Ques. In overall placements, is Netaji Subhash Engineering College, Kolkata better than Asansol Engineering College?

● Top Answer By Abhinav Shukla on 15 Apr 21

Ans. As per as selection of colleges is concerned, the institute which a candidate chooses doesn’t matter much because, at the end of the course, the most expected outcome is a placement. I know a few people from both the institutes, so I can give you an idea about these two. The table below gives a brief level of comparison between Netaji Subhas Engineering College, Kolkata, and Asansol Engineering College. Particulars Netaji Subhas Engineering College, Kolkata Asansol Engineering College Total Fees (B.Tech) Rs. 3.57 Lakhs Rs. 4.14 Lakhs Median Salary Offered Rs. 4.5 LPA Rs. 3.4 LPA Key Highlights: Considering the placement statistics and overall infrastructure of both the institutes, Computer Science and Engineering is the most proffered stream, followed by Electronics and Communication Engineering, which is quite good too. Other than that, other streams don’t have enough placements. Any reputed engineering college in West Bengal can be chosen if the main motive is placement. Ex- IEM, Techno Salt Lake, Heritage, KGEC, Haldia, AEC, KGEC, Netaji, etc as per the convenience of the student. Almost every student from CSE, ECE, and IT of these colleges end up in an IT company like TCS, CTS, or Infosys after 4 years of engineering, provided they fulfill the minimum 60% eligibility criteria. This is the overall outcome of being in an institute like Netaji Subhas or Asansol Engineering College, which is more or less the same.Read more

Ques. Is Asansol Engineering College best for engineering?

● Top Answer By Anindya Sengupta on 19 Feb 21

Ans. No, Asansol Engineering College is definitely not the best college but it is a better option among most of the colleges. If you were not able to perform in JEE Mains and you have an option to get into Asansol Engineering College, then it is not a bad deal.  Reasons Why Asansol is not Best but a decent option are given below.  Syllabus: The Engineering syllabus followed is as per the MAKAUT system. Therefore, the syllabus will not make you put in extra hours of studies to score in the semester exam. You can prepare for further exams like GATE, SSC, etc. along with the semester exams.  Infrastructure & Facilities: The college is equipped with all the labs, libraries, gymnasium, etc. making the overall infrastructure a better place to study. The lush green campus will make you feel comfortable and homely.  Faculty: Asansol Engineering College has some of the best faculties unlike any other private engineering of West Bengal. They will help you in every fold of your engineering journey. It doesn’t matter how silly your doubts may seem, the faculties will help you.  Fee: The biggest myth of self-funded colleges is that they have high fees. But you must note that the overall tuition fee of B.Tech at AEC is just 4.14 Lakhs.  Placements: The college has a very active placement cell. The placement record of AEC is good so far. The best placements are given to the students of the CS/IT branch. Many top companies like TCS, IBM conduct mass recruitments in the institute.  For the overall development of the student, Asansol Engineering College is the best place. If you are focused enough, you will definitely kickstart your career at this institute.Read more

Remarks :

The admission process in this college is candidates have to apply for WBJEE from its official website. Candidates appeared in the WBJEE exam and try to attempt a good rank in that exam. After that candidates have to enlist their choices in online counseling which held in 3 rounds. If your rank is eligible to take admission in this college then you can take admission after submitting the fees. This college is a private institution so if your rank is not good still you can take admission in this if seats are vacant.

Remarks :

First of all this college is pretty good in campus placement among all colleges around Asansol as well as Paschim Bardhaman, service based companies like TCS, Infosys come every year for placement. Campus area is also decent enough as well as there is a lot of cultural community in this college. Downsides are firstly big product based companies don't come here for on-campus placement, next is- most students come here mostly from either West Bengal, Bihar and Jharkhand so culture isn't as rich as a tire-1 or tire-2 college. Except them everything is there like library, separate hostels, canteen, playground, basketball court, and all other. Admission is proceed through both JEE(main) and WBJEE at the time of August-September (currently delayed for pandemic and lockdown situation). It's not too tough to get chance here with 30000 rank in WBJEE. This college is quite popular among Asansol. Also activities and initiatives are often get published by local newspapers, and magazines.

Remarks :

Asansol Engineering College is one of the best colleges in West Bengal. The Infrastructure is awesome and the placement percentage is about 85% and the average package is around 4 lakh/yr. Admission in this is done through 2 entrance exams : 1. Jee Mains ( 30% seats ) 2. Wbjee ( 60% Seats ) I prefer this college among other private colleges because of these points: 1. Fee of 4 years of BTech CSE is just 4,20,000 INR. 2. Placement percentage and average package are good compared to other private colleges. 3. Good Infrastructure among all colleges in West Bengal.

Remarks :

I came to know about this college after reviewing top colleges of West Bengal after qualifying WBJEE exam 2019, and it seemed to stand upon my choice of desired branch i.e. Computer Science and Engineering for pursuing B. Tech. Overall Campus Life is quite good but there's not so much interaction among seniors. Talking about Academics, few teachers does great in their jobs but some of them are just like to Suffer them or even more than that. When it comes to placements which is one of the most important topic of discussion in minds of a student to chose a college, then I would if you're Top 20 in 100 you can get a nice job. But you've to build yourself in a better like in communication, nice interaction with teachers and other officials. When it comes to Management of the college, I would like to give 2 out of 5 stars because as I'm a hosteler, I know more about the management; they are just like School officials not doing as a college does. Rest you can get more reviews to decide your further journey. Thanks _??_

"Asansol Engineering College - Best Campus with Facilities."

"Decent college with good culture and average placement"

First of all this college is pretty good in campus placement among all colleges around Asansol as well as Paschim Bardhaman, service based companies like TCS, Infosys come every year for placement. Campus area is also decent enough as well as there is a lot of cultural community in this college. Downsides are firstly big product based companies don't come here for on-campus placement, next is- most students come here mostly from either West Bengal, Bihar and Jharkhand so culture isn't as rich as a tire-1 or tire-2 college. Except them everything is there like library, separate hostels, canteen, playground, basketball court, and all other. Admission is proceed through both JEE(main) and WB
