Undergraduate applicants can alternatively apply via OUAC 105 (fee C$156 / ₹10,754); the university names OUAC 105 as an accepted route, but confirm the current cycle-open date on the OUAC website before you file. Postgraduate applicants use the TMU International Application only.

Note: TMU says on its own dates page that programs can close before published deadlines when spaces fill. File a complete Fall 2027 application by the December priority date for Engineering or Creative School programs even though the general January date sounds later.

Toronto Metropolitan University offers four-year bachelor’s degrees across seven faculties, with Ted Rogers School of Management (Business), the Faculty of Engineering and Architectural Science, the Faculty of Science and The Creative School drawing most Indian applicants. 1. Confirm your program is open on the international program status page, then start your file on the TMU International Application portal. Pay the application fee of C$150 (₹10,341) on submission.
2. Undergraduate applicants using OUAC 105 pay C$156 (₹10,754) instead - this is the OUAC platform fee, and TMU does not charge a separate fee on top.
3. Receive email acknowledgement plus login credentials for the ChooseTMU Applicant Portal within a few business days.
4. Upload documents in the ChooseTMU portal: certified transcripts, English proficiency score, SOP or statement of interest, LORs, financial documents, passport bio page.
5. Complete any program-specific pieces (portfolio, audition, video interview via Kira Talent for MBA, essays for Journalism).

Canada Student Visa Process for Toronto Metropolitan University

Indian students admitted to Toronto Metropolitan University need a Canadian Study Permit issued by Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC). Apply once you hold the Letter of Acceptance from TMU and the Provincial Attestation Letter (PAL) that TMU issues with the LOA. The Study Permit application fee is C$150 (₹10,341); biometrics add C$85 (₹5,860).

Indian applicants can use the standard Study Permit stream or the faster Student Direct Stream (SDS), which typically processes in around 20 calendar days for eligible files. SDS eligibility for Indian applicants includes: proof of a Guaranteed Investment Certificate (GIC) of C$20,635 (₹14.22 Lakhs), first-year tuition paid in full, IELTS Academic 6.0 in each band (or equivalent), and the LOA plus PAL from TMU. Standard-stream files without SDS can take 8 to 16 weeks depending on the visa office load. Submit biometrics at a VFS Canada centre in India within two weeks of applying. On arrival in Canada, register with TMU International Student Support and apply for a Social Insurance Number before starting any co-op or part-time work.

2026 update: Ontario requires a Provincial Attestation Letter (PAL) with every Study Permit application. TMU issues the PAL alongside the LOA to admitted international students within the institution’s federal cap allocation, so do not file the Study Permit without both documents in hand.
