Trinity Western University Admission 2027
Trinity Western University runs three intakes each year — September (primary), January and May — and admission requests are processed on a rolling basis rather than through fixed cut-offs. TWU treats September as the primary intake for Indian applicants because Study Permit timelines align best.
| Milestone | Date | Notes for Indian Applicants |
|---|---|---|
| January 2027 UG recommended submission | 15 November 2026 | Rolling; allow 8 weeks for Study Permit |
| September 2027 UG priority date | Expected 1 May 2027 (based on prior cycle) | Earlier applicants get first pick of on-campus housing |
| MBA September 2027 international deadline | Expected 15 June 2027 (based on prior cycle) | Verify at official MBA page; multiple rounds accepted |
| WES or IQAS credential verification | Start 10 weeks before your deadline | WES turnaround averages 4 to 6 weeks for Indian transcripts |
| Programme start (Fall) | September 2027 | Orientation begins the week prior |
Planning note: TWU requires an original sealed transcript sent directly from your Indian university to the Registrar; students who upload only self-scans see offers held in conditional status until the sealed document arrives, often costing four to six weeks.

Trinity Western University Admission Requirements for Indian Applicants 2027
Trinity Western University sets one baseline academic requirement for Indian applicants at the undergraduate and graduate levels, layered with English proficiency scores tied to the medium of instruction of prior study.
PG Requirements at Trinity Western University
- Academic: Four-year bachelor’s degree with 65% or CGPA 6.5/10 (recommended); MBA expects 70% or CGPA 7.0/10 (recommended)
- English proficiency: IELTS 6.5 overall with no band below 6.0; TOEFL iBT 88 overall (or 4.5 on the 1-6 scale for post-January 2026 reports); PTE Academic 60; Duolingo 115 (verify at official international page)
- Credential verification: Sealed official transcript from Indian university direct to Registrar; WES or IQAS optional for most graduate programmes
- MBA specific: Minimum two years full-time work experience; GMAT or GRE waived when the academic record is strong
UG Requirements at Trinity Western University
- Academic: Class 12 with 65% aggregate (recommended); STEM programmes need 75% (recommended) with Maths or the relevant Science
- English proficiency: IELTS 6.5 overall or TOEFL iBT 88; PTE Academic 60; Duolingo 115 (verify at official page)
- Waiver route: English-medium Class 12 from CBSE, ICSE or state boards is accepted in lieu of an English test when the school provides a medium-of-instruction letter
Key insight: TWU is one of the few Canadian universities that accepts an English-medium letter from your Indian school in place of IELTS for undergraduate admission; this saves the CAD 265 IELTS fee and roughly three weeks of test scheduling.
Trinity Western University Acceptance Rate 2027
Trinity Western University does not publish an official admission acceptance rate, but the effective rate derived from enrolment reports sits at 58% to 68% (estimated) for international undergraduate applicants and slightly lower for the MBA cohort. TWU is best treated as a moderately selective private university rather than a hard-filter school.
As per third-party enrolment analysis, Indian applicants with above-average academics generally clear admission if they meet the English proficiency baseline. TWU emphasises fit with its Christian community values in the personal statement, and a weak essay can override strong grades.
Reality check: A 58% to 68% band means roughly two in three Indian applicants get an offer, but a further one in five decline because Study Permit or financial documentation is not ready by the intake date; plan the timeline as tightly as the grades.

Trinity Western University Rankings 2027
As per Maclean’s Canadian University Rankings 2025, Trinity Western University holds #14 in the Primarily Undergraduate category and has stayed within the top-15 for five consecutive years; TWU does not appear in QS World or THE World rankings, which is typical for its size and private profile.
| Ranking Body | Latest Edition | Previous Edition | Two Editions Back |
|---|---|---|---|
| QS World | 2027: Not ranked | 2026: Not ranked | 2025: Not ranked |
| THE World | 2026: Not ranked | 2025: Not ranked | 2024: Not ranked |

[Source: Maclean’s Canadian University Rankings; QS; THE; US News]
Key insight: TWU’s absence from QS and THE is normal for its size and category; for Study Permit and Post-Graduation Work Permit eligibility, only Designated Learning Institution status matters and TWU is a DLI, so an Indian applicant loses nothing on the visa or PGWP path.

