Ques. What is the difference between B.Tech AI & ML regular and B.Tech AI & ML Lateral Entry at KCCITM?
Ans. B.Tech AI & ML regular is a 4-year program starting from the first year. B.Tech AI & ML Lateral Entry allows diploma holders and B.Sc. graduates to directly join the second year (3rd semester), making it a 3-year program. The degree awarded is identical - a B.Tech AI & ML degree from AKTU - with no distinction on the certificate.
Ques. Do I need to appear for JEE Main for B.Tech AI & ML Lateral Entry admission at KCCITM?
Ans. No. JEE Main is not required for B.Tech Lateral Entry admission. Admission is based on diploma/B.Sc. merit through UPTAC Lateral Entry counselling. No separate entrance exam is required.
Ques. What diploma branches are eligible for B.Tech AI & ML Lateral Entry at KCCITM?
Ans. Diploma holders in Computer Science Engineering, Information Technology, Electronics and Communication, or related engineering disciplines from AICTE-approved institutions are eligible. The curriculum is the same as that of regular B.Tech AI & ML students from the second year.

Ans. Yes. Lateral entry students are fully eligible for campus placements at KCCITM. They participate in the same placement drives as regular B.Tech students. The placement cell does not differentiate between regular and lateral entry students, and recruiters from companies like TCS, Infosys, Wipro, Cognizant, and others visit the campus for all B.Tech students.
