Visa Requirements for International Applicants

After receiving the acceptance letter from the university applicants need to apply for a valid visa in order to study in Canada. In order to study at Lakehead, the applicants will require a study permit. To enter Canada students even require a Temporary Residence Visa.

There are three options for application available to international applicants depending upon the type of program they choose.

Case-1: International Applicants interested in either full-time or part-time study can directly apply through Lakehead University Application Form.

Case-2: International applicants applying via pathway partner or approved agency can also apply online through Lakehead University Application Form.

Case 3: International applicants applying to 1-year honors Bachelor of social work or a 2-year bachelor of education can apply online through Ontario Universities Application Center

Requirements for Indian Students

  • State Higher Secondary certificate awarded by a state board of Higher Secondary Education or Delhi Senior School Certificate awarded by a central board or Indian School Certificate awarded by the council for Indian School Certificate Examinations.

32 masters degrees, 3 graduate diplomas, and 19 graduate certificates are offered. International applicants can apply for only master courses. English Language Requirements for PG programs

  • Applicant must be a graduate from an institution where the language of instruction and examination has been uniformly in English.
  • Official Documents indicating that the primary medium of instruction is English must be submitted upon request directly from the institution.
  • An official letter stating that the student's medium of instruction was English for three full years or more.
  • Institution's Registrar or Chief Officer sign should be there on the letter along with stamp or seal of the institution.
