Gargi College Reviews on Placements, Faculty and Facilities

I think Gargi, coming under Delhi University, offers the same curriculum as in any other DU college. The teaching methods are great theoretically, and we are also moving forward towards practicality. But there is still a long way to go since we are only taught things through books when the reality of work is quite the opposite.

From Boston Consulting Group to Bain & Company many MNCs have started coming to our college. The newage Indian startups like Zomato and Flipkart are also coming for placements here and placements worth 7 lakhs on and average is what B.Com students get.

After the completion of 3 year you are eligible for the placement but I have no as such information about that cause I don't believe in the placement of college and I don't think they will be able to offer a good placement. My plans after getting degree is either I will do upsc or state pcs or I will continue doing my pg from economics and psychology.

3rd year students are eligible for placements. Companies usually hire from the commerce department but many hire students from arts disciplines as well. I think on an average, minimum 7 gpa would ve sufficient for securing good placements. Big 4 companies also visit and massively recruit each year.

My course is good but can be better in terms of teaching quality, professors can elaborate more clearly and make notes about the taught topic There are total 6 semesters in 3 year means 2 semester per year , every semester have exams , practical and internals

My course is ba program( hind + history) .Am a student from arts background i have so much interset in political science and history all through (social studies) . And i choose history as my major subject to grab history honor degree. By doing 4 year graduation

T&P cell invites us for the placements mostly in the last semester but some students are invited from the 7th semester itself. Banks have favoured our college and especially our stream as analyst roles are awarded to students of our course. From ICICI, American Express to Federal Bank, we have enough job assurity now than ever it was in Gargi college.

Since our professors are of banking backgrounds they have managed to bring in a lot of companies from the same sector. From domestic banks like the Indusind Bank and the Federal Bank, American Express too have made way to our college and B.Com studnets are their first choice. The placements percentage collectively of last three years stande at 40-50%.

Students are eligible to sit in placement in there 3rd(final year of graduation). We have a dedicated placement cell with top companies recruitments, like Deloite, EY etc. But for science background students it is a bit difficult to get placed, and even if they get any placement, their job is not related to their core subjects for example they get placement in tecahing, marketing, event management etc. But the package is same for them. You can get upto 11LPA package. And the minimum is 3-4 LPA. There are alot of offers hence mostly students get placed in commerce and arts departments, but science students opt for higher studies i.e. masters and phD

Placement is good .as far as my knowledge average placement is 5lakh and many big company recruitment happend in our college. Also enactus and many bussiness trips and meeting erre conducted. I am planning to purse govt service .
