Mount Saint Vincent University or MSVU invites applications for Fall and Winter sessions. Apart from these full-time program sessions, the university also conducts short-term programs in Summer. International applicants are invited to apply for all the three sessions.

MSVU believes that each student’s learning and understanding abilities are different. Therefore, the class size of each program at the university is small and limited. MSVU’s student to faculty ratio is recorded to be 20:1.

International applicants are advised to apply by June 21 for UG programs beginning in September. However, the admission deadline for the graduate program varies from course-to-course.

At MSVU, international applicants have to meet the specific admission requirements of chosen UG and PG programs. Since the medium of instruction here is English, international applicants are asked to demonstrate proficiency in English.

Conditional Admissions

Every year, MSVU receives several applications where applicants meet all the academic requirements but, fail to meet the English proficiency requirements. To these applicants, the university may offer conditional admission. Depending on their scores, applicants are required to join the Mount Bridging Program for a university level course or full-time English study.

Visa Requirements for International Students

Mount Saint Vincent University will provide admitted applicants with the official acceptance letter. Once international applicants receive this letter, they are suggested to start their student visa process. Applicants must note that to study in Canada, they will require both a study permit and a temporary residence visa.

Requirements for a study permit are as follows:

  • A valid passport
  • Application fee ( billed in CND)
  • Evidence of sufficient funds
  • Medical examination
  • Biometrics

Temporary Visa Permit: This visa can be both single and multiple entries. The requirements for a temporary residence visa are as follows:

As soon as the applications are received, MSVU’s admission office ensures that all the required documents are submitted. After this confirmation, complete files are forwarded to the respective department. All the applications are reviewed by the department officials. The admission decisions are also released by them. However, applicants will receive an official mail from MSVU, informing them of the decision on their application.
