IET Lucknow M.Tech Important Dates

Institute of Engineering & Technology (IET), Lucknow offers a full-time M.Tech program for the duration of 2 years in the field of Engineering. The course is offered in a total of 35 disciplines.

• The minimum requirement to apply for the M.Tech Program at IET Lucknow is a Bachelor’s Degree.
• Selection of the candidates is based on GATE/GPAT/CEED/UPSEE score or entrance test conducted by AKTU.

IET Lucknow M.Tech Eligibility Criteria

Candidates who wish to seek admission for M.Tech program of IET Lucknow shall fulfill the following eligibility criteria:

• Must have passed the Bachelor’s Degree with a minimum of 50% aggregate marks or equivalent CGPA

The selection criteria for Admissions to the M. Tech programs of the university are based on GATE/GPAT/CEED/UPSEE score or Domain Knowledge Test/ entrance test conducted by Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam Technical University (AKTU).

• Candidates seeking admission to IET M.Tech program shall appear in the domain knowledge test.
• Candidates who have qualified GATE/ GPAT/CEED and have valid score cards need not appear in the written test (Domain Knowledge Test). They can directly appear in the counselling process for admission.
• AKTU will release the merit list of shortlisted candidates through entrance tests and candidates will be invited for the seat allotment counselling process.
• IET Lucknow will notify the counselling schedule on its official website @ietlucknow.ac.in.
• Candidates are required to select their desired course and register for the counselling process.
• The institute will process the desired preferences. Seats will be allotted based on their merit rank, availability, and choices filled by the candidates.
• Candidates satisfied with their allotments are required to confirm their seats by submitting the admission fees and will have to verify the necessary documents.
• First preference will be given to GATE qualified candidates having valid GATE score in respective discipline.
• Second preference will be to UPSEE-2020 qualified candidates and the third preference will be based on written test merit.

• Candidates shall register themselves by providing a phone number, email-id, user id, and password. Students shall remember their username and password for further purposes.
• Fill in all the application forms with utmost care; Candidates are also required to submit the application form fee online through online payment method.
• An incomplete application form in any respect will be liable to be rejected and the fees submitted will not be refundable.

IET Lucknow M.Tech Course Details

IET Lucknow offers a full-time M.Tech program in the field of Engineering. Tabulated below are the specializations offered in M.Tech program of IET Lucknow:

Course Duration: The minimum duration required for the completion of M. Tech Course is 2 years having 4 semesters. The maximum duration can extend upto 8 semesters,

Prescribed Coursework: M. Tech Program’s Curriculum consists of 4 components:

• Elective Courses
• Lab Courses
• Seminars
• Dissertation
• Final Dissertation

The first two semesters of M.Tech have elective courses, Laboratory courses. In the 2nd semester, the M.Tech student has to present a Seminar as well. The 3rd and 4th semesters will include Seminar-II, Open Dissertation, and Dissertation (final) respectively.

Each elective courses are of 3 Credits, Laboratory courses are of 2 or 1 Credits while the final dissertation is of 18 Credits.

Tabulated below is the course structure of M. Tech program offered at IET Lucknow:

• M.Tech students are needed to score a minimum of 600 marks or 18 credits each semester
• Students shall fulfill the attendance requirements prescribed in the curriculum i.e. minimum 75% attendance in each course.

Elective Courses: M.Tech students shall choose 4 to 5 elective courses as prescribed in the syllabus each semester. The assessment will be done by the respective faculty according to the course plan.

Dissertation: M. Tech students are required to compile a report including the title of the dissertation, literature review, methodology of work to be pursued and activity schedule in the 3rd Semester. The compiled report shall be presented at the end of the third semester.

Dissertation (final): Final Dissertation in 4th Semester will be the continuation of previous semester’s dissertation. He/she shall submit the complete version of dissertation at the end of fourth semester.

Award of Degree: Students will be awarded an M.Tech degree if they have passed all the final courses’ assessments with the minimum prescribed aggregate.