- Median UG starting salary: CAD 52,000 to 62,000 (INR 35.58 to 42.42 lakh) — market median

Insider note: MBA graduates at TWU report the strongest Indian-alumni network in Vancouver’s healthcare admin and tech operations roles; the university’s small size lets Career Services broker one-to-one recruiter meetings that larger Canadian schools rarely match.
Trinity Western University vs Peer Universities
Peer benchmarking compares Trinity Western University against private and mid-sized British Columbia universities on annual PG fees and market rank, giving Indian applicants a like-for-like view.
| University | QS World 2027 | Avg Annual PG Fee (CAD / INR lakh) | Differentiator |
|---|---|---|---|
| Trinity Western University | Not ranked | CAD 22,000 / 15.05 lakh | Small class size with 17-month MBA |
| Simon Fraser University | #334 | CAD 28,500 / 19.50 lakh | Larger research portfolio in BC |
| University of Victoria | #369 | CAD 24,800 / 16.97 lakh | Strong law and marine programmes |
| Kwantlen Polytechnic University | Not ranked | CAD 21,500 / 14.71 lakh | Applied focus, career-first BBA |
| University of the Fraser Valley | Not ranked | CAD 20,200 / 13.82 lakh | Local BC public option |
Trinity Western University stands out for the 17-month MBA that is the fastest route to a Canadian graduate credential in British Columbia, and a 15:1 student-faculty ratio that outperforms the BC public benchmark of 22:1 as per Maclean’s 2025 data.
Trinity Western University suits Indian students seeking a small-cohort private Canadian degree at a CAD 30 to 36 lakh total annual outlay against a Vancouver graduate median well above INR 44 lakh. The compact MBA and MSc pathways deliver Canadian credentials while preserving eligibility for the nursing universities in Canada post-study work track.
TWU is not the fit for applicants chasing a large research-intensive campus, deep STEM PhD programmes, or a purely secular environment; those students should consider realistic alternatives such as SFU Beedie or the University of British Columbia’s Sauder School.
Trinity Western University FAQs
Ques. Can Indian students work part-time while studying at Trinity Western University?
Ans. Yes, the Study Permit issued to full-time TWU students allows up to 24 hours of off-campus work per week during academic sessions and full-time hours during scheduled breaks. On-campus work carries no hour cap. Indian students commonly pick up teaching-assistant, library or dining-hall roles that pay CAD 17 to CAD 22 per hour, enough to cover monthly grocery and transit costs.
Ques. How does the IELTS waiver work for TWU undergraduate applicants?
Ans. Indian applicants who studied in an English-medium school for four full years can request an IELTS waiver by submitting a medium-of-instruction letter from the Principal on school letterhead. TWU accepts letters from CBSE, ICSE and most state boards. The letter must confirm English as the sole medium of instruction. Waivers are decided within two weeks and remove the CAD 265 test cost from your application plan.
Ques. Does Trinity Western University require GMAT for the MBA programme?
Ans. TWU waives GMAT or GRE for MBA applicants who show a strong bachelor’s academic record, typically CGPA 7.0/10 or above, plus at least two years of full-time work experience. Applicants below that academic threshold are asked to submit GMAT 550 or GRE 300 as a supporting score. The waiver decision is confirmed after the admissions interview and application review.
Ques. What is the TWU application fee and are waivers available?
Ans. The undergraduate application fee is CAD 150 (INR 10,263) and the MBA application fee is CAD 175 (INR 11,974). Fee waivers are offered through partner counsellors in India, at select university fairs and for referrals from current TWU international students. Payment is by Visa, Mastercard or Flywire from Indian bank accounts, and the fee is non-refundable regardless of admission outcome.
Ques. Which Indian banks recognise Trinity Western University for education loans?
Ans. SBI, HDFC Credila, Axis Bank, ICICI Bank and Avanse all list TWU as an approved Canadian university for education loans up to INR 1.5 crore for graduate programmes and INR 40 lakh for undergraduate. Collateral-free limits typically cap at INR 40 lakh with SBI and INR 60 lakh with HDFC Credila. The Study Permit-linked offer letter from TWU is the primary loan-sanction document required.
Ques. How does the conditional offer process work at TWU for Indian applicants?
Ans. Trinity Western University issues a conditional offer when your final Class 12 or bachelor’s marksheet is pending, or when the English test is not yet booked. The condition is cleared once the pending document arrives at the Registrar’s office. Conditional offers are valid for the intake stated and can support a Study Permit application while you complete the outstanding requirement.
Ques. Can dependents accompany an Indian student to Trinity Western University?
Ans. Yes. Spouses of TWU graduate-level students qualify for an open-work Spousal Work Permit that allows full-time employment anywhere in Canada during the study period. Dependent children under 18 qualify for a Study Permit at Langley public schools without additional tuition. Financial proof of CAD 4,000 per year per dependent must be added to the Study Permit financial-support documentation.
Ques. What is TWU’s refund policy if my Study Permit is refused?
Ans. Trinity Western University refunds the CAD 9,990 international tuition deposit minus a CAD 500 administrative charge when your Study Permit is refused and the refusal letter is submitted within 30 days of the intake start date. The application fee itself is not refundable. Refunds process in six to eight weeks and can be returned to the original Indian bank account or held for a deferred intake.

