Language Requirements for International Students

The minimum scores required to apply for UG admission are given below -

The Faculty of Graduate Studies has a minimum academic standard for admission. Departments may have higher standards and additional criteria, so you are advised to contact the unit to which you are applying.

Study Visa Requirements for International Students

After being admitted to the university, the applicant would require to apply for a student permit. To apply for a permit the applicant would need to show the following documents -

  • Acceptance letter from the university
  • A valid passport or travel document
  • Proof of financial resources to study in Canada.
  • After this, the applicant would need to apply online for permit.
  • In the end, the Canada embassy will process the application and an applicant has to schedule an interview with embassy in order to obtain permit.

University of Manitoba Undergraduate Admission Requirements

The university offers UG courses in the field of Economics, Art, International Business, Marketing, Engineering, Music, Biochemistry and Religion. To apply for admission, the applicant has to fulfil the general as well as program-specific requirements -

  • An admission decision is based on high school GPA only. Applicants are required to have a minimum high school grade in the range of 70 – 85% with no less than 60% in each course mandatory for the program applied for.
  • Each program has different core subject completion requirement for admission.
  • Unofficial transcripts (translated in English)
  • Proof of citizenship or Permanent Residence status

Note - Provisional offer of admission may be made based on interim/ predicted grades. However, all admission offers are subject to a review of final grades (due between May to July).

The University of Manitoba offers a diverse range of PG courses in the field of Animal Science, Chemistry, Economics, Economics, Genetic Counselling, Geography, History and Law.

Admission to the graduate college has the following minimum requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent program from college/ university.
  • Achieved a GPA of at least 3.0 in the applicant’s last 60 credit hours or last full two years of study.

Program wise requirements -

  • Transcripts from all recognized, post-secondary institutions attended (whether a degree has been awarded or not).
    • Applicants are advised to upload copies of unofficial transcripts for initial assessment purpose.
    • Official transcripts are to be sent directly to the Faculty of Graduate Studies once the application is accepted.
