Ques. Which is better for a B. tech, DAVIET Jalandhar or CGC Landran?

Ans. Both colleges have a good reputation but which is a better option that depends upon a number of factors. CGC Landran is ranked in 210-250 band by NIRF 2020 whereas DAVIET is ranked 100 by India Today. Given below is a brief overview of the two colleges. Parameters CGC Landran DAVIET Approved by AICTE, PCI, NCTE UGC, AICTE, NAAC ‘A’ grade Courses offered BTech, BBA, MBA, BSc, BCA, Bcom, MCA BTech, BCA, BHMCT, MBA, BBA, Bcom, BTTM Entrance exam accepted JEE Mains, GATE, PTU CET, CAT JEE Mains, GATE, CMAT Average CTC 7.08 LPA 3.5 LPA DAVIET fee structure is lower than CGC Landran. DAVIET has an average annual fee of Rs. 70,000 whereas CGC Landran has an average annual fee of Rs.96,000. Scholarships: CGC Landran offers merit scholarships, merit-means scholarships, scholarships for differently-abled students, etc. DAVIET offers Post Matric Scholarships to eligible candidates from the reserved category as per the Punjab Govt/IKG PTU norm. Placement: CGC Landran has better placement (almost 100%) in IT/CSE department as compared to DAVIET Jalandhar and for core streams like Mechanical, Electrical etc both are equally good. On the other hand, DAVIET has a lower placement percentage but has a higher average salary as DAVIET does not allow mass recruiters which offer less than 3 LPA packages. Every year top companies like Samsung, IBM, Microsoft, Dell etc visit both the campuses. In terms of placement percentage, CGC Landran has led with 100% placement compared to DAVIET Jalandhar which has 85% placement. The average package of both the colleges is the same 3.5 LPA. The highest package of CGC Landran is 35 LPA whereas the highest package of DAVIET Jalandhar is only 10 LPA. As CGC is a group of institutions, it has advantages over the highest package data. So, the choice of college purely depends on one’s priority. Placement wise CGC Landran has an edge over DAVIET but if you consider fee structure and campus location or exposure then DAVIET is better. DAVIET is located in Jalandhar city and hence has location advantage and better connectivity than CGC Landran. Academically both are equally good colleges and their average placement is similar. DAVIET has comparatively a smaller number of placements but quality placements and CGC has more placements from mass recruiters.Read more

Ques. Which is the best college for pursuing a CSE between PSIT Kanpur and GLA University Mathura?

Ans. GLA University Mathura is much better than that of PSIT Kanpur. Additionally, GLA faculty members have better training and expertise in their particular disciplines. Additionally, GLA has better lab and other facilities. Some detailed features of GLA university that distinguishes it from PSIT Kanpur are as follows: Courses offered: A total of 93 courses are offered at the university. GLA University courses are offered across the diploma, UG, PG and doctoral courses. In different specialisation in Arts, Commerce, Science as well as engineering. Ranking and Accreditation: According to IIRF report 2023 it ranked 8 among top institution in India in overall category. It has been accredited by NAAC with A+ grade. Placement: In this year the highest package offered was INR 55 LPA in engineering and 19.8LPA in management. The average package offered is INR 6.3 LPA. 500 recruiters took part in the placement campaign. Accenture, Deloitte, Aon, TCS, Cognizant, Capgemini etc are some of GLA University Mathura’s top employers. Alumni: Kamlendra Tripathi (Scientist - India Space Research Organisation). Ques. Which college should I choose, PSIT Kanpur or IMS Ghaziabad for a B.Tech through CS?

Ans. In my opinion, IMS Ghaziabad is a much better option than PSIT Kanpur mainly because of its NCR location. When choosing a college, a factor of utmost importance is where the college is situated because your location will impact your college life largely. Opting for a college situated in NCR is a boon as it will give you a lot of exposure to activities and education in general. You get more exposure to industries and startups and thus getting internships is a lot easier. One more advantage is that you can avail many good coaching facilities in the NCR location which may not be possible in a city like Kanpur.  The campus life is less strict at IMS Ghaziabad than at PSIT and there are no strict attendance rules. The fees and value of a degree are almost similar in both colleges but you can enjoy your life much better at NCR colleges. I am strongly against you joining PSIT Kanpur because Not a good location Unnecessary struck rules related to attendance  You have to be stuck 9-5 completing unnecessary assignments which have no real importance  Not a good college to enjoy life and hang out No coding culture in PSIT  Despite it all, PSIT Kanpur has a 100% placement percentage and will help you get places in CS. Ans. If you have a GATE Scorecard, you will be able to secure a place on the PSIT for mechanical engineering. This is because of the availability of the one Interview Round. But try applying online or calling them for any opening if you are a graduate. They will inform you and organize an interview if they find you relevant. Whether you will be appointed as a faculty or laboratory assistant according to your qualification. You will continue to work for approximately 2 years as Lab Assistant. In terms of actual placement at the campus, top recruitment firms like Infosys, Capgemini, TCS, Tech Mahindra, and Wipro visit the campus. Students are given leading jobs such as assistant system engineer, software developer, and business analyst. The top salary package provided is 26 LPA and the lowest pay package is 3 LPA. The average package available is 3.6 LPA. In order to better understand the concept, PSIT offers E-classrooms, laboratories, workshops, and training. It focuses not only on teaching academic information but also on implementing it in practice, and hence their practicals are given some importance compared to lectures.Read more

Ans. Mechanical engineering is not good in PSIT Kanpur. You will regret your decision of taking admission there. Following are the reasons why you should not join PSIT Kanpur PSIT Kanpur has very strict rules and regulations and parents have to pay a fine for everything. 90% attendance is compulsory, CCTV cameras are installed inside all the classrooms.  You cannot even sit and study in the library if you have some boring lectures going on.  You will not gain any knowledge even after spending 4 precious years. PSIT Kanpur lacks a competitive environment for GATE, CAT, etc. If a student wishes to prepare for any competition exam, the college rules are so strict that there will be no time left for your preparation Here’s presenting some facts about Mechanical Engineering at PSIT Kanpur - Categories Mechanical Engineering at PSIT Kanpur Course Fee 5.60 lakh Placement Percentage 80-85% Highest CTC 8-10 LPA Average CTC 3.7-4 LPA Recruiting Companies TCS, Infosys, Wipro. One of my friends qualified GATE with a respectable score that will lead him to do masters from IIT Bombay but believe me PSIT has no role in this. I even believe that if he would have done B.Tech from any other college then he would have got a better score in my final year. Therefore whoever is planning to take admission in PSIT.
