Niagara College Canada awards 10 international scholarships and bursaries, of which 9 are accessible to Indian applicants. Only 1 award pays out per term, so the practical single-term ceiling sits at C$4,000 (INR 2.74 Lakhs) via the Global Scholarship.
The 3 highest-value awards for Indians are the Global Scholarship, the multi-term Degree Bursary and the Language Ready Scholarship. Amounts run C$1,000 to C$20,000 (INR 68,570 to 13.71 Lakhs) depending on award type and term count. The India and Nepal Trailblazer Bursary added C$1,500 automatically in its 2025-26 cycle; a 2026-27 refresh is tentative.
- Standard first-year international tuition: C$17,000 to C$22,000 (INR 11.66 to 15.09 Lakhs), varies by program.
- With the Trailblazer Bursary applied automatically, Indian nationals shave C$1,500 (INR 1.03 Lakhs) off the first term.
- Applying for the Global Scholarship trims another C$4,000 (INR 2.74 Lakhs) if you begin in Winter or Spring 2027.
- Next scholarship-linked deadline for Indians is the Spring 2027 (May) intake, closing 30 October 2026 IST.
Currency Note: All INR conversions use the live rate of 1 CAD = INR 68.57 as of September 2026. Bursary means need-based; scholarship means merit-based or entrance-based.

The Niagara College Canada Overview lists 4-year bachelor’s degrees in Business Administration and Hospitality Management. Both qualify for the multi-term Degree Bursary of C$2,500 per term (INR 1.71 Lakhs).
Diploma and advanced diploma applicants do not qualify for the Degree Bursary. They compete for the Global Scholarship and Language Ready Scholarship instead. Fall 2026 (September) intake starters cannot claim the Global Scholarship; it is scoped to Winter and Spring 2027 starts only.
Niagara College Canada Scholarships for Graduate Certificate Students
Indian graduate certificate and postgraduate diploma applicants tap the same core pool as UG applicants, plus 2 award types built for second-credential and returning enrolments. All are capped at 1 award per term.
| Scholarship | Amount (CAD / INR) | Eligibility | Application | Deadline |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Global Scholarship | C$4,000 (INR 2.74 Lakhs) | New international, first full-time postsecondary program at Niagara; Winter 2027 or Spring 2027 start | Form required | Prior to Term 1 opening (tentative 30 April 2027 IST for Spring) |
| Language Ready Scholarship | C$1,000 (INR 68,570) | New international from non-English first-language country; IELTS 7.0 or CLB 9 | Form required | Prior to first class day |
| Second Program Scholarship | C$1,000 to C$2,000 (INR 68,570 to 1.37 Lakhs) | International student pursuing a second credential at Niagara College | Form required | Prior to Term 1 opening |
| ESL Online to Postsecondary Scholarship | C$2,500 to C$5,000 (INR 1.71 to 3.43 Lakhs) | Completed ESL Online Level 10, transitioning to in-person academic program | Automatic | Day 10 post-enrolment auto-credit |
| International Student Awards | Varies (typically C$500 to C$1,500, INR 34,285 to 1.03 Lakhs) | Returning students with top academic record and active co-curricular involvement | Automatic; one recipient per school | Fall and Winter semesters each year |
Popular graduate certificates like Business Analytics cost C$20,378 (INR 13.97 Lakhs) per year. A Global Scholarship award covers roughly 20% of that first-year outlay.
Reddit Insight: Indian graduate certificate applicants on international-student forums flag the 1-award-per-term rule at Niagara as the biggest gotcha. Students planning to also claim the Global Scholarship report timing the Global application for the term when Trailblazer is not paying out.
India-Specific Scholarships at Niagara College Canada
Niagara College Canada runs 1 India-specific award: the Trailblazer Bursary. It bundles Indian and Nepali applicants and pays C$1,500 (INR 1.03 Lakhs) automatically once per lifetime.
| Scholarship | Amount (CAD / INR) | Eligibility | Application | Deadline |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Trailblazer Bursary | C$1,500 (INR 1.03 Lakhs), one-time lifetime | New international students from India and Nepal; first full-time postsecondary program; study permit application submitted with proof emailed to Niagara | Automatic once study permit proof reaches Niagara International | Last confirmed cycle: Fall 2025 / Winter 2026 (closed 10 June 2025); refresh tentative for Fall 2026 |
Reddit Insight: Indian applicants weighing Trailblazer versus Global report the higher-value Global Scholarship (C$4,000) is C$2,500 richer, if you can secure it via the application form. Because Niagara caps students at 1 award per term, Trailblazer and Global are effectively mutually exclusive in Term 1.
Applicants targeting Winter or Spring 2027 intakes should skip the Trailblazer auto-credit and apply for the Global instead. Applicants starting Fall 2026 (September) have no Global option and default to the Trailblazer (if the 2026-27 cycle opens) or the Language Ready award at C$1,000 (INR 68,570).

