KNIT Sultanpur: 25 Answered Questions

Which is better IT at IET or CSE at KNIT?

DebugDiode

When it comes to UPTU colleges, there's barely any difference between IT and CSE. Their courses and syllabus are pretty much the same, except maybe in the last semester. If job placements are your main concern, both branches offer similar opportunities as long as you put in the effort.

Since the branches are almost identical, the choice should be based on the college. IET has an advantage over KNIT in terms of location and infrastructure. For placements, IET is generally seen as slightly better, but KNIT isn't far behind either. You might want to check out some answers online for more insights about KNIT.

Although I don’t know much about IET, I can say that the seniors at KNIT Sultanpur are very supportive. They are always ready to help, even if they're busy, and they often hold language and competitive programming classes. If you're aiming for exams like GATE or CAT, KNIT Sultanpur provides a good environment for preparation.

In the end, both colleges can offer you a successful future, so choose whichever feels right for you. Good luck!

How is KNIT Sultanpur? Is it worth joining compared to top private UPTU colleges?

MemeMaestro

It's funny to see these comparisons, and I get why people are confused about this. Private colleges are really good at advertising this time of year, and some students from these colleges often talk up how amazing their school is. If by "top" private colleges you mean places like JSS or KIET, then those are usually the ones people are talking about. These schools are in better locations than Sultanpur, but is that the only thing you should think about? You should decide for yourself.

I've heard some folks say that AKTU government colleges have terrible placements because they're in out-of-the-way locations, which keeps companies from visiting. That's just not true. The overall placement situation at AKTU isn’t great, but government colleges still generally offer better placement quality and quantity compared to private ones. They don't advertise their placements much, and fewer students are eager to join companies like TCS or Infosys that offer starting salaries around 3.5 lpa.

JSS is still well-regarded among private colleges in AKTU. If you think government colleges under AKTU aren't worth it, then JSS is probably your best bet.

Is Mahindra Ecole Centrale university good?

AlphaAlpaca

I’m doing my Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) at Mahindra Ecole Centrale, and I find it pretty good. The curriculum is updated regularly to keep up with job requirements, and the focus on real-world applications is beneficial. The fees are around 3.5 lakhs per year, which is manageable, but the internship stipends could be better. The campus life is decent, with a couple of major fests and numerous clubs to join. So, I’d say it’s a good option if you’re looking for a BBA program.

How was your first day in class at KNIT Sultanpur?

RamRefrain

I'm from the 2012-16 batch, studying electrical engineering. Even though I'm in my final year now, I can still vividly recall my first day at KNIT. It was on August 20, 2012, when I stepped into the college and was amazed by the green campus. But things changed when I headed to the academic section; seniors caught up with me. On my way to the hostel, they told me to keep my eyes down and scolded me.

When I got to the hostel, room assignments began and were finished by 8:30 am. The hostel warden then told us to get ready for the college orientation by 11 am. We were all excited, but then around 11 am, a group of about 20 seniors came into the hostel, yelled at us, and laid down the rules: like wearing formals with shoes and a tie even outside class, and greeting everyone, including the sweepers and guards, with a good morning or evening.

After a long talk, they took us around to show the campus, labs, workshop, library, canteen, and bank. This orientation lasted two hours, and throughout, they ragged us and interacted with the newbies. Luckily, this phase ended after the fresher’s event, and the seniors became friendly. They helped us with studies, assignments, and even placements. There’s a lot of time here to learn new things and discover yourself. The classes are mostly just for show. Overall, my time at KNIT has been fantastic.

How is the IT branch at KNIT?

HexHarmony

I’m in the IT branch at KNIT, and overall, I find it a good choice. The curriculum is relevant and helps us tackle real-world problems, but the faculty could be more supportive. The placement opportunities are quite good; I’ve seen many seniors get placed at good companies like Infosys and Wipro. The average package is around 6-7 LPA, which is encouraging. However, I think there should be more emphasis on hands-on projects to really prepare us for the industry.

