Should you pick MBA at MIT Mysore?
This course suits students who want a low-fee MBA near Mysuru and are happy to start in a sales or finance job.
Pick it if:
You hold a modest PGCET rank: many seats stayed empty after counselling last year, so later KEA rounds here still have seats.
You want a low fee: a KEA seat costs INR 1.27 Lakhs for two years, much less than the median pay of INR 5 LPA.
You want help to get a first job: the placement cell placed 94% of the last batch, mostly in sales jobs at edtech and finance companies.
Your family has a low income: most MBA students here get the full tuition fee back from the state through the SSP portal.
Skip it if:
You want a big-firm banking job: most offers last year were edtech sales jobs, and the highest MBA offer was INR 6.5 LPA.
You want to live and study in a big city: the campus is outside Mysuru near Srirangapatna, and students travel in by college buses.
You expect the median pay to rise: it fell from INR 5.5 LPA for the Class of 2024 to INR 5 LPA for 2025.
You need a hostel fee first: the college does not publish one, so ask the admission office in writing before you pay the KEA fee.
Counsellor's advice
Take this seat if KEA gives it to you and you want a low-fee MBA near Mysuru. If you want a banking or consulting job, keep a college with stronger finance recruiters above it.

VVIET is much harder to get into and has about half the KEA seats, at the same fee. If your rank clears VVIET, visit both before you lock options; if it clears only MIT Mysore, take this seat.
In short
GSSSIETW takes only women and closed at a much tougher rank, with the same number of KEA seats. If you are a woman whose rank clears it, visit both; if not, MIT Mysore is the easier seat to get.
In short
ATME closed at an easier rank but has about half the KEA seats, at the same fee. If KEA offers you MIT Mysore, take it; keep ATME below it in your option list as a backup.
In short
MRIT is near the same town, costs the same and closed at an easier rank, but it has about half the KEA seats. If your rank misses MIT Mysore, list MRIT right below it.

FAQs on MIT Mysore MBA
Straight answers to what students ask before they decide.
Is the MBA at MIT Mysore worth the fee?▾
Yes, for most students who take a KEA seat. The full fee is INR 1.27 Lakhs for two years and the Class of 2025 had a median pay of INR 5 LPA, so the fee is much less than one year of pay. If you plan to take a loan, check the EMI tile in the fee block above first.
What job will I get after this MBA?▾
Most students start in sales and business roles. In the last batch most offers came from edtech, business process and finance companies such as LaunchEd Global, Coforge BPS and Muthoot Finance. The highest MBA offer the department reports is INR 6.5 LPA, so plan your specialisation and internship early if you want more.
Should I take this seat if my rank is close to the cutoff?▾
Yes, keep it in your options. The General seat closed at rank 22,173 in round 1 of 2026, and in 2025 the last round closed at 30,977 because many seats stayed empty. Put this college in your list and wait for the later rounds before you give up.
Who should not take this MBA here?▾
Skip it if you want a banking or consulting job at a big firm, or a campus in a big city. Most offers last year were sales jobs, and the campus is outside Mysuru near Srirangapatna. If either matters more to you than a low fee, look for a college with stronger finance recruiters.
Which specialisation should I choose here?▾
Choose the one that matches the job you want. The college offers Finance, Marketing, Human Resources, Data Analytics, Tourism Management, Hotel Management and Hospital Administration, and you can take two. Most offers last year were in sales, so Marketing is the safest choice if you want a quick first job.
Will I get a placement if I am in the bottom half of the batch?▾
Most likely yes, but the offer may be smaller. The Class of 2025 placed 165 of its 175 students, which is 94%, at a median of INR 5 LPA. Attend every placement training session and keep your marks steady, because companies pick from the whole batch.
Is this MBA good for a finance career?▾
It is a start, not a fast track. Finance is one of the specialisations, and Muthoot Finance and Coforge BPS hired from the last batch, but most offers were in sales. If finance is your goal, take the finance specialisation, look for a finance internship and keep your marks high.
Should I wait a year for a better PGCET rank?▾
Usually no. The General seat here closed at 22,173 in round 1 of 2026 and went much easier in the later rounds of 2025. If your rank is near that number, take the seat now, because a year of waiting costs you a year of pay.
How do I get admission to the MBA at MIT Mysore?▾
Write PGCET and take part in KEA counselling. Enter MIT Mysore with code B219 in your option list, pay the fee by the KEA date and report at the college with your originals. If you are not from Karnataka, ask the college about a seat it fills itself through KMAT.
What is the full fee for the course?▾
The full two-year fee for a KEA seat is INR 1.27 Lakhs, made up of the tuition fee and the VTU fee. If your degree is from outside Karnataka, the VTU fee is higher and the total is INR 1.29 Lakhs. The toggle in the fee block above shows both.
Can I get my tuition fee back through a scholarship?▾
Yes, if your category and family income fit. SC and ST students and Category-1 students with family income up to INR 2.5 Lakhs get the full tuition back from the state, and 2A, 3A and 3B students up to INR 1 Lakh. Apply on the SSP portal after you join.
Is there a hostel and what does it cost?▾
The college has a hostel, and the number of students in a room depends on your semester. It does not publish the hostel fee on its website. Ask the admission office for the fee in writing before you pay the KEA fee, so you know the full cost.
The course offers students opportunities for recruitment by companies like Microsoft Technology, provided they meet a 50% eligibility criterion. Selection is based on abilities, aptitude, and soft skills. Students have access to a scholarship of Rs. 54,000 annually. Additionally, a loan option of Rs. 3 lakh is available, which can be repaid over 24 months at a low-interest rate. The loan process is quick and requires a caste certificate for approval.
