Ans. For ICT, Ahmedabad University is the better choice. It is an old reputed university. The faculty base for ICT is better there. Along with delivering quality academics, it offers decent placement opportunities. In the recent campus drive, the highest and average CTC offered was 15 LPA and 4 LPA.  One of the perks of joining AU is that you will get to choose any course from any faculty with your core courses, be it Management, Commerce, Arts, Life Science, etc. Read more

Ans. PDPU is a good option for pursuing ICT. The course curriculum is designed beautifully. The course structure is such that students get to learn from other resources as well. ICT bridges the gap between CE and ECE. The course outcome is pretty good in the field of technology. The faculties of the department are helpful and cooperative. PDPU placement highlights show the average and highest CTC to be INR 6.09 LPA and INR 25 LPA respectively. Read more

Ques. How are placements in PDPU and what is the average placement salary for petroleum engineering?

Ans. Placements at PDPU are really good, as a lot of reputed companies take part in their placement program. They offer proper industrial exposure through internships and industry visits. Petroleum Engineering and Technology students usually receive the highest salary package compared to other branches. Once, ONGC had recruited around 15–20 Petroleum Engineers with a package of around 14–15 LPA. If you compare the average salary package, Petroleum engineers get a package of around 5–6 LPA. Categories Petroleum Engineering at PDPU Course Fee INR 9.73 lakh Placement Percentage 80% Highest CTC 16 LPA Average CTC 8 LPA Recruiting Companies ONGC, Schlumberger, Shell, Reliance, etc. If you have good knowledge and fluent communication skills, combined with a perfect academic performance then you will definitely get placed in one of the reputed companies with appropriate salary packages.Read more

Ans. One of my friends chose PDPU over Nirma University for a B.Tech. Some of the reasons as to why he chose it are as follows, He was particularly interested in pursuing CSE but because of a slightly lower rank in the ACPC, he was not eligible for the CS branch in Nirma University. The pattern Nirma University follows is like a school pattern. To add to that, there are a lot of restrictions that the institute commonly follows. For example, YouTube and similar websites are banned on the premise. The major downside is that you can avail of no hostel accommodation. As my friend also mentioned, he chose PDPU over Nirma University because the clubs in the institute are not highly functional as well. You might require needing to plan out extremely well only to conduct a small event. Other reasons why you should choose PDPU, You can receive good and in fact, high placements. You will have access to receiving good job offers that are particularly high paying. The introduction of a high fee structure usually means that the institute has something crucial either in the Resources or in the Infrastructure. Mainly, your study pattern is commonly associated with the resource and atmosphere of the institute, and not entirely upon the professor. You will have senior guidance. Ques. How is mechanical engineering of PDPU compared to the mechanical engineering of Nirma?

Ans. According to the reviews online and talking to some of my friends, I got to know that both the colleges are really good. Both the colleges have lively atmosphere and culture and also, the faculties are really good and give great placements. You won’t regret joining either of two. Though life in Nirma is a bit tougher and more suffocating than PDPU. But, the Mechanical Engineering department in both the colleges are amazing. But yes, it is much better in Nirma as far as course curriculum and studies are concerned. Placements are good in both colleges. Top companies such as Reliance and Adani Power come to PDPU for recruitment and in Nirma companies such as Cognizant, Evosys, ZS Associates, Reliance participates. So overall if you are getting mechanical at Nirma then go for it. Categories Mechanical at PDPU Mechanical at Nirma University Course Fee 9.73 lakh 7.24 lakh Highest CTC 19 LPA 20 LPA Average CTC 16 LPA 12 LPA Also, from overall view I think you should opt for Nirma. But don’t rush into your decision, think as much as you want and choose the best for you. The decision is all yours at last.Read more