Niagara College Canada PhD Scholarships
Niagara College Canada does not confer PhD degrees. It grants bachelor’s degrees, advanced diplomas, diplomas, graduate certificates and postgraduate certificates only.
Indian students planning a doctoral pathway complete a Niagara postgraduate credential first, then apply to a Canadian research university for PhD funding. The federal doctoral awards listed in the next section apply once you are enrolled at a research university.
The 3 realistic doctoral funding routes for Indians in Canada are:
- Canada Graduate Research Scholarship (CGRS-D): federal, C$40,000 per year (INR 27.43 Lakhs annually).
- Ontario Trillium Scholarship: province-level, C$40,000 per year (INR 27.43 Lakhs annually).
- Direct PhD assistantships from host research universities across Canada.
None of these awards are administered through Niagara College Canada.
External Government Scholarships for Indians at Niagara College Canada
Federal and bilateral awards for Indians in Canada mainly target research and doctoral study. Niagara College Canada offers primarily diplomas and graduate certificates, so external government scholarships apply on a limited basis.
| Scholarship | Amount (CAD / INR) | Eligibility | Application | Deadline |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Canada Graduate Research Scholarship (CGRS-D) | C$40,000 per year for 3 years (INR 27.43 Lakhs annually) | Indian doctoral students at a Canadian research university; does not cover college-level credentials | Via host university nomination | Tentative 1 November 2026 IST for 2027 intake |
| Shastri Research Student Fellowship (SICI) | C$1,100 to C$1,300 per month (INR 75,427 to 89,141 monthly) | Indian students conducting Canada-focused research at Indian universities | Via shastriinstitute.org or Mitacs portal | Tentative January 2027 IST for spring cycle |
| Canadian Commonwealth Scholarship and Fellowship Plan | Full tuition, travel and living stipend (varies) | Indian PhD, postdoctoral and visiting scholars at Canadian institutions | Via Government of Canada nomination | Tentative December 2026 IST for 2027-28 |
Reddit Insight: Indian graduate certificate students at Niagara consistently report that federal awards like CGRS-D and Commonwealth do not cover 1-year graduate certificate or diploma programs. Realistic funding for a Niagara postgraduate credential sits at C$4,000 to C$5,000 (INR 2.74 to 3.43 Lakhs) from internal scholarships only.
Indian applicants targeting Niagara diplomas or graduate certificates should treat internal awards as the primary source. The Canada master’s universities list covers research-degree paths where SICI and CGRS-D actually apply.

Niagara College Canada Scholarships: Frequently Asked Questions
Ques. What is the maximum scholarship an Indian student can stack at Niagara College Canada?
Ans. The single-term maximum is C$4,000 (INR 2.74 Lakhs) via the Global Scholarship. Niagara enforces a strict 1-award-per-term cap, so Trailblazer and Global do not combine. Over a 4-year bachelor’s degree, the Degree Bursary can compound to C$20,000 (INR 13.71 Lakhs) if a 65% term GPA is maintained.
Ques. When should Indian applicants apply for Niagara College Canada scholarships?
Ans. Application-based awards like the Global and Language Ready Scholarships close prior to Day 1 of each term. For a Spring 2027 (May) start, submit by late April 2027 (tentative 30 April 2027 IST). Automatic bursaries credit after Day 10 of the term.
Ques. How do you apply for the Global Scholarship at Niagara College Canada?
Ans. Submit the designated Global Scholarship form to Niagara College International prior to your first semester’s opening day. You must be a new international student in your first full-time postsecondary program starting Winter 2027 or Spring 2027. The award is not automatic and cannot combine with EAP, ESL Online, EAP Bursary or Degree Bursary awards.
Ques. What IELTS score does the Language Ready Scholarship at Niagara College Canada need?
Ans. IELTS 7.0 overall is the threshold, alongside CLB 9, TOEFL iBT 94, PTE 66, Cambridge 185 or Duolingo 130. Applicants must be new international students from a non-English first-language country. The award pays C$1,000 (INR 68,570) and requires a separate application form.
Ques. Is the Trailblazer Bursary for Indian students still open at Niagara College Canada?
Ans. The last confirmed cycle covered Fall 2025 and Winter 2026 intakes and closed on 10 June 2025 IST for study permit proof submission. A 2026-27 refresh is tentative and will be published by Niagara College International. The bursary auto-applies at C$1,500 (INR 1.03 Lakhs) once per lifetime for Indian and Nepali nationals.
Ques. Does the Degree Bursary cover living costs in Niagara-on-the-Lake?
Ans. Partly. C$2,500 (INR 1.71 Lakhs) per term offsets around 30% of a term’s living expenses in Niagara-on-the-Lake. Average monthly living costs sit at C$1,500 to C$1,800 (INR 1.03 to 1.23 Lakhs) covering shared accommodation, food, transport and mobile.

- The campus size is relevantly smaller than expected.
I went to Tc global. But I do not recommend it at all. As they charged very hefty fees. However, the quality of services provided by them was not at par. Also, the ielts coaching was of no use because I didn't feel lik attending it after one day.

- The course they offer are only specific to them and they compliment the teaching culture.
