Ans.  you can pursue Bachelor in Architecture even after completing a diploma in Civil Engineering. The scope for Architecture is increasing day by day in India. The Bachelor in Architecture course is related to the design of bridges, multipurpose buildings, industrial areas, residential area etc. Owing to many ongoing dam and bridge projects in India, there is a huge demand for Architecture students. Since you have completed a Diploma in Civil Engineering, B.Tech in Architecture is the most logical option for you. The candidate who has completed a diploma in civil engineering is eligible for the architecture engineering course through the lateral entry scheme offered by the Engineering colleges in India. Under this scheme, you are eligible for admission for the second year in the Engineering course provided that you have either completed  Diploma In Engineering  B.Sc course For you it’s the former case, and thus you can avail the lateral entry scheme and get admission in Architecture. Ans. None. These are technical institutes, and architecture is a completely different field. None of the NITs or IITs are recognized in this area. If you genuinely want to pursue architecture at a reputable institute, consider the following options: SPA CEPT Other good state-level institutes (for example, in Mumbai, some of the top ones are: Sir JJCoA, KRVIAE, Rachna Sansad, etc.; in Chandigarh, you have CCoA; every state or city should have at least one good architecture institute).Read more

Ques. Which one should I opt for NIT Trichy B.Arch or NIT Calicut B.Arch

Ans. I am not much sure about NIT Trichy’s Arch department. However, I can guarantee that you won’t regret studying B.Arch in NIT Calicut. With Trichy, the cons are its location and weather. But with Calicut, the weather is very good. Second, Calicut's Arch department building is just wow! Plus, the faculty is good there. So you can opt based on your preference.Read more

Ques. Which college should one take up for architecture, BIT Mesra or NIT, Trichy and why?

Ans. My uncle is a successful architect and has the experience of employing many architects. He shared his experience stating that architecture students of both BIT Mesra and NIT Trichy are Unfortunately both the institutions are engineering colleges where architecture is considered equal because both are engineering colleges with Architecture as just one of the many specializations offered by the institute. None of these institutes are specialized in this field so the students study in a more engineering-oriented ambiance. They lack the ability to think independently of constraints imposed by engineering abilities available in India. I recommend you pursue Architecture from an institution that has Architecture as its flagship course like CEPT or SPA. Nevertheless, comparing Architecture from BIT Mesra and NIT Trichy, I will say the former has a better crowd and opportunities than the latter. Both are somewhat at similar levels and it's hard to make a direct comparison. It's that students from BITS Mesra are better exposed so they make better Architects than NIT Trichy students.Read more
