Agarkhar Research Institute, Pune is an autonomous, grant-in-aid research institute of the Department of Science and Technology (DST), Government of India. The institute was established in the year 1926 by Maharashtra Association for the Cultivation of Science. The institute indulges into various services which includes- MACS COLLECTION OF MICROORGANISMS (MCM), Fungus Identification Service, Supplying and Identifcation of Microbial Cultures with prior management and other. ARI conducts different research activities encompass biological sciences focussing on three broad areas- Animal Science, Microbial Science and Plant Science.
