: Semester 1 starts in late February, Semester 2 starts in late July. Indian applicants must apply offshore through a QUT-registered agent before the published offshore deadline. Research degrees accept rolling applications all year. QUT’s primary intake for Indian students is Semester 2 (July), where most coursework programs open, and the earlier published deadline falls.

Eligibility at QUT splits cleanly into an academic floor and an English-proficiency floor. All the UG and PG requirements are course-specific, including English language requirements. Both must be cleared before the agent submits the application. Competitive courses such as Law, Architecture, and Nursing apply a higher cut than the institution-wide minimum.

• UG general entry: Class XII at 60% average across the best five academic subjects (CBSE or CISCE)
• UG competitive courses: Class XII 80 to 90% for Law, Nursing, and selected science streams
• UG subject prerequisites: Mathematical Methods for Engineering, IT, and Science; English at Class XII level for most programs
• PG general entry: Recognised Bachelor’s degree with GPA 4.00 on QUT’s 7-point scale, roughly 605 in an Indian undergraduate degree
• PG cognate requirement: Some masters need a Bachelor’s in a related discipline or three years of professional work experience in the field

QUT accepts four English tests for proficiency. Use the lowest-scoring band you can clear comfortably, since QUT rejects any application where a sub-band falls below the published floor.

• IELTS Academic: Overall 6.5, no sub-band below 6.0
• TOEFL iBT: Overall 79, writing 21, speaking 18, others 16 or higher
• PTE Academic: Overall 58, no sub-band below 50

Queensland University of Technology IELTS Waiver for Indian Students

QUT’s Master of Business Administration (MBA) is currently paused for international applicants and remains open only to Australian and New Zealand citizens. Indian applicants are not eligible to enrol in the MBA at this time and should track the QUT business page for the next intake opening.

Planning note: The Master of Information Technology runs a 1.5-year track for IT-background applicants and a 2-year track for non-IT graduates. Mention your preferred stream on the application, but QUT auto-assesses the shorter track first if your transcript supports it.

8. Lodge the Subclass 500 student visa application with the CoE and supporting documents

QUT International typically returns a decision in 4 to 6 weeks from a complete submission. Decisions arrive as either a conditional offer, an unconditional offer, or a package offer combining an English program with the main course.
