Acharya Shri Chander College of Medical Sciences and Hospital was established in 1996. The College has been accorded Hindu Minority Institution Status by the Jammu & Kashmir State Government. The college has three departments of medicine. These departments are manned by the highly qualified team of doctors drawn from different parts of the State and the Country. At present, there are 108 Specialists working in different departments assisted by about 100 Senior and Junior Resident Doctors and Tutors. The College offers MBBS, MD and MS courses.

As of now, applications for 2026 admission at Acharya Shri Chander College of Medical Sciences, Jammu (for MBBS/UG programmes) are not open, since the previous application window ran from 18 July to 16 October 2025 with NEET-based selection. Prospective students must wait for NEET UG 2026 results and counselling to begin before new admissions open.
