ECIMT MCA FAQs

Ques. Is Mathematics compulsory for MCA admission at ECIMT Allahabad?

Ans. Yes, Mathematics is mandatory for MCA admission at ECIMT under AKTU norms. Candidates must have studied Mathematics either at the 10+2 level or at the graduation level. Students who did not have Mathematics at 10+2 can still qualify if their bachelor’s programme included Mathematics as a subject, such as BCA or B.Sc Computer Science with Mathematics.

Ques. What CUET-PG score is needed for ECIMT MCA through UPTAC counselling?

Ans. AKTU does not publish a fixed cutoff. The seat allotment depends on the CUET-PG rank, the number of applicants in a given year, and seat availability at ECIMT. Since ECIMT is a private AKTU-affiliated college, candidates with moderate CUET-PG scores generally have a reasonable chance of securing a seat, especially in later counselling rounds through UPTAC.

Ques. How does UPTAC MCA counselling work for AKTU private colleges?

Ans. UPTAC (Uttar Pradesh Technical Admissions Counselling) is managed at uptac.samarth.edu.in. Candidates register online, fill college preferences in order of priority, and a seat allotment is generated based on CUET-PG rank and seat availability. After accepting an allotment, candidates pay the seat confirmation fee and report to the allotted college. Multiple rounds are conducted to fill vacant seats.

Ques. What is the total fee for MCA at ECIMT and can it be paid in instalments?

Ans. The total fee for the 3-year MCA programme at ECIMT Allahabad is INR 1,83,600. Official instalment information is not separately published. Candidates should confirm the semester-wise payment schedule with the college’s accounts office at the time of admission. UP state-domicile students may also be eligible for fee waivers under government scholarship schemes.

Ques. Is the MCA degree from ECIMT valid for government and private sector jobs?

Ans. Yes. ECIMT is AICTE-approved and affiliated to AKTU, a recognised state technical university. An MCA degree from an AKTU-affiliated college is valid for government recruitment notifications (SSC, UP state PSC, banking IT roles) and is accepted by private sector employers. Candidates appearing for GATE after MCA should note that GATE accepts MCA graduates in select papers.

Ques. What are the career options after completing MCA from ECIMT?

Ans. MCA graduates from ECIMT can pursue roles in software development, system analysis, database administration, IT consulting, and web application development. Common employers for AKTU MCA graduates include IT services firms, government departments, banks, and software product companies. Graduates can also appear for GATE (CS paper) for M.Tech admissions or pursue higher education abroad.