How good is KNIT Sultanpur?

DataDreamweaver

I am in the B.Tech Electrical Engineering course at KNIT Sultanpur, and I find the curriculum to be pretty standard, but it lacks the practical exposure needed to prepare us for real-world applications. The faculty is a mix; some are very helpful, while others seem less engaged.

The placement scenario is a bit disappointing for core branches, with an average package of around 4-5 LPA. Most of us end up preparing for GATE or similar exams instead of relying solely on campus placements.

What is your review of Kamla Nehru Institute Of Technology?

NaniteNomad

I chose Kamla Nehru Institute of Technology for my B.Tech in Information Technology mainly because of its affordability and decent placement rates. The curriculum is relevant, and while some subjects feel a bit repetitive, the overall teaching quality is good. The faculty is supportive, and they often help us prepare for exams, which consist of two class tests and a final semester exam.

The placement opportunities are quite good, especially for IT, with companies like TCS and Infosys frequently visiting. Overall, I’m satisfied with my decision to study here, as I believe I’m gaining the skills needed for the industry.

How do I get admission into KNIT Sultanpur?

BugBountyHunter

To get admission into KNIT Sultanpur, you need to appear for the JEE Mains exam and score a decent rank. After that, you must participate in the AKTU counseling process. Based on your rank, you can fill in your college preferences. For my course, I had to secure a rank below 70,000 to get into the Computer Science branch, and luckily, I got in after the counseling. The admission process is pretty straightforward as long as you follow the instructions on the AKTU website and submit the necessary documents on reporting day.

What should I choose IET Lucknow, KNIT, JSS Noida or JIIIT Noida for better exposure and opportunities top private colleges in Noida?

TwitchTitan

If you are considering KNIT Sultanpur, you should know that the college has a great community vibe and supports students well. The curriculum for BTech, especially in Information Technology, is good, and the fees are manageable at around ?88,850 per year, which includes hostel charges.

However, while the placement for IT students seems decent with an average package of about ?10 LPA, core branches often face challenges in securing good placements. The college does well in organizing events and fests, which adds to the campus life experience.

If you have a strong inclination towards IT, you might weigh options like JSS Noida or JIIIT Noida, as they could provide better exposure and opportunities.

Which is better, KNIT Sultanpur or NIT Srinagar?

Abhijeet Singh
Urmila SethiLives in Jammu

Undoubtedly NIT Srinagar is much better than KNIT Sultanpur as NIT is a central government-aided university whereas KNIT is under the state government.

In terms of various factors, the differentiation can be drawn between these two, they are as follows:

  • Academic excellence: The NIT, Srinagar is an autonomous institute that has been accredited by the National Board of Accreditation (NBA).NIT Srinagar ranked 82 among the top engineering colleges of India as per the reports of NIRF 2023. This indicates academic excellence, faculty strength as well and infrastructural abilities.
  • Faculty: NIT professors usually have advanced degrees and years of experience in their fields. The NIT Srinagar faculty is made up of 185 accomplished educators. There are about 2500 pupils enrolled, which contributes to a good student-teacher ratio.
  • Infrastructure & Facilities : NITs frequently have well-stocked research facilities, libraries, and labs.
  • Placement statistics: In 2023, INR 36.5 LPA was the largest package that was provided in placements. The average package was 10.48 LPA or INR.
  • Alumni Network: At NITs, there are frequently active alumni networks that may be tapped for networking, internships, and job placements. Among the notable former members of this organization are Mansoor Ali Khan, a representative in the 13th Lok Sabha, and Subhash Kak, a prominent head of the computer science department at Oklahoma State University, Stillwater, and many others.

After careful consideration, it can be concluded that NIT Srinagar is the ideal choice for learning. Getting admission to Institute of Engineering and Technology Lucknow with a JEE Main CRL rank of 469810 is very difficult. Cutoffs are much lower, especially for general category. However, chances may exist in less competitive branches through state counselling or management quota, depending on seat availability and category.
