Question 1

Which dates should I be aware of while taking admission in Al Shifa College of Nursing?

Accepted Answer

For B.Sc and Post Basic B.Sc Nursing, watch the May 2026 notification, the May to June 2026 application window, and the July 2026 allotment. For M.Sc Nursing, the KUHS notification comes around April 2026, applications run April to May 2026, and the entrance and allotment happen in June 2026. Reporting and fee payment usually fall in July and August 2026.

Question 2

Is admission to Al Shifa College of Nursing tough to crack?

Accepted Answer

Admission is not based on a hard private entrance test. Undergraduate seats depend on Plus Two marks in Physics, Chemistry, and Biology, and M.Sc seats depend on the KUHS PG Nursing entrance. Competition is moderate, and a solid qualifying score with correct documents gives a strong chance, especially for management quota seats.

Question 3

Does Al Shifa College of Nursing accept management quota admissions?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Both government quota merit seats and management quota seats are available across B.Sc, Post Basic B.Sc, and M.Sc Nursing. Management quota seats are filled directly by the college within the KUHS approved framework, so applicants should contact the admissions office for the current process.

Question 4

What is one thing I should know before taking admission in Al Shifa College of Nursing?

Accepted Answer

Keep your documents ready early. For M.Sc Nursing you will need B.Sc Nursing mark sheets and a valid KNMC or state council registration. For undergraduate seats you need Plus Two mark sheets and a category certificate if applicable. Missing documents at reporting is the most common reason for delays.

Question 5

Do I need an entrance exam for B.Sc Nursing at Al Shifa College of Nursing?

Accepted Answer

B.Sc Nursing admission is based on qualifying Plus Two marks in Physics, Chemistry, and Biology through the KUHS and DME Kerala centralised counselling. You do not sit a separate college entrance test, but you must apply within the official window and add the college in your preference list.

Question 6

What experience helps for M.Sc Nursing admission here?

Accepted Answer

A minimum of one year of clinical nursing experience after B.Sc Nursing is preferred for M.Sc Nursing. While the main selection is through the KUHS PG Nursing entrance and allotment, relevant clinical experience strengthens your overall profile and prepares you for the specialisation training.

Question 7

Are scholarships available at Al Shifa College of Nursing?

Accepted Answer

Scholarship and fee concession schemes may apply for eligible SC, ST, OBC, minority community, and economically weaker section students. These can reduce the net fee across nursing programmes. Confirm the current schemes and required income or category proofs with the college admissions office.

Question 8

How are seats allotted across the four M.Sc Nursing specialisations?

Accepted Answer

All four specialisations, Child Health Nursing, Community Health Nursing, Medical Surgical Nursing, and Obstetrics and Gynaecology Nursing, are filled through the KUHS centralised PG Nursing allotment. You list your specialisation and college preferences, and seats are allotted based on the entrance performance and your preference order.

Question 9

Can final year students apply before results are out?

Accepted Answer

For postgraduate nursing, you usually need a completed B.Sc Nursing degree and valid council registration at the time of joining. Undergraduate applicants should have their Plus Two results ready for the merit list. Always confirm provisional application rules with the college before the deadline.