- Nothing is as such that I really dislike about the institution
- There can be better certifications provided for the conferences and events.
Overview
Trinity Western University is one of the best universities I've come across in my educational background, the course design is classic and the knowledge imparted is of practical use in our life. Professors are well qualified and really go beyond the expectations for education. They really want to create and leave a better impact after every class.
Campus Life
Trinity Western University is very well known for its Student Association. TWUGSA which organizes multicultural events, the library is awesome and the sports club known as TWU Spartans has a different world in itself.

- Honestly, given the fact that my grades in Bachelors were not that impressive, I only hand a few institutions that I qualified for. I did not want to give GMAT at that time hence, I was looking for the Universities that offer you admission without GMAT and still are reputable. TWU was one of it and the MBA program specifically was very intriguing for me as I could not decide if I wanted to go into Marketing, HR, or some other field. Therefore, I chose to go ahead with MBA which is designed to give you an overall experience of all the business areas. Another deciding factor was the course fee. Now don't get me wrong, it still was really expensive, but if I actually compare the MBA programs of the University of British Columbia or University of Toronto, they cost almost twice of what Trinity was charging at that time.
- The most advantageous aspect of my institution is that it offers students a fairly flexible schedule. This isn't your typical Monday through Friday school week. Students are free to select or alter their own study schedule in accordance with their schedules.
- Additionally, each course consists of only 5–6 classes, so if a student enrols in one course per month, they would only need to attend 5-6 classes. During these classes, the instructor covers the material covered in the syllabus and may administer quizzes or exams as needed. However, not all professors carry out exams because some place greater emphasis on presentations and active participation in class.
Dislikes
- Although I believe TWU needs to improve in a few areas, there really isn't much to be dissatisfied about. To begin with, it is illogical to have a passing grade of only 70% for a course, as this causes students to constantly worry that they will fail and then have to pay an enormous cost to retake the course.
- Some students find a means to sneak around the system and complete their assignments by engaging with some entity that specializes in all of this since they are afraid of what can happen. The students are not gaining anything from this, hence it is all wrong. All they want to do is get through the course without failing. Students would likely comprehend the course better and the situation would undoubtedly change if the standard for passing marks was lowered.
Overview
Undoubtedly, it has been a wonderful experience. I gained a new perspective on the world as a whole throughout my time studying abroad among students of many cultures and ethnicities. In retrospect, the experiences I've had at this university have been invaluable. It is difficult to put into words, yet studying overseas offers unparalleled knowledge and insight. The nicest thing about attending a university is that, well, you think you go there to just study, but really, you learn a lot every day since these places exist to develop you as a better human being in addition to helping you educate. How you choose to take advantage of that chance will determine your level of success.
Campus Life
TWU has countless clubs to join. Although I am not well versed with them as I was mainly focused on my classes. The campus life is extremely fun and adventurous. TWU has many apartment buildings for housing for both male and female students. TWU also has their own basketball/soccer team, where they compete with different Universities on a national level.

- This university was offering this order in a less fees as comparison to other universities. Apart from this I found this university very helpful and the course is quite useful. The university offers this course in around 28k CAD for whole course.
Overview
At Trinity Western University it is super enjoyable to study here. TWU offers lot of good resources for their students. Professors are very well experienced and all are subject matter experts. Apart from this the university also organises the events on the regular intervals of time. University provided me the on campus accommodation and also offered the meal plan. The gymnastics is also a plus point and is free for all students.
Campus Life
TWU offers a lot of extra activities and have a lot of clubs which always organise events to help the overall development and networking in between the students and university community. Trinity Western University Graduate Student Association organises trips for grad students on the subsidised amount and offers free food and coffee on daily basis with a collegium to hang in.

- I always wished to pursue a Master's degree in Canada. There are so many Universities in Canada that offers a Master's program but there are just a few which accept admissions with 15 years of studies (12 + 3 years Bachelor's). Majority of the Universities have a minimum requirement of 16 years of education to be eligible to pursue a Master's degree.
- My university gave me the opportunity to pursue the program I desired with my 15 years of education. The teachers here are well-trained professionals and the environment is peaceful. We can even take one on one courses with our choice of instructor, that way we can explore our interests more. I had choices in other provinces too but the weather in British Columbia is the best in overall Canada so studying here was the best choice.
Overview
I have had a very pleasant experience at my University. Even though the studies are tough then in India, the faculty is very helpful and even the other students are very friendly with me. The staff has always helped me get through any situation. The grading system is also very fair and unbiased. The campus is very peaceful. The free printing helps me with managing my assignments budget. The only issue is that the bus facilities are very poor in the city where my University is located.
Campus Life
We have a very huge campus at Langley. We have a gym, library, students center, music room, prayer room, cafe, fireplace area, etc. There are so many events going on at the campus almost every alternate week which they update on the website or their social media handles. There is free wifi on the campus. Students are even sent off campus for research purposes. There is end number of extracurricular activities going on on-campus and students can participate in them as per their interests.
